I had someone ask me about the bicycle brake. The good thing about this kind of brake is that it cannot lock up the front wheel. A locked wheel would do two bad things. It would wear the tire unevenly creating a flat spot on the tire and you cannot turn with the front wheel locked. The bicycle caliper brake puts drag on the wheel slowing the plane nicely from the normal 25-30mph landing. You do need to throttle back to idle or stop the engine to help out.
