You have to understand that this is probably one of the biggest problems the US has in its global image. The US is so diverse but the only people that make the news are those that say outlandish things, do outlandish things, or piss off other nations.

This is probably one of the main reasons that even with all the good the US does, by far and large the American global image is negative except perhaps in Canada, as our most recent poll found 88% of Canadians viewed the US positively/neutrally.
