  • I think we all have had a Summer romance in some time of our lives that we thought and hoped would go on, but knew it woudn't. I have had many. This song represents them all.

  • I spent nearly 2 years in VietNam. It cost me me High School Girlfriend. Her name was Susan and every time I hear this song, she occupies my mind.

  • jcmom i wish we could go back to the old summer days except the summer day i spent in vietnam

  • They say that ALL GOOD THINGS must end some day, Autumn leaves must fall, but don't you know THAT IT HURTS ME SO to say goodbye to you, wish you didn't have to go No..No..No.., and when that rain beats against my window pain I'll think of our Summer days again and dream of you.

  • I am recommending this to those looking for accompanying music for funeral services. Thanks.

  • When I was 9 or 10, and this song would come on the radio on the way home from my grandparents' house, I would quietly sob in the back of the car. I knew then that one day they would be gone and this song went right to my core. I'm 28, now. One set of grandparents are gone, one great-grandmother remains and her son and his wife (my maternal grandparents.) That grandmother has Alzheimer's, so is pretty much gone to us. Even so, I still love this song.

  • My very first album was Yesterday's Gone, my 1964 Christmas present. I was 14 and loved their music. I still have the album, and their music is timeless.

  • This one is for Mike Hahn where ever you are....... Odessa, summer 1970

  • 1965 , 16 YEARS OLD I WILL GIVE ALL MY TOMORROWS FOR ONE SINGLE YESTERDAY. 1967 GOT MARRIED .2007 SHE DIED ON ME . I; AM 63 YEARS , THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER ONE FOR ME. GOD , I MISS YOU SO MUCH SHIRLEY; UNTILL WE MEET AGAIN.

  • The 60s had great music--glad I was there.

  • I dreamt of this song last night. I was singing it in a desert with a bunch of soldiers. I know it meant that those soldiers, and I, and America itself were going the way of the summer day.

  • One of my favorites!!!

  • This is one of my favorite folk/rock songs of all time!!! Such a sweet, sweet melody,

and the words are as strong as the melody!!! The guitar playing, the singing, and the

production on the song are also great!!! Pure magic!!! I had the pleasure of seeing

Chad And Jeremy perform this great song very recently on the PBS(Public Broad-

casting System) show "The 1960's" here in the United States.

  • Yeah Baby! I was born in the 50s but grew up in the 60s so I remember all the great songs and groups of that time. It really is some of the VERY best music ever made!! Songs like this one bring back bittersweet memories of my childhood. Ah, and this vid has pretty scenery, love it when they do that. :)

  • @summerwinelover I was there with you winelover.I was just listening to Spanky and Our Gangs ,Id like to get to know you.Such sweet memories!

  • @99ontguy1 Great thread here (for the most part, cept for spammers), it's like being in the company of a whole bunch of groovy swingers of the 60s, LOL, like I was! Transistor radios, open windows on the Pontiac, 33 1/3 rpm vinyl records on the hi-fi, the backyard swing and the old apple tree, the sun porch where we didn't have AC but didn't care...brother working in the shed with his radio playing, the patio and the cats purring...our dachshund...ice tea, lemonade...I'm gonna cry...

  • @summerwinelover Thank You for sharing that moment in time. I could picture it all with this song playing. I envy all those who may have been 17-21 during that time. Seemed like such better times. I like to think so.......

  • @LOKISlog7 In 1965 I was ten...which dates me, LOL!! At that age, at least in those days, we could still afford to be carefree children. How many 10 yr olds today can really feel so carefree & truly childish, as we did in the "old days"? Heck, we didn't even have technology aside from analog TV and radio. Letters were written by hand (I still can write a beautiful script-like long hand, another lost art kids won't be taught anymore, woe) and the telephone was our "dialup," LOL

  • @summerwinelover Seemed like it would've been easier to find true love at that time. There's a bunch of whores now :(. I'm only 15

  • my second favorite song of all time

  • @Morganlikescats whats number1 ? :)

  • So bittersweet. And yet, so sensual.

  • frosh in a big university, October 64

  • Jus' cain't get enough o' this quintessentially 60s song! Imagine a '65 Impala two-door goin' past with a '64 Thunderbird right behind it...

