There is no way you shouldn't choose UCLA are you kidding me??? All-around AMAZING sports school with incredible history, amazing southern california weather (this winter has been sunny and 60s and 70s the whole way, as opposed to blizzards in the east), 3rd best public school in the nation, amazing people, amazing professors, ALWAYS something to do, right in Westwood which is an amazing part of LA (complete with movie premieres), 15 mins from the beach, there is really no way you can go wrong.

The mother is phycho. "we discussed this" and "we spoke about this" are just a ways trying to assert her opinion as the accepted one already. The dad says "you go where your heart and mind tell you" and is absolutely right. the football? no so good reasoning. Ruling out UCLA just because of the distance from home "in case he gets sick" is just stupid. He (the college-bound student) needs to man up and do whatever he wants instead of what his overprotective mother wants him to

Go to a Big Ten school and major in engineering... Your degree will actually mean something. SEC schools are worthless. If you also want a good deal for school, go to Canada. Its actually pretty cheap there. Good luck with your choices.
