  • my opinion,,,MAYWEATHERS DEFENCE IS UNMATCHED,,,,,never ever touched the floor in 42 pro fights climbing through 6 weight divisions,,,,love him or hate him,,,,,THATS UNREAL

  • 1.sugar ray robinson

    2.SALVADOR SANCHEZ

    3. willi pep

    4. Benny leonard

    TOP 4 GREATEST BOXERS EVER!!!!!!!

    5. WHOEVER U WANNA PUT HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • U fuckers who like wackass whitaker are sorry fuCKz!!!! Theres a difference between defensive style & FLATOUT FUCKING RUNNING AWAY!!!! WHICH FAGGOT ASS "SWEETPEA" DID... If that was the case u shouldve went WITH ROY JONES JR. Instead!!!! At lease he would do all that showboating & bobbing & weaving & shit but END it with a KO.... DUMBFUCKS putting him in with the GREAT WILLIE PEP!!! Are u serious????

  • Holy shit, this is awe inspiring. Beautiful.

  • @ 8:30 why doesn't the ref call that?

  • Whitaker, the best.

  • Nicolino Locche is the best defensive fighter ever. No one holds a candle to him.

  • 03:24 WOOOW!!! LOCCHE NOW THE FUTURE!!

  • Willie had 241 fights. Besides Sugar Ray Robinson, I've only ever heard of Muay Thai fighters having so many fights.

  • @IsolationInstigation moore had a lot

  • pernell is amazing

  • Comment removed

  • james toney the best

  • willie pep, no doubt

  • SALVADOR SANCHEZ BEATS EVERYBODY ALL OF U MENTIONED!!!! u have to go back in HIZTORY to pick a fighter fuckn with CHAVA!!!! Trust me its nobody from todays boxing world.... & to dude who said gayfeather the greatest hahahahahaha YEA RIGHT!!!! even if bitchboy retires unbeaten... He still wont come close to a rocky marciano (49-0,43ko's) or a ricardo finito lopez(51-0,38ko's) shut that shit up REAL QUICK!!!

  • @TheFUTUREZHizTORY True Sanchez was great but, we have to remember that Sanchez died too young and the were a lot ifs in the future. There could have been a rematch with Gomez or a super fight with a monster like Arguello. Too see a Hispanic/Latino man among the best defensive genius in the history of box is outstanding. No one made Duran (the greatest Latino fighter in history) look like an amateur like Benitez did. It is my believe that Sanchez would have beat Chavez if they would had met.

  • God damn Benitez!! Nobody fought against the ropes like him!

  • willie pep #1 def floyd mayweather and pernell whitaker tied at #2 go check out pernell if you have not seen him in action its like the matrix

  • @homicidalmonkeyz exactly whitaker evasion is boarderline supernatural, so fricking amazing

  • Nicolino is the best ever defensively BY FAR

  • floyd mayweather no. 1 !!!!!! DEFENSIVE MASTER AND THE ONE OF THE MOST SMARTEST BOXERS OF ALL TIME!!!

  • Locche slips mad punches but, doesnt throw back

  • PLEASE HELP ME FIND THIS SONG AT 9:30

  • Jack Johnson

  • NICOLINO LOCCHE, INCOMPARABLE!!!!!!!

  • where is jack demsey ?

  • what song is at about 9:30 ?

  • It's too bad the defensive component of boxing never gets enough consideration. Too many stupid people want to see blood. That's why Mayweather deserves more respect for his skills, even if he deserves zero for everything else.

  • @DWaq32 exactly. I don't care for his mouth, but if I were a pro boxer I would want to be like Mayweather...no scar tissue, and no brain damage over the years. what an enjoyable way to enjoy a boxing career lol

  • @DWaq32 Which hard to understand since history reflects that most difficult fighters to defeat are almost ALWAYS the best defensive fighters; e.g. Pernell Whitaker (the greatest defensive fighter of all time), James Toney, Winky Wright, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Mike McCallum, Georgie Benton. What do these fighters have in common... none of them were ever stopped. Defense always wins out. It may not be crowd pleasing to the casual fan, but it extends careers and safeguards against undue damage.

  • @daTruChosen Floyd the best defender of all time. Sweet Pea was great but he took more punishment than Floyd.

  • @ddflannel Fro you to say Pernell took more damage than Floyd is proof that you don't know much about boxing. pernell's speech is slurred as it is today because he fought too many AMATEUR fights (something in the neighborhood of 250. but, as a pro... he was hardly ever touched. He mixed it up more than Floyd does, which is why he, along with Meldrick Taylor and James Toney, are the only fighters to land more than 400 punches in championship fights at least THREE times. Pea was complete.

