  • Harold Faltermeyer was clearly (ahem) VERY heavily influenced by this song when writing "Axel F"...

  • synth used in this is sequential circuts pro one. great mono synth..

  • i had this cassette as a teen when it came out. i didn't realize that this was the beginning of the club music scene.

  • @intense4200 it's not the beginning, but an EVOLUTION of *disco* and NEW WAVE LOL ;-)

  • Awesome

  • What Synths were used in this song ?

  • Vince gets his groove on at 4:19

  • I'm trying to upload this song with MP3 converter...but, for whatever reason is not working. and is only with this song in particular. Can someone help me? thanks

  • @yadiraeaton1 All you have to do is install Realplayer, it allows u to download video, move cursor to top right of video display and download . . . . . you can keep the whole thing or demux

  • The right and left aren't coordinated

  • Heidi montage copied this tune for her Body language song. Her results with it= Disasturous. There should be some law forbidding artists from tampering with classics like this. Bit of an overstatement but that's my reaction to today's entertainment industry, an industry with no original ideas.

  • Awesome song...but from the looks of the album cover,I don't think I'd want to be Upstairs at Eric's lol

  • @mysterymediacorp looks more like "Upstairs At Jeffry's" (Dahmer), no? LMAO!!!

  • @nazreyes lol

  • @nazreyes lol

  • @mysterymediacorp yeah there you can drink till you fall appart

  • One of the best bands of the 80s. I will never forget when I bought this album (vinyl)...I'm showin my age here..haha, I couldn't believe how awesome they were and still are in my opinion. I danced to this like crazy. This song sounds great really loud in a car too.

  • @IrishAlways8 it's ok, I had it on vinyl, too.... :) I used to tear up the dance floor in the clubs when this song would get played

  • Not only was Vince Clarke the keyboard player in Depeche Mode before forming Yaz, he WROTE the entire first album (including Just Can't Get Enough and Dreaming of Me- genius track) and was a founding member!

  • @HavokOnePointZero Except that this is a masterpiece and Macafacarena is nothing but trash...

  • I knew Yaz. I knew this song. I just never knew they were the same.

  • To clarify for the original poster, Alison Moyet is not one of the best vocalist of the 80's. She is one of the best artist of all times. Her voice is amazing.

  • a great great slice of the eighties ...really puts the stuff in the charts today to shame

  • Excellent Audio. This is exactly the version we used to dance back in the 80's !!!!!

  • Clearly the one person who disliked this either a) needs their hearing checked and then fixed or b) is a Justin Bieber fangirl.

  • Being from Canada--25rsboy is right. I heard this when I was in the Uk. Brilliant and epic. I played the video where they perform this live but they miss the keyboards and back up singers.

  • They should have made a music video for a great song like this.

  • 8-bit, side-scrolling, time-traveller. "Who are you?"

  • its funny to me that a bunch of people i know who grew up in the 80s and love 80s music of all kinds dont know who Yazoo is. What a great band.

  • @25rsboy that's because Yazoo was not popular in the U.S. in the early 80s! Only CLUBBERS, new wave fans, and fans of dance music knew Yazoo at the height of their popularity. I was a barfly in 1982 so I knew them LOL Both of their albums "Upstairs At Erics" and "You And Me Both" are new wave classics!

  • @nazreyes They were extremely popular in black areas of the U.S...This classic and State Farm. Both songs helped to usher in House/Club music, especially in the New York/New Jersey area

  • @gmccall22 I agree. Like I said in my other post, there were more black people that knew Yazoo when they were big in the clubs in the 1982! ;-) Kinda like TEENA MARIE LOL I thought Yazoo was a funk/r&b band before I found out they were WHITE LOL

  • @nazreyes I thought they were black too. LOL...I also thought the group "Martin Circus" was a black band. BOY WAS I WRONG, lol

  • @nazreyes Exactly. I have KROQ in Los Angeles in the 80s to thank for my musical taste. This song was part of their rotation.

  • @RainPoetry we had WHFS (DC) in those days. When ALTERNATIVE was truly alternative and more diverse ;-)

  • @nazreyes WORD!!!! im in annapolis, i remember the good ol days...

  • @25rsboy they were extremely popular in the gay clubs, too, I remember them from when they first came out, being played in Hula's in Waikiki

  • @bokesnmokes I think you just OUTED yourself there LOL Like I said, it was popular in CLUBS, and that includes just about EVERY dance club, gay or whatnot LOL

  • @nazreyes I think someone would just have to check out my favorites list for me to be outed LOL

  • @bokesnmokes wait...I think I sent that to the wrong person LOL I meant to say that to 25rsboy!!! LMAO!!! Sorry ;)

  • I forgot that Depeche Mode and Madonna was sampled in it...great tune...

  • I love it I remember this song when I went to my friends to the party's with my friends in México City I have 48 years now but I still like saludos from Oakland CA I miss my friends but I'll back to México City forever in two more years to share with them El Lagrimas San Pedro Ixtacalco DF

  • They was great days as an 18 year old growing up in England.. life was different then . there was less distractions ....its was simpler . but better

  • I want to dust off my rollerskates.

  • When i hear stuff like this i wonder what happened to good music its a shame what the newer generation has to listen to

  • Kinda like the end of sixteen candles.......if they were murdered

  • I love the quality of it z

  • This is great! Very clear audio.
