  • You become greater day by day as my predication.

  • @Tysontp

Yes, but this is fairly old video. ;)

  • This is a very good performance!!!!....thank you!!!. I so share....regards!!!, Sergio,

  • Thank you too for the kind words!

  • Great Perfomance!!!

  • Can someone please tell me the name of what she is playing? Sounds really good. Thanks for sharing

  • Mendelssohn concerto E minor, 1st movement.

She plays it wonderfully, doesn't she? :)

  • Very beautiful.

  • I really like this song!!! and she played this wonderfully ^^

  • much improved compared to your other video!

intonation was impeccable, but your expression still needs a bit of work.

    overall a solid performance.

  • Congratulations Katariina!!! The other times you played it, it was fantastic, but now it's 100 times better. There isn't any word that means it, I think! thanks for sharing. :))))

  • Ah, oops! I'd wondered if Katariina was simply a short name for the screen name.

  • Outstanding, Jekatherina. This performance has a lovely energy, and I like your interpretation; it's reflective of your expression of Romantic-Contemporary work.

-and, wow, how you've grown! :)

  • Thanks. Do not forget that it is Katariina who is performing and I only watching ;) Althogh we have almost similar names (me, being just her mother) :)

  • Try to read out the manuscripe of what the composer mean. If you cannot find out, do let me know. I can send you a copy.

  • Thank You. But we must not forget that it is not Julia Fischer we are talking here about touring around the world. It is a 13 year old girl who has to go to the special musical school with lots of extra studies. And with little experience with orchestra (although she plays in the school orchestra) to feel more confidence in front of the orchestra and open herself musically - it is not the same as with her flexible accompanist ;)

  • Congrads Katariina, you have improve a lot since the last upload of this Concerto. It seems that your techique is already ready for this Concerto now. It was beautiful (except some blemishes, but still sounds excellent overall). My advice is try to sing the theme out. Playing an instrument out of a theme and sing out a theme is very different (I know it and I play violin as well), you will find out a very different prespective of this concerto.

  • Thank You. It seems this piece has to rest for now for a while. She had two performances - one on the 21th and the other on the 22th. We choose the second one to upload. Now she has now barely 2 weeks until her competition here in Tallinn, which starts from the 3th of April. There she will have other and new pieces to play - Saint-Saens Havannaise, Tartini sonata and Haydn violin concert.

I suppose Mendelssohn will come around again after couple of years.. ;)

  • Yes, it needed to take some rest before suddenly one day you know what you want. The playing is excellent, and be frank, much better than some world-class performers. Hope you can get good results in competitions. I love your Beriot - Scene de Ballet most. It is very exciting to hear such performance in such little age.

  • If I were her teacher, I will let her try on Kabalevsky Concerto as well. I guess she will play it very well, and should do have her own interpretation. And it should be easy for her according to the standard she is playing. Do let her try it, and tell her that there is a little fan waiting for it.

  • I promise to tell this little wish to the teacher. :)

  • The problem of our time is the perfection of technics and achievemnt, not music. Little bit like sports you know. ;) And sadly the personality, inner life gets lost.. I'm speaking about famous players..

Beriot is everybody's favorite, mine too - this was the exceptional occasion when the piece deeply worked through, performed and finally found the best possible audience. And it was her childhood dream long time ago.

  • I know what you mean. It seems that the public is more and more not knowing how to listen music. I have lot od friends, and even my brother always finding out the best perfermance in terms of techique.. since many people are learning instrument today, and they can classified which one is best.

  • But I don't like that kind of performance. I'm accidentally viewing the Beriot and was shock. It is beyond techique... and I don't like performance of Asian, despite I'm.

I think it is two-way interaction. There should be one to try to break out the situation and ask people to turn back to listening music itself. The sad truth is that.... most of the people will buy records of classical because of the cover, and they did not listen to it, so no matter what comes out -- it's still bravo!

  • I love the Beriot, it is very "her interpretation", and I cannot find any version better than this one -- at least no better than, I would say.

  • It seems that you may find your daughter a way to classical road. If yes, practice hard and keep a good looking -- I guess it is as important as perfect techique. Records company is thinking about money, and there are lots of people with good techique. Unless you have enough money to open a record company on your own, otherwise, it is difficult to come out of that kind of fate.

  • congratulations to katariina...is a girl beautiful and inteligent...congratulations from venezuela...you are my example...!!!! <3