  • @daTruChosen Don't put words in my mouth. I said nothing about his slur. Watch his fights and watch his eyes get swelled. If you say you never seen him with a swolen eye, multiple times, then obvioulsy im debating with a biased person. Now find a fight where Floyd was busted up at the end of the fight. I can only remember one.

  • @ddflannel As far as Niccolino Locche is concerned... it's easy to exhibit his reflexive and defensive talents against an inferior class of fighters. Pernell showed the same (I'd say better) defensive prowess against world class competition, and was still nearly impossible to hit. He bested Pendleton, Ramirez (both times despite 1st fight robbery), Haugen, Nazario, Mayweather, Pineda, Paez, McGirt (twice), Chavez (robbed), Vasquez, Rivera (twice), De La Hoya (robbed). What an opponent list!!!

  • @daTruChosen Same reason Sweet Pea left fights with swolen eyes and used dirty tactics all the time. You watch the tapes.

  • @ddflannel Whitaker is a better fighter. He's a better fighter because he fought better competition over a longer period of time, and his defensive skill is natural and fluid, unlike Floyd's jerky movements. Believe me, I hope he beats Pacquiao and remains undefeated, but a Pernell Whitaker he ain't. Whitaker won six titles in four weight classes and UNIFIED the lightweight division, defending his undisputed crown 7 times before vacating and moving up in weight. Floyd never unified shit!

  • @daTruChosen Saying Whitaker is better, opinion. He fought better competition, also opinion. Whitaker's natural defense left him with swolen eyes, fact. Sweat Pea lost a fight before he even got to twenty fights, fact. Sweat Pea don't have 42 wins, fact. Floyd's herky jerky defense leaves him looking the same as beginning of fight, fact. Floyd go 42 wins, ZERO losses fact. Floyd makes world class champs look like amatuers, fact. Floyd is ARGUABLY the best ever, fact.

  • @ddflannel You're either on crack, or you're Floyd masqerading as ddflannel. Floyd got his face swollen up when he fought Jose Luis Castillo the first time, DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley, and Zab Judah. Watch the fights again. And yes, Whitaker did lose a fight early in his career to Jose Luis Ramirez, a decision; like the Chavez bout, universally seen as a ROBBERY (Pea swept him 120 - 108 on ALL three judges scorecards in the rematch). Whitaker's face got swollen against Oscar and Tito, and?

  • @ddflannel Give it up. I'm tired of destroying you, man. Let it go. Just let it go. Whitaker was better... PERIOD. Don't address me with this issue again either, thanks. Peace be with you.

  • @daTruChosen I get it. Everybody runs when they can't produce factual evidence. But I hear you. Peace!

  • @ddflannel Saying Floyd is the best is ALSO an opinion just so you know and he was Right about Castillo beating Floyd the first fight whether Floyd REALLY had a shoulder injury or not , who knows? Floyd did come back and put it down on Castillo the 2nd time around. You can't compare the two because there's a difference between Floyd and sweet Pea ONE of their styles you CAN teach and the other is NATURAL skill ONE is Slick & Evasive the OTHER sharp &Technical BOTH are great in their own way

  • @fearedrevolver09 I know it's an opinon, I also believe Floyd lost to Castillo in 1st fight(record doesn't show it). If they can't be compared why do we have ranks? Floyd is better than Sweet Pea(my opinon). Here's why(my opinion based upon facts), Sweet Pea's slick style of athleticism eventually slows down with age when you don't have great fundamental defense(hence 1997 lost 33yrs old.) Floyd relies on skill and brains to win, athleticism is not his crutch(hence 40-0 34yrs old).

  • @ddflannel Athleticism is not a crutch now. We've seen Pernell's whole career play out he's fought great champions Like young DLH, Julio Cesar Chavez, Roger Mayweather and Felix Trinidad while Floyds is still going. it's to early to say, we can compare and contrast when Floyds Career is also over. atleast that's the way i see it

  • @fearedrevolver09 perfectly said.

  • @dannymadness1 Thanks

  • @ddflannel first of all i love mayweather is is pretty much my favorite all time but whitaker is up there on my list, in his prime he was a perfect boxer in every single way,his first loss you speak of was very controversial and he toyed with him in the rematch, his second defeat in 97 to delahoya was him out of his prime but still ranked number 1 p4p and still incredible when he put in the effort another fight that he just as easily could have won and many feel did.