  • Even though I was born in the 60's, I still love some of the hits from then. And this is one!

  • such a beautiful song

  • True enough, ALL GOOD THINGS MUST END! Nice song it is.

  • lmao this song always makes me think of the princess diaries

  • I love to hear this song from the time I've started internet May this year-

  • smooth indeed..thanks for posting this song..

  • thanks for posting.....

  • favourite part of the song is 0.35 - 0.50 - describes a real summer night, how it would be in summer.

  • If you could hear velvet ... it would sound something like this ... awesome!! One of the best boy duets of the 60's ... and there were many!

  • Now this is music! Beautiful music.......Love Chad & Jeremy & their music.

  • Wow, it's hard to think of anything negative when you're listening to this song!

  • awesum 60s flashback! I LOVE IT!

  • what a wonderful time it was back then, the world seemed so much different than today. to bad it couldnt have stay more like those times.

  • @zillinalovedance then as now the world was a confused ball of you know what, memories often get distorted as time goes by.I will admit the songs were much more lovely than most of what now passes for music these days, but remember war and the assinations and craziness of those days and you will see not much that is different. The times haven't been changing all that much-sorry Dylan.

  • Used to sing this to my little boys. It was one of their favorites. Mine too. So sweet.

  • Very relaxing song, definitely one of my all time favorite songs of the British Invasion era

  • JUST BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!

  • I love this song. I was 16 and in high school and in love with this tall blond name Julie. I had an 8 transistor Zenith royal 500 radio and KFRC 610 and KYA 1260 played a lot of Chad and Jeremy. Seems like every body carried a transistor radio around with them, it was the in thing. I have the album Yesterday's Gone on 8 track. Doesn't seem possible that was 45+ year's ago. I feel so fortunate that I was able to grow up in the San Francisco Bay Area during the 1960's.

  • @Klaaaan1 Our generation was surely blessed with a plethora of great music and music genres ... often wonder if we know how lucky we are! This is classic ... and it even sounded great on those transistor radios!!

  • @jctmom yeah, even on transistor the sounds were great

  • @jctmom If I had a choise of where I'd could go back in time, it would be the 60s hand's down :-)

  • Beautiful song! I remember first listening to this song as a little boy of around 7 or 8 and really enjoying it, but never knowing what the song was called or who the singer(s) was. There's nothing wrong with the likes of Justin Bieber, but people should listen to the classics like this to truly appreciate great music.

  • Goodbye sweet Summer, until next year do us part.

  • why debate? simply enjoy

  • one of the most beautoful and romantic songs ive ever heard. oh, why cant todays music be beautiful like this? romance seems to have gone out the window, now its all angry rap crap and sex stuff. just disgusting. ill stick with the oldies.

  • The Portuguese have a word,"saudade", about the feeling of missing someone you once loved...this song is about the best song in English in capturing this feeling.

  • I hope your watching YT and this one is for you. Please, please watch this.

  • AAH this is a Classic! Very Pretty! Harmony is great.

  • the red coats are coming, dick van dyke

  • I love this song from Chad and Jeremy, it reminds me of my hs days in Laloma, QC.,

phil. This is for you, I know we will not meet again. We're not seeing for many, many

years, only thru fb but then, again it happened that we're not meant for each other.

I missed your laughter and pagiging kenkoy.

  • Saw them a couple months ago at the San Juan Capistrano "Coach House". What a treat to hear this music again, Live.

  • It's been decades since I heard Chad & Jeremy but Summer Days still brings a lump to my throat. Seen far too many good-byes since then; good theme song for that.

  • Soo peaceful. Beautiful!

  • barnfresh60, Thanks for your comment back to me. I love past eras too! You have great choices in music! (: cynmarie33

  • I was a child in the 60's....this reminds me of happy times going to San Diego (CA) to visit my Aunt Leora, Uncle Eric and cousins. Great people who remind me of this song. The 60's were so uncomplicated, at least for a kid..

  • @cynmarie33 hi, i was a kid in the 1960,s,wow what a time,so colourful and happy days, and it reminds me of going to work with mum at Jaques drive in restaraunt in South Australia, all those those cool cool cars and clothes/fashion and this song comming over the speaker,s Phew ((sob sob ))what a trip dowm memory lane, just Love this song, take care cyn marrie33!! down under!!!

