Does anyone know why the Meadowlarks song has changed over the years? It used to have 4 distinct notes to start followed by the "yodel" at the end. To maybe put it into words ... Hi - low, Hi - low, yodel. I miss the old song.
I hope we are never completely reduced to listening to the song of the Meadowlark only on YouTube, but I am so grateful for this beautiful piece of childhood memory. Thank you!
I wait all winter to hear this beautiful sound that represents Spring, sunshine and joy! I am so thankful to have these little guys surrounding my home!
@ButILookGood As a visitor to the States this somehow encapsulates everything that I like about the country - the scenery, the wildlife and, yes, even the agriculture!
I love meadowlarks. I used to hear them across the road, where they sat on the fence posts early in the morning. This video is almost like going home!
There used to be a small open space near my neighborhood, and during the summer a meadowlark would call out from atop an oddly shaped pinyon pine that sat apart from the rest of the trees. It was so beautiful. Then they developed the area into a whole bunch of townhomes, and I haven't heard one where I live since :(.
could someone send me this beautiful bird song as a MP3? Would greatly appreciate it.