  • @ddflannel also he did fight better opposition then mayweather that really is fact he had a loss to trinidad when he was old and way out of prime, was robbed against ramirez in there first fight, was probly robbed against delahoya, and also robbed against chavez with the draw, he simply beat chavez 8 rounds to 4 at the least!, pernell whitaker is one of the top 10 pure boxers ever on the planet, he had some personal problems that afected some later performances but its still the truth

  • @dannymadness1 also i like to put many of whitakers defensive skills in a seperate category, evasion, because that was his specialty, his overall defense still top 5 all time, but his evasive skills cannot be matched and probably never will be again

  • @dannymadness1 I agree Pernell is won of the best of all-time. I just believe Floyd has more poise and control in the ring. He might show his ass outside the ring but he doesn't drink or do drugs which Sweet Pea did and that was not smart, as you can see, if you're trying to be the best ever.

  • @ddflannel it isnt opinion that whitaker fought better opposition then floyd its true period, chavez roger mayweather, jose ramirez, azzumah nelson, james mcgirt, delahoya, and arguably beat everyone untill 1999 when he was washed up and lost his first legitimate loss to a man he would have humiliated years earlier in felix trinidad.floyd like manny has some top names on his resume but many are past prime where as whitakers were all prime, that being said floyd is number 1 of this decade.

  • however defensively i agree that floyd has better control, who ever sais hes jerky is absoultely blind floyd mayweather jr in his prime even as recent as 09 is one of the most brilliant boxers of all time that includes footwork and defense and countering and he has no wasted movement but is incredibly effective. i thought whitaker was very close in terms of defense and funner to watch because i consider him to be more of an evasion specialist the guy could dodge a bullet!.

  • @ddflannel Check and mate. I just beat you the way Sweet Pea would beat Floyd. Cut your wraps, ice that eye, and hit the showers, kid, 'cause it's over. Peace be with your crazy ass.

  • @ddflannel I've got Pernell on my top 20 P4P list... Locche and Mayweather aren't on that list. Whitaker is number 11 behind 1.) Sugar Ray Robinson 2.) Henry Armstrong 3.) Joe Louis 4.) Archie Moore 5.) Muhammad Ali 6.) Rocky Marciano 7.) Ezzard Charles 8.) Willie Pep 9.) Ricardo Lopez 10.) Roberto Duran... after Whitaker, 12.) Leonard 13.) Hopkins 14.) Hagler 15.) Toney 16.) McCallum 17.) Benton 18.) Foster 19.) Walcott 20.) Foreman

  • @daTruChosen CUT IT OUT!!! Pound for pound means the conquering of MANY weight classes. Some of these fighters you named never fought in more than two weight classes and some only fought in one. Floyd conquered six weight classes and is still undefeated. Did anybody on your list do that? No, because Floyd is the first.

  • @ddflannel Floyd's a great fighter, but if he fought a prime Whitaker, he'd get schooled with ease. Whitaker couldn't knock out a mouse, but he'd landslide Floyd's ass on points. Y'all young cats need to watch some Sweet Pea tapes, and respect the old school style. Why do you think boxing is dying... not because of MMA? If fighters like Toney, Jones, Whitaker, Trinidad, and DeLaHoya were in their prime now, MMA would be the side show it was when these fighters were on top of their game.

  • @daTruChosen First of all, I aint young and I watched alot of Sweet Pea fights when they happened. Don't need tapes. Sweet Pea was not as smart as Floyd. Sweet Pea was slick but Floyd has longer reach and is more fundamentally sound, defensively and offensively. Floyd would win,my opinion. No matter if Floyd is swinging or not he stays close. Sweet Pea does ballerina esque tricks to get away from punches which put him out of position to counter someone like Floyd. But hey, we'll never know.

  • @daTruChosen Floyd the best defender of all time. Sweet Pea was great but he took more punishment than Floyd. Ok! I m,ight have to take that back, I'm being biased. All these boys was on the move. Nicolino Locche was bananas.

  • @DWaq32 truth be told these guys are great defensively but the where real fighters not sit back and waiters like floyd.

  • @12jahwarrior Hold on, all these guys were great boxers. You can't win based on defense alone.

  • @DWaq32 well said, whitaker was my favorite in his prime the definition of a perfect boxer

  • @dannymadness1 I think Whitaker was even better than Mayweather. Yet if you ask these so-called boxing "experts", they would tell you that Chavez had a better career than Sweet Pea. Well, yeah, thanks to that robbery of a decision. As far as I'm concerned, Pernell only lost his last two fights for obvious reasons. The only time he was tested (against Hurtado), he ended up knocking the shit out of him late in the fight.

  • @DWaq32 Well said.

  • 03:54 Loche using what looks like the nowadays famous Mayweather stance.

  • This is incredible. All of these fighters were equally great in their own way.