  • Still got my dads record of this...Love it.

  • this is amzying :')

  • GOD I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS SONG FOR SO LONG THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

  • umust read this.once u have started there is no turning back. a little 10 year old girl was raped and murderded in 1945. her body was not found until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him. copy and paste this onto 10 vidoes in 30 minutes the dead girl will apear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you. well you better start to copy and paste to be saved

  • @kooldd10 WTF? what is the purpose of this shit? Just polluting the comments section.

  • @kooldd10 Are you serious Clark?

  • Ooooooh~ so peaceful!!

  • simply and beautiful.. voices and song..

  • i love it HAPPY

  • Chad and Jeremy forever.

  • i remember when this came out back then. Very nice number. Good voices. This fit in well back in the '60's and still now it sounds good.

  • This is one Bad ass song! Much Respect to Chad & Jeremy- Eazy O

  • what separates this song from other super-pretty balads are the breaks to minor chording - a bit spooky, and a sign of composition genius - as the saying goes :"two people who listened just didn't have ears..."

  • Really takes me back - good times!!!!

  • Im only 16 but I'm glad I stumbled across this classic

  • Who else is old enough to remember thinking this was another Beatles hit when it came out? Great song!

  • I think Chad and Jeremy were definitely the embryonic beginning of hard rock and heavy metal...Dan O'Niallain

  • A helluva lot better than Lady GagMe!!!!

  • @bender1958 You are right!!

  • I Heard This song playing at the Wawa Bathroom and i fell in love with it as soon as i heard it :D

  • A Classic. Very nice song. Good harmony.

  • i try to like this song but everytime i hear it it reminds me of my Ex this was our favorit song to listen to

  • @TheMrNarutohead

This is one of those remarkable songs that evokes the same feeling in you the thousandth time you here it as the first. It brings images to mind in me of sitting alone in my father's Plymouth on a cold, rainy windswept October afternoon, looking at the leafless trees and remembering walking down the street hand-in-hand with my first great love on a beautiful June afternoon when I really thought the world had stopped and I would remain forever 17.

  • @YD8189 very true but it can't excuse the pain of a lost love especialy when it has to come to an end and what makes it worse is when they give up on you on the first sign of truble and say it was for the better

  • @TheMrNarutohead

True, lost love hurts like hell but the truth of the matter is that unless you put ahammerlock on your brain, two things will happen: 1) It will construct a narrative that actuallymakes you believe it was for the best (see, Dan Gilbert on "synthetic happiness"--he's a superstar Harvard professor, and 2) you will discover the liberating truth that when the angels depart the archangels arrive. The woman of my dreams entered my life after the

    counterfeit walked out.

  • Was playing beer pong to this lol amazing song

  • Thank you so much!

  • classic

  • PRINCESS DIARY

  • ahhhhh.... love

  • I agree to all of u cause I'm also a part of this wonderful memory of the 60's

I will never forget the sweet and sad of this era nice to hear all songs of the60's

  • A beautiful memory from the 60's.

  • Very nice !!!!!

  • So beautiful , I' ve heard this song probably million times but still can't help crying......I want that summer back ... oh I made a mistake, I want HIM back.....

  • probably the sweetest song from the brit invasion era

  • A very good song. Breeze, rain, leaves, summer nights, distant lights, starry sky, soft kisses............

    Oh! So beautiful!!

  • Great video--just wish the pictures were sharper.

  • Great vid!

  • This Music makes me Long for my Wonderful Childhood during the 60's. Back when Life was a lot Simplier. It really Hurts Me So that it will never return again.

  • @perpetual61 I agree with you 100% and thanks for sharing your thoughts so well. You said so very much in so few words! I was born in 1953 and got into music beginning on Christmas Day in 1964 when my parents gave me a Candle (Brand) Six-Transistor Radio. That radio (which probably cost only a couple of bucks) was the MOST INFLUENTIAL GIFT OF A LIFETIME for me because it presented to me all these lovely songs of the 50s and 60s. It is a REAL high when I hear this music I love so much!

