  • Chene Park ...Detroit , Mi...is what this sounds like,,,remind me of.....it was jumping off then

  • @sometimes350 and Hart Plaza at the jazz fest

  • Quite the smooth laid back track...

  • my honey and went to see them in concert in 95', they we're great!

  • this reminds me of the high school years..... U know GATOR

  • I like the original better 1st and then this one.second by Pieces of a Dream. Smooth Jazz takes my Blues away.

  • A smooth jazz masterpiece

  • quiet passion

  • O.Allen Gumbs' version is the definitive one.....came out in the early 90's.......was played alot on the Jazz station back then!

AWESOME ! This one is good also.

Song just takes you on an escape!

  • Has anyone got the O.Allen Gumbs version to post? I keep hearing good things about it...

  • YES! The OA Gumbs version one I had found about a year ago....and then it was removed! I was annoyed to say the least !! So, I recently bought it.. is on Ebay ! You can own it totally cheap!

    ....... Good Luck =)

  • that intro brings back alot of memories!

  • not to mention this song!

  • Oh Zari, my version of Quiet Passion did not come out until 1988 not 1986.

  • To Zari7000, I personally chose Bob Baldwin(baldwin77777) to produce and arrange this song of mine. He did a superlative job. I of course still had the last word...LOL. It was mixed by myself and engineer Glen Barrett.

  • yeah. I can hear the bob baldwin in this tune

  • What a pleasure to re-create. I had the pleasure of playing electric rhodes, bass, drums...also the back vox....and that's Marion Meadows on sax....James Lloyd laid down a beautiful piano....one of my fave dudes....

So now you have the truth about it all..

    sincerely,

    Bob Baldwin....

  • this is for real a very good performance & also one of my favorite songs ever

  • I have heard This version from Onaje Allan Gumbs in 1986 but this one sounds much better.

  • Is there another version of this song?

  • Yes it is another version by Onaje Allen Gumbs here on youtube.

  • I'm on the lookout for this album. Sounds good! (Like all the others)

  • This is one of my favorite albums by pieces of a dream released in 1993!

  • As young as you are you sure have good taste in music yellowdiva21. Is there anything you don't have? I have some stuff that i've found while riding on Detroit's public transportation 15 years ago. I will post it & send it to you shortly . You & others can identify the artist if you can.

  • send it to me but I may not be able to identify all of the artists

  • as you wish.

  • Can you tell me if the bird on the album cover is on fire? I've been looking at the image for a while but I can't tell.

  • It's on fire with a capital "F"!

  • haha

  • It might represent a phoenix, who immolates itself in a pit of fire then resurrects itself every 500 years, according to the legend.

  • The bird is a phoenix, painted by Ms Toni Taylor. Therefore it is fire as the bird rises from the ashes - Onaje Allan Gumbs, composer of Quiet Passion