  • Lovin pep

  • this is great stuff!!! love them old school fighters!!

  • wow benitez fought duran leonard and hearns and made them look silly

  • I never said he's italian!

  • I love the gloves 0:3

  • i would have likedd to see hagler vs benitez

  • Looking at that Sweet Pea and Loche footage, I think those guys must've wanted to stop at some point and ask with their heads toward the sky, "Are you fucking serious?" You should not be that close to someone and not be able to touch them. Especially when you've given YEARS of your life to being able to hit people.

  • @ShinMojoJojo LOL agreed especially when they're against the ropes 07:55 and 08:54

  • wheres floyd

  • I'm Irish and I think Locche is way more Argentinian than Italian. He also for me is hands down the best defensive boxer I have seen and I know for a fact there will never be another like him! What's the name of the songs used too?

  • Waching Withaker fighting is true poetry, boxing at its finest, that is what boxing is all about, just like Cus said u need to be clever u need to be smart and not to take hit when u able to do this u are fighter

  • No Jack Johnson? Also, the tall guy at 7:20 is Thomas Hearns, one of the best boxers of all time, and one of the hardest p4p punchers.

  • QUE LASTIMA QUE LOCCHE NO PEGABA NI ESTAMPILLAS SI NO AGARRATE MONZON,GALINDEZ Y VARIOS.....NO LE LLEGABAN NI A LAS RODILLAZ

  • SALVADOR SANCHEZ THE GREATEST

  • LOCCHE THE BEST !

  • LOCCHE 20 times better!!

  • Sweet pea got dip game

  • Grande NICOLINO, orgullo argentino

  • @JcLeopard 1

No doubt man, I'm glad we still have Hopkins :D

  • Sin dudas el mejor Nicolino Locche!

  • Locche es un genio !

  • locche=Argentino

  • Locche's record 117wins with 14 Ko's xDDDDDDD

  • So I went about my daily life and the beginning beat kept playing in my head, I need to know where you got the music from O.O

  • These fighters don't come very often, we may have Floyd but he's inactive, Toney is done, B-Hop is old :(

  • @BoxingComedian and just became the oldest fighter ever to win a world title. I say forget about Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao for the moment, Bernard Hopkins is a true ATG.

  • who d fuck can dislike this seriously?

  • great video great footage

  • i love this vid

  • great highlight man. loved the willie pep and the duran parts.

  • "I´m not gonna throw a punch, and im gonna win the round"

    -Willie Pep.

  • wildredo benitez best defensive fighter a crazy style

  • Benitez is on queer street, but I think much of his damage occured in childhood in bouts with his brothers. Very few punches landed square in his pro career. Pastrano and Dupas might deserve consideration.

  • @ChingaChe Probably he took the damage in his last fights against hamsho and Hilton. He took more punches in these two fights than in the rest of his career,

  • wheres Tyson ?

  • what a beautiful video man, made my day

  • floyd defense would beat all of this especially his shoulder roll that he perfected it

  • @cbb022585 true he's pretty good

  • locche by far, the best defensive artist of all time, or at least the most spectacular one...

  • You left out the greatest defensive fighter of all-time---Charley Burley. He would make you look stupid WITHOUT TURNING TAIL like Whitaker. Whitaker is highly overrated. Burley would make you miss like Whitaker while he's standing right in front of you. There's only one film of him but it is enough, added with Eddie Futch,Joe Louis, and Archie Moore's word. Watch this 154 lbr against dangerous punching Oakland Billy Smith. Amazing, amazing, amazing.

  • were is Johnson, the greatest of them all

  • greatA how should i train for defensive reflexes and moves? I just started boxing a few weeks ago and got my first bag, a body bob. what are other bags/drills i can do to really get my defensive reflexes up to par?

  • @chestermolester33 . keep that user name, and possibly you may meed to learn pretty quick son ! watcj vids of the greats like this and just practice movements on youjr own at first, then sparring of course.

  • @elainesman dude my name is a JOKE. it's fucking youtube

  • Nicolino Loche is just special [that shoulder roll mennnn] 03:21 to 05:21

  • Hell ye gd to see Nicolino Locche! Severely overlooked fighter. GREAT DEFENSIVE ARTIST!

  • 2:22 lmao i love those jabs

  • awesome

  • wilfred benitez just wow, know im only 17 but id prefer watching and studying old fights any day over a pacquiao or floyd fight

  • The delicacy forever in boxing: Willie Pep and Nicolino Loche extraordinary !!!!!