  • @unclebone100 I'm with you......my little Lafayette transistor radio was my best friend. I was born in 1954. I had an older sister so pop/rock music was always playing. I really lament the decline in AM radio. It's great if you are a big sports fan but if not there is nothing much interesting now. I can remember a time when AM was king and late at night I would search for far away stations. I would move the radio dial a fraction of an inch at a time seeking distant interesting stations

  • @inkey2 Thank you so very much for sharing your wonderful and nostalgic thoughts that I just loved to read. You and I are so close in age and have alot in common with the radio and oldies stories that we share. Too bad I did not have an older sibling like you who listened to AM radio at that time. If so, I would have fallen in love with the oldies alot sooner. And I agree with you 100% about AM radio today which is AWFUL when it comes to oldies. How very sad compared to the 60's.

  • @inkey2 Not sure where you live but I live in San Jose, CA. and AM radio music is almost all NON-ENGLISH in several languages but mostly Spanish! I feel like I do not live in the USA anymore. And the one oldies station is the True Oldies Channel which seems to play the SAME SONGS ALL THE TIME and sadly, NOT those great oldies that deserve airplay!! To hear those, you have to listen to the oldies satellite radio channels (for a fee) or buy your own music like I have over the years. How sad.

  • I love 60s pop...

  • If only I could be 16 again. R.I.P. Jerry my love.

  • Ah what wonderful memories. I remember still. Do you?

  • Wish you didn't have to go..no, no, no...yes those were the days of GOOD music. All you 1960 growin' folks..you love this! how about some likes! And dream of you.....and dream of you...

  • DOES ANYBODY HAVE THE CD OF "CABBAGES AND KINGS". HOW ABOUT "THE ARK". TWO GREAT CDS THAT WOULD BE A GREAT ADDITION TO YOUTUBE.

  • Its sad that they don't make music like this anymore.

...I hear this and it takes me back to happy time in America, a happy time in my life....

    Thank you

  • @americanmarinepatrio My sentiments exactly!

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever written and sung by this great duo.

  • When we wake up to the truth of life, inspired music like this will emerge and flourish again, and all the uninspired crap that people call "music" these days will fade away and be forgotten. Search "Truth Contest" in Google and click the 1st result, then open The Present and read what it says to learn the truth of life.

  • Timeless.

  • Why do people like Justin Bieber again?

Oh, because they've never heard stuff like this.

  • @gollin452 No because they have different tastes then other people,

  • @gollin452 ....comparing this to justin bieber? why do peole like the McRib...oh, because they've never had a falafel....i feel dumber responding to your comment than i did reading it....backfire! but ya classic tune paws up!

  • @gollin452 Okay, everyone needs to like stop comparing Justin to like every band out there. we ALL know he sucks. :)

  • I had a summer love in high school when this was a hit. Wish I could remember her name. :(

  • I just love the strings and horns...like drifting on the tides....great classic!

  • Great song. soft nice voices. The voices fit the song very nicely. Too bad they don't write great songs like this anymore.

  • smoothest song ever

  • i wish my wife could appreciate this

  • I love "Heavy Metal" like the British Duo "Chad and Jeremy" could only deliver in the 60's...Dan O'Niallain

  • Just watched them on old Batman show with my toddler.

  • To all who swear and use dirty illustrative profanity, "Grow Up!". Or, risk being a conversational cripple!...

This song is a great one of the genre, Rating: A+...

  • So well said Lobo..bless those golden days of our life. And thank you so very much June for taking me back to this beautiful and inspiring song.

  • Chad and Jeremy has to be one of the greatest Heavy Metal British Folk Rock Duets...Dan O'Niallain

  • @oldiesbutgoodies67

dude hahahhaha your SOOOFUNNY omfg im laughing sOO fucking hard its amazing wow so funny, are you a comedian by trade? fucking idiot, nice joke you fucking newb

  • I love this song. It always makes me go sappy and sentimental. Great video to go along with the song. Instant fav!

  • It brings back the emotions and memories and - I am very surprised - they are even stronger then back then. Is there a psychologist to explain that to me ???

  • A delightful mix of folk and rock with added strings--you're right, it doesn't get much better.

  • This is for you Mr Eddie Macapagal of La loma QC. I hope you remember

me with song way back in 1966.

  • I was in HS when Iheard this lovely music, since then I alwalys try to hear

it now and then. Thanks for posting it.

