kinda feels like youtube videos are like comic books in a way: bite sized portions of a larger story involving similar characters that you subscribe to
Nice job! I wholeheartedly agree with your approach to learning. It reminds me of an excellent teacher I once had that had the ability to translate complex physics subjects in easy to understand (non-formulary) ways. It certainly makes learning much easier. Keep up the great work!
The only thing about this video I thought was wrong is the fact that it's hard to understand what people are saying ... especially during the Q&A - part ... for the rest great video :D
regarding the critique of RSA "read-to-you" ... remember that these originate from europe, where many people can understand english, but not necessarily by ear or eye; this choice by RSA to caption their lectures is actually to help them reach non-native english speakers.
I understand tht a little fame can be overwhelming. But calling KhanAcademy "boring" is not something you wanna say when you haven't even made 5% of the amount of videos that he has. So just think before you just call someone out like that. Otherwise, I like your videos. Little respect for others is appreciated.
@Agreedtodisagree How does the amount of content created determine how boring or not your content is,or whether you have a right to call someone out for producing boring (yet informative) videos? Because from what I saw it was pretty boring.
@Agreedtodisagree With all due respect, I don't see how the amount of content produced dictates the amount of enthusiasm or interest generated from the videos. Khuan academy is mainly producing resource videos, like topics of physics or even viewpoints like SOPA and PIPA, a different genera than minute physics. However, with all that said, it still posses the characteristics of being unattractive and "boring." So the speaker's opinion is just feedback, not disrespect.
I think there's some good advice here, but I think the speaker is a little full of himself. I get the "I'm better than everyone else" vibe from him. A little modesty goes a long way.
the dude in the red shirt... i hate him so much hes so much like my last science teacher and that other dude who had the audacity to go totally off topic and rant about climate science.... i really wish i knew how to handle these kinds of people as well as the lecturer... can i call him a lecturer? i just cant sit down and justify talking about something as random as that when the topic has no relation. even if it is something im passionate about...
RSA Animate works for me and the nature of the idea can make the video as boring as the talker, yes
I cant say anything wrong about Khan, he shoes the right things in a familiar format and makes incredible reference material compared to a cartoon.
Alice and Bob, well what the heck is that skipping ahead to a topic incomprehensible to the target audience, electrons move so they should make light so the energy is lost so the universe should collapse, yeah, every one knows that. Brain explodes
I watched the whole thing I want to thank you. we need more people like you in this world who want to spread knowledge to others. I think to my self every night before i go to sleep about the universe and physics. coming up with my own theories. but too busy to write them down. but you my friend are great at translating your thoughts of the universe to us so it can be understood by others. hopefully this will be a comment at the top that actually deserves to be there. but once again thank you:)
I don't understand how people are trying to compare minute physics with Khan Academy. Its quite clear that they have very different purposes. Minutephysics will not teach you physics like Khan Academy, but it will make people interested because it is simple, clear and enjoyable to watch. They're both good learning tools, but I'd say that minutephysics isn't really designed for physics students, whereas Khan Academy is designed exclusively for physics students.
I'm so happy that I already know about Minute Physics and I'm glad CGPGrey also knows. My two favorite educational subscriptions. Maybe you shouldve put one of his actual physics videos though. One minute would be a treat to your subscribers!
I'm sorry CGP, there's no way you're getting me to watch this hour-long video. I'm going to start studying Physics for the MCAT next week, don't need a preview.

How the fuck does this man teach Physics? 10, 10 min segments would exceed the review duration by 10 minutes. Wow, just wow. That's 3rd grade math skills right there, haha!!
I think the music helps me follow your videos much more easily. I'm subscribed to CGPGrey who does educational videos on random topics. All but one of his videos has music in the background. I did not fully absorb the information given from that video during my first watch. Music helps me realize analogies or give me the sense of change. Funny enough, I never pay attention to the music but every once in a while I hear while I do critical thinking.
maybe you can make another channel for videos that would only make sense for those who have watched all the videos on this channel? it sort of builds off of this channel without alienating those who first come to this channel and know nothing about physics. maybe in time, those noobies can start watching your other channel because they would know more about what you are talking about because they learned it from this channel!
You seem a bit nervous in this video, but let me say this: You are awesome at explaining very complicated matter in a short amount of time. Your videos often lead me to wikipedia to read more about the subjects you cover. Thanks for your effort!
I actually watched the whole video I want my cookie now! By the way Khan Academy videos are marvelous and I learn very well from them, and therefore see no flaws in them.
Awsome Idea I hope you consider. 1minute physics, a very brief description of a topic. 2minute physics, more in depth same topics, and continue with different levels. 1minute 2minute 5minute 10minute. Don't compare yourself to something as great as Khan Academy. You have completely different target audiences and of course someone as educated as yourself would find Khan Academy redundant and boring, but for someone like me who is just starting to learn science at a higher level, Khan Academy is much more valuable and educational than your videos. You can't teach anything important in a minute, you can only spark an interest and then leave the audience hanging. Iv'e seen Khan on Ted, not you.
@HabsFan0718 well its more interesting than just losing interest for the next 3 minutes, its boring as hell without any imagination, and i probably have ADD because i get bored after 2 minutes, i have watched other videos who explain science and how it works, and at least in them they explain in a very catchy way how science works. But its very good if you need anything for college, minute physics is for us noobs :]
i can learn from Khan, your little things are fun but you cant really learn much. just because you have the attention span of a fruit fly does not mean everyone else does
Hey, I did watched the full hour, and most interested people will too, probably. You forgot to mention MIT open courseware, although they are only recorded classes, they are good because of the depth they have.
I see a lot o physics videos on the internet, but sometimes I'm worried, because I don't see much videos on specific topics of Electrical Engineering and Computation Engineering, at least not quality ones. Could you make a fourier transform video?
Complete awesomeness, couldn't have come at a better time either, i literally just set up a physics channel and will definitely take some of your tips on board. I salute you minutephysics man :)
@TheAlexdodd i think he was more talking about how youtube was done, like the channel and video making process. i'm pretty sure that's what he was talking about....
khan academy is just epic and you are some what similar to it and no its not boring of course its last fun than what you do but its much better than a lesson and contains more information than your 1 minute videos no offence of course i really like your videos they are somewhta epic i can show my friends how cool physics are :]]]
Hey ever thought of being a teacher well go to edmodo.com and make a teacher acc and make your student make a student acc the teacher will get a code for these grop and put your students online tell them grope code they will join so if they have a computer instead of taking these books they can do it online you can also send links for websites even YouTube videos I hope you read this and do it cuz I'm doing Thisr once because took to long and it is also free take it from me I am only 12 years o
I think the guy with the question misses the point about your videos. They're not intended to be educational videos.they're once a week blurbs that show the world in a new light or highlight something interesting about math or physics. With his tornado comment,he completely disregards your point about audience. The weather channel's audience doesn't want to study tornados so they're not going to show the entire 5 minutes worth of a tornado. I love what you do, it makes me see the world differently
Complete awesomeness, couldn't have come at a better time either, i literally just set up a physics channel and will definitely take some of your tips on board. I salute you minutephysics man :)
