it kinda depends on the genetics, physical dimensions and most importantly how long one has been lifting IMO... i first lifted 200lbs yesterday and i've been doing weightlifting only 'bout a month. started off very light and adding weight every time. i do squats, deads, rows, bench & overhead presses. you might've heard of SL5X5, i'm trying that on first, might change, might stick too it.
@tubenbosse They are regular guys who keep themselves active, but just dont do any heavy compounds like squats or deads. Hell, when i started weightlifting at 19, my max was 230lbs, not everyone has the structure or muscle fibres initially to lift heavy ass weight, it takes time.
@Skleevan but still 100lb ain't THAT much. i think almost all of my friends including the ones who doesn't train could make that atleast once. But like u said. It takes time :) im 17 and my record is 286lb twice. just started doing some serious deadlift.
@tubenbosse Well it goes to show genetically alot of people are significantly different. There are legitimate 17 year olds on Youtube (not fakers) such as "Geoleeman" (search for him), at 17 he could deadlift 675lbs, LOL. Its insane.
@tubenbosse I workout 3x a week, mixing between heavy compounds like squats, deadlifts and bench press, aswell as higher rep movements to pump up the muscle and increase blood volume. Im 22 now, been lifting for 2 years properly, deadlift 460lbs, squat 375lbs, and bench 235lbs (my weakpoint)
@AndyHarglesis that is average men I'm talking about but I know this woman's strong and you're probably right I think the average man can only lift 1-1.5 their body weight but I thought it would be much more because I'm 15 and when I started a couple months ago at 60 kg I was dead lifting 220 now I dead lift nearly 300
@BotActionAndy Ever heard of natural strength genetics? They're like tiny little things that spread throughout certain people and some people have strong genetics, such as with physical strength.
However, your family is not excusable for the whole world or even 0.05% of it. Better luck next time.
@AndyHarglesis I don't know why you doubt the average man? maybe to boost your ego and make yourself seem stronger? and trust me the majority of men could pick up 200 lbs with relative ease.

Are you kidding me?, I just did 200lb today and I though I did great. :( this is depressing lol

@BL4ck0S Dont beat yourself up dude. The girls who find this easy are very short, around 5ft so they have a leverage advantage. 200lb is still alot.

@Skleevan i find that pretty good for "only" working out 3 times a week, and bench is a very technical exercise :)

@tubenbosse You mean a very pathetic exercise...

BotActionAndy 7 months ago
@BotActionAndy Cool. But most average males aren't that strong... just search on Google "what does an average man deadlift"
AndyHarglesis 7 months ago
@AndyHarglesis they must be the average bench press is like 145

@BotActionAndy False. I can point you in the direction of many a great males who can't bench 145lbs on their first attempt.
AndyHarglesis 7 months ago
@AndyHarglesis every male in my family can bench over 140 and only me and my dad train he can bench nearly 300 for reps