  • This is such a beautiful song. Great video too. Thanks for this great share.

  • The 2-part is beautifully and perfectly sung and as good as Peter and Gordon, The Everly Brothers and Simon and Garfunkel.

  • I'm going to see them in a few weeks in Woodbridge, NJ. Can't wait. These guys made some great tunes.

  • I appreciate your comments, Lobo Fan1000! It doesn't get better than this!

    Rating: A++...

  • One of my favorite songs from the "British invasion."

  • 2 people accidentally clicked "dislike" for this song.

  • Love this song!!!!!!!!!

  • Respond to this video... now I can sit back and relax to real music not shitty pop musicians like Ke$ha, Justin Beiber, and Katy Perry.

  • i just saw on on an old copy on batman, did they really exist ? good music either way let me know or was it just incidental!

  • i just saw on on an old copy on batman, did they really exist ? good music either way let me know

  • can't seem to find 'no tears for Johnny' the 'B' side of one of their 45's from app. '65. forget what the hit side was. I really liked it and constantly sang it while in Vietnam which drove everyone crazy.

  • Romantic, romantic, romantic :)

  • These cats sound quite like The Beatles, which is a bloody good thing.

  • @ebonics4everyone When david and jonanthan did michelle by the beatles they were trying to sound like chad and jeremy sounding like the beatles

  • I believe those were the best carefree years looks everything was so clean. Those warm summers of my childhood days I really missed them.

  • I absolutely LOVE this song. Brings me back to small kid time growing up on the North Shore - Sunset Beach Hawaii. RR4L

  • @808shaka me too, I was P.3 when first this song. I was 9 yrs. old,.

  • Played this for my grandson and he said, "sweet; who are they?"

  • Great song

  • Easily in the top 100 songs of all time. I think of my father Harlan Schantz, may he rest in peace.

  • As i have said only occasionally: "It doesn't get better than this!"

  • The songs i write are not as good in quality as this masterpiece, but this kind of "good music" & most of the Beatles' offerings have no doubt influenced me to be a better musician...

  • This song burns its way into your memory and you never forget it, it is the essence of loveliness....

  • I went off to war, never to be the same again. But oh, I do remember this song.

  • My love moved away that year. We both sang this song for a week before she left. She had a copy of this song and bought me one. We never wrote but man it hurt for a long time and wore out the record playing it.

  • Nice song, hard not to like!

  • Never feel too old for great music Im 27 and own more classic vinyl than cds I even have this album. Now thats true oldschool!

  • Love it. It's my all-time favorite song.

  • princess diaries brought me heeya!!!!!!!! i now love this song!!

  • @browneyedgirl1967 and MrMotownmanny: Are we all that old? LOL! But that doesn't explain why our children loved Dirty Dancing and why this was the first song my 12-year-old grandson is learning to play on the guitar. No doubt there's a longing for simple music and simple expressions of love and a return to a happier time....

  • @personalkoment I know what you mean. Some songs are just so simple that they make you happy.

  • Great song, great images! Reminds us of how beautiful life is.... way back then.

  • Timeless song. That shot at 2:00 is my favorite.

  • Summer camp/1964 discovered girls and fell in love.

  • I love this song - I always have. It's beauty and simplicity are so sweet! It was fun hearing it in Princess Diaries I. I miss the good ole days of gentle expressions of love!

  • This brought back so many deep, sweet, hopeful memories. I was 14! Wow, all that would happen after that summer of 1964. Love this!

  • Good Tuesday morning, friends! It is freezing here in Jersey, so I thought a little reminder of Summer was in order! Lol- everyone have a great day, and good luck with the final Christmas push!

  • RUSHMORE!!!

  • iamBOOB007, Couldn't agree with you more! This was real music in 1964!!

Today's ave. group can't hold a candle to Chad & Jeremy...

  • IT simply doesn't get better than this! A perfectly constructed soft-rock song. Rate it an A+...

  • This song manages to draw tears from my eyes time after time.

  • beg67...innocence,hopscotch,Kennedy & the dream

  • THANK GOD FOR YOUTUBE. when Im in school I have to deal with all these idiots listening to justin bieber and lady gaga, but when I go home I can listen to real music
