Im typing on it right now and for performance im sure its top notch. Though keys come off so easily. I've never experienced such a fragile attachment of the keys. I would never reccommend this keyboard to anyone.

@ChristianTheCoach I have the 7G too, but the keys never pop put when I'm typing or gaming. But if I try to take 'em off they are easy to remove.

@Wadefin Yeah you are right, though put it in your bag and go a LAN. I found that the keys came of so easily I hade to puzzle it back together on arrival. Also if you have a bit of a temper like me when playing bf3 or the like and slam you fist into the table, I have keys all over :)

Anyway some keyboards market there media keys as such and only work with windows media or blah blah. Can this media mute button, mute ingame volume? ei do the media keys act as volume control!

I've been looking at quite a few mechanical keyboards but they've all had bad reviews, this is one of the only few ive found without any bad words against it. Would you recommend this keyboard over any others out there even though it doesn't look fancy?

I would be using this keyboard if only it had a lcd display. After using a Logitech G15 for years, I've simply gotten used to the display. The clock is handy but nothing amazing. The thing I can't live without is the song info, volume etc. When I'm playing a game, I can simply use the display to see that stuff, and now that I've been spoiled with that feature for the last few years, I simply can't go back. :P

This keyboard is purely amazing. I recommend it to anyone looking for a gaming keyboard or just a great quality beast. It is incredibly well built, everything works very well. It feels great to type on, the keys (Cherry brown, I think) are a lot less loud than the Cherry Blue that razer use, and don't have that annoying click. Don't be put off by its simple looks, it is amazing.

yes all this talk about quality, how many of you ever touched one before to give your praise some weight? i have no doubt its "quality" being they sponsor SK gaming and it cost a woping $120. Good keyboard, but:

- Not the only one that has full anti ghosting (gamers, use PS/2!)

- Wrong picture: Uses Cherry Black (later in video), not Cherry Blue. And the Blacks do not "click" as said in the video. Blacks are linear switches, blue are clicky.

- This keyboard is definitely good, but you may be able to get it cheaper. First hit in google for "mechanical keyboard" will show plenty (Cherry G-80 are 50 Euros for example, at least in Germany).

@fatherjackdrink Yes, there is another fault with it, well the UK version at least.The UK layout board ships with the # and ` keys the wrong way round.I've had two 7G's (the first was faulty, but Steel Series were superb and sent a new one straight away) and both boards shipped with the keys # and ` keys reversed.Its a simple job of swapping the keycaps around, but you really shouldnt have to piss about after spending £100.Having said that, the board really is as good as this guy says.

I'm having a hard time deciding if i should this keyboard or the Logitech G510. I mostly play FPS and don't really use macros. The build on the SS7G looks really good and the mechanical switches seems nice, but the LCD on the G510 looks pretty practical and nice. Which one should i buy? Really appreciate the help.

@kebs10 I don't know if you bought it already, but the LCD screen is a gimmick. Mechanical Keyboards are better than rubber dome ones, do not get any Logitech ones. Even Razer's blackwidow series is a good mechanical keyboard; besides the Blackwidow Ultimate, don't get that one.

Cherry Mx black - what razer and steelseries claim to say is best for gaming.

But with Cherry MX blue, whihc has the fastest reaction time.

Such as Das Keyboard Ultimate / Professional.

In such a competitive market, company publicity makes their product look good.

Filco , Das, Deckboards.

All are mechanical.

if this had backlighting i'd choose this over the blackwidow ultimate. but it doesnt. even thoguh the blackwidow doesnt have NKRO , it's not like i would press 100+ keys at one time. i find the NKRO feature just as an added bonus, i need backlighting as i work in a dark room

It's a mechanical cherry mx with black switches.

These are the kind of things you use when you need shit to never ever die.

If you have an original IBM Model M (clickety click) you put it in the dishwasher once a year as maintenance!

(You do have to take off the keys first, and let it dry first properly.)

These things are wonderful.

I use a Filco with Cherry's brown switches, and it's wonderful.
