  • teller can talk, he just doesn't do it when he's on stage

  • I've never heard teller speak much but he can

  • I'm not sure if it's fake or not. I mean, Teller speaking? O.o It could be true, but not sure.

  • The people who call it fake are just jealous because they can't do that

  • There was a rod that held her up at her lower back..

  • the last chair bears all the whieght, and there is a thin board bettween the pallet and her back.

    ez

  • ZOMG IT'Z FAAAAAAAAKE!!!!!!1!!1!!!1111111

Of course it's fake you retards there's no such thing as magic.

  • bullshit!!

  • ok now remove the other chair

  • There's strings attached to the blanket. Duhhhhhh

  • i want to be in her place. :)

  • Why ppl saying is fake of course this is fake! But the thing is how does he do it!!

  • This is obviously "fake" but the question is HOW do they fake it... it always has been

  • FAKE

    teller can't talk

  • holy sh*t Teller just talked

  • @youmeyou9202 yes i do penn!

  • she was laying on something after the wood got remuved from under her

  • TELLER SPOKE, YOU ALL HEARD IT!!

  • @freazeezy No. Penn's a ventriloquist.

  • i know how that trick is done :D well its like the only trick i know how to do hahaa

  • @binnoshi lol what a hater

  • That looks so f***ing cool!!

  • nice remake of the classic :) very gooood, i know the original trick but no clue about this one.

  • FAKE

that is so not her natural hair color

  • @cwedds86 fake? no shit! XD so you think levitation is posible right?

  • @ryonafan

you obviously didnt read the rest of his comment.

  • @ryonafan dumbass

  • To the people who think they are special and everyone loves you for saying the trick, no one thinks that, we think you're annoying, and cunts, and need to stfu

  • @39120c Well said.. It's like they think it reflects how intelligent they are or something. It totally and completely misses the entire point of magic.

  • @39120c If that's what you think then Penn and Teller are the wrong magicians for you to be watching. You say we miss the point of magic, I say you miss the point of Penn and Teller if you think they want the audience to be ignorant and mystified. Go want Uri Geller if you like that sort of claptrap.

  • @dunbar9finger Um i mean for all magic in general douche bag. Next time you think you're gonna outsmart me, don't, cause you're not.

  • @39120c I apologize for making the false assumption I was supposed to speak to you as if you were an honest person. I was clearly wrong.

  • @dunbar9finger Apology accepted. lol

  • Not to burst all your bubbles...but the chair that her head is leaning on has an arm that is holding her body up hidden by the carpet.

  • Nice. :) Notice the second chair never moved. That's all you need to deduce the rest of the trick.

  • wtf teller talked!

  • What a beautiful illusion.

  • thankjs 4 ruining the trick and way go watch dynamo its amazing!!!!

  • @dunbar9finger That was basically what came to my mind when I saw it.

  • @dunbar9finger are you saying i shouldn´t have contacted the vatican about this?

  • TELLER SPOKE

  • i love penn and teller

  • the carpet was stiff so it held her in place

  • There's a board within the stitching of the carpet filmly stuck to the left chair, which is proven even more by the dip in the board they removed.

  • its the chair and the board. At 0:18 you can see him "lock" the board onto the left chair and actually hear it click into place.. the reason her hands are up is to hide whats left of the board with the blanket since you couldnt wrap that part of it around her.,the board cut away not squared on the "head" end. As it is on the floor you can see that. At 3:02 you can see the angle of the board thats under her (whats missing on the prop) and also see that hes locking it back in place. Pretty cool

  • Yet more proof that Penn and Teller are the best of the best. Look at the way that camera goes around the back. Just an incredible illusion.

  • @MrThatjim Indeed the camera checked out everything except for what it takes to make the trick work. :)

  • "I'm not going to do anything to scare you-- BOO!!!"

  • 2:02 :D

  • How the fuck do they do that!?

  • @FruitLooperLove Balance

  • @FruitLooperLove

There is a board she is lying on thats connected to the handle thingy.. They wrapped it up in the blanket with her. Thats my guess anyways.

  • @Jaiyeson You're right. Jean Robert-Houdin did the same act more than 150 years ago, though he made out the levitation was caused by the ether he pretended to waft under his son's nose rather than mentioning fakirs. It's usual to pass a hoop around the body and down over the chair to prove that no strings have been used. At the end of the day, the magician's shtick is more important than the trick as there is no magic, and these two have a great act; none of Derren Brown's "paranormal" nonsense.

  • @mjeshaw I like watching magcians in order to try and spot out how they are fooling my senses. I think the fact that they can leave so much of us in wonder is brilliance on their parts. I have never been a fan of all the paranormal BS either. I think its honest fun to just say we are going to trick your sense and not tell you how. I think it makes a person think more then just accepting it as magic and to me thats more fun.

  • @mjeshaw I'm sorry but are you implying Derren Brown makes any paranormal claims? If not I apologize but he has never claimed anything supernatural and does his best to always point out the opposite.

  • @mjeshaw if you ever listened to derren browns words you would see that he is taking the piss out of the paranormal, telling you not to believe it, then does something that seems like it can only be paranormal!

  • There's an episode of Jonathan Creek, I think the pilot, where you see how it's done.

  • I am dave ! Yognaut and I have the balls

  • @jchildhuntings I am Dave ! Yognaut and I have the balls

  • the board leaves a thinner board when it slides... that is why they use the carpet to hide it...

