I'm diggin this mix. Paxson was a very smart player and an important part of those early 90's championship teams. The song is good too. It fits very well with a basketball mixtape.
John Paxson deserves to have his Number retired at the United Center. His accomplishments individually may not be enough for the Hall of Fame but his role, alongside Michael Jordan the first 7 years MJ was in the league, helped bring the Bulls to the Championship.
@kroskilly Damn true! Pax was so tremendously important for the Bulls and their long-lasting success back in the 90s. He was a role player and a damn good one!
Great highlite tape, but a few clips you left out. He made a few great layups in his career and I would like to have seen the fight with that little pussy Isiah Thompson. But the music just doesn't work.
I am a big John Paxson fan. He was a consumate player who got the most out of his limited talent. He rarely mistake as a player. Jordan saw his value whenever he was double teamed he always found Paxson open for the jumper as your tape displays.
I wish you included a great layup he made in a game once, plus the fight he got in with that litte pussy Isiah Thomas. But the music just doesn't work.
Paxson had one of those textbook kind of jumpshots. Too bad he had to end his career due to knee problems. The trajectory of his jumper got so flat during his last season that it was really hard to recognize his shot anymore. Anyways: great player, great shooter, solid defensive player and a key player for the Bulls during the 80's and 90's. My idol...
He didn't fuck up the Chicago Bulls as the GM. He brought them from laughing stocks back to respectability you idiot. I can't stand Bulls fans like you. You have no fuckin clue about basketball and have no respect neither. Show some appreciation. This guy hit many big shots and helped the Bulls win championships. Then, he put together a team that went to the playoffs 4 times in 5 years. He tried to make moves to win. I can't stand dumbfucks like you.
1st of all, I am not Bulls' fan. 2nd, the Bulls were one of a few teams that didn't go over luxury cap limit in last decade, which means Paxson is reluctant to spend and invest. 3rd, the Bulls were one of top profitable team in last decade despite of their poor playing. Lastly not least, the stars they picked, the drafts they picked all were busts. Him as a player was good, but hereally fucked it up. Do some research b4 talking shit to me, kid.
Son,do some research before you spout off. John Paxson signed Ben Wallace to a huge deal. Yes, it didn't work out,but Bulls fans were happy at first. Hindsight always 20/20. In terms of the draft, with 1st round picks Paxson drafted Kirk Hinrich in 2004, Ben Gordon and Luol Deng in 2005,Juaquim Noah in 2007, and Derrick Rose in 2008.How much better could he have done? The only mess up was taking Tyrus Thomas in 2006 over Aldridge. Luxury tax? it's not his money. You can blame that on the owner.
Son, are you fucking seriously retarded to the max? All the picks you mentioned weren't great picks. He should have done a better job, and most Bulls fans can acknowledge what I just said. Not only that, he gave big contracts to Luol, Ben, and Kirk who aren't really worth that much of money. If there was one player he should have signed, it was Ben Gordon whom he let go. Besides, last decade probably was the worst since the Bulls creation day. How can you say he's been all that good. Stupid.
I didn't say he was a great GM. I said he was decent and did more positive than negative. In 2003, he made the best pick he could have. DWade, Lebron, Bosh, and Anthony weren't available idiot. In 2004, Gordon and Deng were solid picks. In 2007, Noah ended up being a solid pick considering he's leading the NBA in rebounding. Rose was a great pick in 2008. You're right Deng doesn't deserve that much money, but overall he did an admirable job. Could you have done better shithead?
wtf? ur expectation from bulls is obviously low. you go to chicago and ask how he as a gm is doing. 90 outta 100 will disapprove. the truth is he hasn't done a good job. you saying decent obviously are wrong. vinny as a coach was lame and not getting rid of him is second. just check out forums with hardcores and hear what real fans are talking.
I don't give a fuck about what computer geek fans say who have never put on a jockstrap in their lives. That's the thing about fans. Fans think they know all the answers. I am a Bulls fan, but I also run a team myself.I understand what media and fans do not. Plus, an intelligent true fans is going to put things in perspective. Kind of like how not true Bears fans ripped apart Rex Grossman 3 years ago. The guy took them to the fuck SB in his first year as a starter idiots!
You run a team in your video game and it don't mean jack shit. In fact, I used to play in NCAA, and a huge basketball fan now. Besides, you don't sound like a kid who knows the business side of NBA. Being a casual fan is a common thing but actually being a real fan is the other. Trust me. You ain't even old enuf to know how Paxson was, in his playing days. He just as a GM has been a fuck up for the Bulls. That's a fact. Grow up out of your little nest, kid.
Among the three great shooters that MJ had played with i would say that Craig Hodges was the best in terms of shooting and range. but overall Paxson was the best player. def better than hodges or kerr.
Also i think Hodges had the prettiest looking three while Paxson was the smoothest mid range shooter.
Bobby Hansen (GOOD), Steve Kerr (VERY GOOD), JOHN PAXSON (The Fucking Man!!). Would take Paxson over Kerr and Hansen anyday of the week and twice on Sunday. Beleive that!!
kerr's range was a little better. but i'd go paxson just because he was a really nice guy. i caddied in an outing with him once. he was a really cool dude & a great tipper.
I don't wanna hear still about this same problem. I KNOW THE SONG doesn't fit very good to mix but I made it on the begging of my work. everybody had said it before U. so U should make your own mix of J.paxson with your music...
John Paxson, B.J. Armstrong, Horace grant, Scottie pippen, and Michael jordan will always be regarded as basketball icons for years and generations on end.
fire paxson right now that's the problem for the Bulls what a dumb kind of GM..had a chance to get Garnett and Gasol but now they're all gone to other teams...
that was pretty cool. it looked like the paxson highlights from learning to fly. i wish theyd had the one when he & vlade divac got into a barking match
It brings back so many memories. I wish that time had stopped when the early 90's Bull were kings. I was only a little kid, but I knew something historically special was taking place. I always loved Paxson.
They should retire his number. Don't hate.
