Dogs are able to pick up on whistles or sounds within songs that sound (to them) like other animals calling out to them or howling. Sometimes it excites the dog, sometimes it makes him cross, and sometimes it can even cause them to be upset if the howling noise they detect is what they percieve to be a distress howl.
Ive looked at a lot of videos of dogs howling to songs, and they are all songs with howly sounds
