@TheDJVAQ partially. Deals with the typography and color theory. The animation part really isn't part of what graphic design is... but if you don't know your basics, then no amount of fancy animation will be pleasing to the eye.

@TheDJVAQ I'm a graphic designer, actually. If you're taking some graphic design courses in high school, make sure you get a good teacher. When I did that in high school, my teacher knew all the HOW's of Graphic Design, but not really any of the WHY's. I learned a lot of the computer work, but I didn't know how to do something by hand. Make sure you don't depend on the computer. Instead, only consider it a tool. In fact, the best Graphic Designers do everything by hand, THEN use the computer.

Try staring into the sun and when you've lost your vision, look at the world. You, trying to again perceive the information of the world through those green and purple dots, that is graphic design. Not the dots, not blindness, but trying to... See the world.

One way to look at it is to consider the less-than-vivacious voice-over an invitation to let the kinetic typo speak for itself.

It's not the voice that carries the message, it's the graphics and that's what the author wants you to focus on. If you can't focus, there's always Ritalin :)

I thought the audio was too quiet and soft too at first. After viewing a few times I must admit the timidity and hesitancy matches the mood of the text. The story unravels of graphic design as something he finds personally overwhelming. It ends with the epiphany of what life would be like without any form of graphic expression. Actually quite clever. A loud, commercial sounding, voiceover just wouldn't carry the same expression.

Even though, the voice isn't projected in the greatest way and the quality of the recording isn't the greatest the man is not saying "graphic design is blindness" but graphic design is more about thinking than seeing. As a side note, people has lost the sense of thinking and more on the side of just seeing. So graphic designers have to design so that viewers think more and see less.

I think you have to be a ysdn student (which I am) to understand the entire essence of this piece. Removing valuable nutrients and making you crazy is definitely the cost of what we produce, haha. I think the voice goes well well in this instance - it helps convey the whole, "design makes us nuts but we still do it for some reason" feeling I know all too well. As for the actual kinetic typography, I like your use of variety of movement and how you incorporated your graphics.

the audio quality can obviously be better, but I disagree the need to

get a different voice. It probably wasn't your intention, but the fact that

the narrator sounded like someone whose energy is forcefully drained