  • nicolino loccher, argentino, el mejor, the best, THE UNTOUCHABLE, el intocable.. capo, genio

  • The school makes the style (plus natural talent). There were as many Italian immigrants to Brazil ( almost 200 mill inhabitants) as to Argentina (40 mill). How many great boxers came from Brazil?. That said, the great boxing teachers and managers are scarce nowadays. Martínez has to leave the country after being exploited by a crook manager.

  • Comment removed

  • the untochable n1colino locche

  • Benitez was UNREAL!! Greatest elusive fighter ever!!!!

  • wilfred benitez EL RADAR

  • 3:23 LOCCHE is HOLY !!!

  • LOCCHE WAS AMAZING,UNBELIEVABLE.!!!!

  • ducking under the belt is not allowed!

  • locche was the best of all.

  • Go wilfred benitez!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • go wilfred benitez

  • the best: EL INTOCABLE ( THE UNTOUCHABLE)

  • ¡¡¡VIVA WILLIE PEP!!! saludos y que Dios los bendiga y pasen lindos dìas

  • Pernnell Whitaker, and then Floyd Mayweather in my opnion are the two greatest defensive artist ever.

  • Nicolino Locche did shoulder rolls way before Mayweathers and they claimed they invented it....

  • Nicolino Locche very underrated!!! He was way ahead of his time....

  • My two favorites are the "untouchable" and "Sweet Pea".

  • somehow Locche's reflexes and eyesight reminds that of a fly, very hard to get hit.

  • Look how relaxed Loche is. Staying relaxed is the key to winning a fight. Tension makes it harder to move and easier to read..

  • the thing with pernell is when he did get hit he could take it. he a great chin i think.

  • The sweet science

  • Gret job !!

  • @mookeychase0907: Also Prince Naseem was a very awkward fighter which made him extremely elusive and hard to hit.

  • @jesusneverexisted300 Yeah The Prince was good defensively but when Barrera beat him it took alot out of him he was more embarrassed than anything. I think if he would've stayed focused he would've kept the belt a while longer.

  • @mookeychase0907: Did you check out Burley yet?

  • @mookeychase0907: By the way, without thinking too hard, I will go with Burley from what I have seen he was almost impossible to hit. He was sort of a bigger version of Willie Pep.

  • @mookeychase0907: Look up Charley Burley on youtube. He was a great defensive fighter.

  • @mookeychase0907: There is something wrong with your handle because I am having a difficult time replying to you. I could not even respond to you last week and I am having a hard time responding to you now.

  • because he did not throw the body? again and again

Because they got tired TO DO THAT IN 9 ROUNDS!!

    jajajajajaja

    thats goes for all

  • Wilfredo Benitez is one of the greatest defensive fighter I have ever seen without a doubt. He was incredible! I would have to say the best defensive fighters of all time for me are 1) Willie Pep, 2) Wilfred Benitez 3) "Sweet Pea" Pernell Whitaker 4) "Pretty Boy" Floyd "Money" Mayweather.

  • @jesusneverexisted300 I agree with this list, Im thinkin whose number 5?

  • @mookeychase0907: He was avoided by the big name fighters, such as Robinson, so much so that he often had to take on fighters in 2 and 3 weight classes bigger than his! He still would beat these guys hands down. Go check out a film on youtube and tell me what you think.

  • @jesusneverexisted300 please tell me the name of that film if you can please

  • @flowhotcaribean: Type in youtube Charley Burley. It is not a film but a few videos of Charley Burley which you can find on youtube.

  • @jesusneverexisted300 James Toney is the greatest defensive fighter of all time

  • @tatertots00: Toney was a great defensive fighter but he wasn't the greatest. He might be in the top 3 as far as big men.

  • I know it had to hell to be in the ring trying to SWEET PEA!!!!!

  • sweet p is unreal

  • 4:54 that right hook looks more like an intentional elbow ~red trunks

  • nicolino era unico

  • Benitez!!!!!!

  • I used to be a fan of Locche in my childhood and I compared Sergio Martínez to him lately. But now I see more common points with Pep's style in the way of dancing around the ring. Plus he's capable of aggressive counter-punching like Pernell (but without humiliate his adversary). I'll never forget the night of the Benítez-Leonard chess game while I was in a medical urgency. Great school video.

  • NicolinO

  • Freaken awesome video man. Good shit.

  • 7:20-7:24 was maddness.

  • Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr used the same movements of Nicolino Locche

  • Anyone ever hear of Young Griffo, Jim Corbett, Sammy Mandell etc etc ?

  • Pernell Whitaker is the greatest!

  • Willie Pep is the greatest

  • Hey GreatA. Addie from ESB here, beautiful. Truely,. I'm a big E.S Posthumus fan and they are fantastic for videos like this. If I don't mind, I'd like to include your channel on my site..
