Capel originally went on the court to try to get the 10 second call. After he knew he wasn't going to get it, he started back to the bench and decided he'd rather get his two cents in and get a T.

There's a reason he didn't get thrown out for holding the ball. The situation sure should have called for it, but I think the refs understood the situation was partially their fault.

And you're right. Some situations call for holding the ball and intentionally throwing it away from the ref. Please....

I remember that game as if it was yesterday! Jeff Capel became my favorite person ever after he did that. Hope we keep him around for awhile.

jasonth13, perhaps if you had witnessed the entire game you would understand why Capel reacted the way he did. This was not the result of a couple of bad calls or no-calls- the refs had been screwing the Sooners over time and time again the entire game. You lose the support of your fanbase if you just sit there and do nothing to fight back.

Your coach was a poor sport who was lucky he wasn't ejected from the game. You can't walk into the middle of the court while the ball is in play. You certainly can't delay play by withholding the ball.

Everyone deals with lopsided officiating at times. It doesn't mean you can intentionally break the rules.