  • did you guys hear the locking mechanism when he puts the board on the chair, that was not a simple fall on top of the chair, it slides. :) you can even see the dark portion at that end of the board when teller puts it on... i love magic.

  • wtf

  • my guess is the left chair is fixed to the ground

  • @jamieariss when he moved it at the start?

  • @dudejack13 oh yea i didn't spot that! haha I just don't have a clue then :/

  • @jamieariss its just a thing we will never know o.O

  • @jamieariss "my guess is the left chair is fixed to the ground"

It doesn't have to be. Notice they carefully positioned her so most of her mass is on the stable side of the forelegs. Also, notice the forelegs stick out unusually far, and the chair-back also sticks out unusually far in the other direction. Her hips are right over the base of this table, so the table therefore isn't going to tip over.

  • @khayum yeah, im pretty sure at one point i could see the strings, or reflection of light from the string, briefly, but its there..

  • Comment removed

  • it was definitely teller speaking there, his mouth moved.

  • Teller spoke, yet....

    He DIDN'T.

    *goes into coma*

  • @stevensonbak Did Hell freeze over or something? lol

  • A platform in the cloth alone is not enough; the chair would fall over because of her weight. Something else going on imho.

  • how in the world do they do that?

  • 0:18 isnt him locking anything, its him setting the table thing on the chairs....

  • @shortblackguy yes he is, cause it coincides exactly with the "BOO". it's something magicians use a lot.

  • why would you come and comment on how they did it. the whole point of it is illusion. shut the fuck up.

  • Is there a support mechanism in the blanket or the straps? Because I don't see where else one could be hidden. Guess I'm just not that observant.

  • @hurricanejbb It's a very simple trick. There is a support coming out from the chair that is hidden by the blanket. She is basically lying on a table the whole time.

  • i know this trick they used see threw bendy straws to support the weight of her body lol

  • methinks that there is a board inside the rug, thats why he says, i haver your feet" she is supportred by a board

  • omg teller spoke

  • @34bokke99 If you look for The Amazing Meeting on Youtube Teller talks a great deal

  • Comment removed

  • @34bokke99 ventrilaquism. it was penn again

  • @efagels Actually, it was Teller.

  • @34bokke99 Yes.Teller does speak.Someone I know has heard him speak at their house.

  • @xr2z1 the artist can speak, the character he plays on stage cannot.

I think his real voice sounds totally different than the one sometimes used onstage. He also always holds his hand infront of his face, so you can't tell wether he is actually speaking or just faking it, while a recording is played.

But it's penn and teller... you can never know.

  • @liquidminds Teller throws his voice onstage but the interviews are his real voice. interviews in shows are not his real voice

  • @34bokke99

He actually gives lectures too :) You can youtube them

  • @34bokke99 He talks more often then people think. There is an episode of the Simpsons where he begs Homer for help because Penn keeps killing off Tellers, There is a trick they do with a wood chipper that Teller explains while the chipper is running so you can't hear him, and some others.

  • @34bokke99 actually. that sir, was an illusion. And you fell for it!

  • @34bokke99 he speaks a lot i find, just rarely during their act.

  • @34bokke99 When did he speak? 1:33 ? If, that's not him - If not, then where is it? I can't find it.

  • @BassmrDK when u here YES I DO PENN thats teller

  • @CoonarStreetmagic What! I never noticed that it was him! :P

  • @BassmrDK ye lol :D

  • @BassmrDK I think he's meaning a 0:45... Might not be him, but it sure looks like it :)

  • @Ruth94M Yes, I know :)

  • i think that there is a platform underneathe the cloth, (the reason for locker her to it) if you look carefully there seems to be a protruding shape from under it, meaning that her abdominal strength is holding her up, almost using the board as a push up point ( im not a magicion btw, so i just observed and saw, i may be wrong tho ) ;) :D

  • @urbanpkrider31 yeah i tink thats is it thats why they always use like a cloth to cover up the platform

  • Was that actually Tellers voice! :o

  • @pandaSmore

watch "penn and teller's greatest skeptical achievment"

  • These guys are awesome!!!!!!!

  • as the person bellow says, at 00:18 he locks her to the left chair somehow

  • how did he do that

  • @TheGuinnesstaster

Penn's actually a thief, the carpet she's wrapped in was stolen from Aladdin himself.

  • Wow, hats off to him for losing all that weight! He looks like he's aged backwards by about 10 years since I last saw him.

  • there great i watched them live afew days ago

  • i like them! even tho many of their tricks are easliy worked out its their show man ship and performace that i love!

  • ar 0:18 he locks it on to the chair

  • @simondavis91 but then he takes it away again :S x

  • @Thomitastic well he locks something on anyway, probably something hidden under the cloth and the platform slides away from

  • Pen and Teller rock!

  • WHO THE FUCK ARE THOSE PRESENTERS. WHAT A BUNCH OF NOBODIES!

    THAT'S CHAMPION!

  • Hidden board extending from the top of the chair concealed in the blanket able to support her weight. Cheap trick really.

  • he didnt talk

  • @MRTTVD He *did* talk. I've talked to Teller many times, and that's his voice. Teller often talks in the show, but when he does so, his face is either obscured (like he did here with his hand) or he's off stage.

  • i watched this and was amazed and then i watched Jonathan creek and he had the trick there...awesome still!

  • TELLER SPEAKS!!!!

  • oh wow he talked!

  • 3rd plus how the fuck do they do that plus I've never heard teller talk till now

  • @whacko247 He didn't - that's the point

  • He talked!

  • woow
