@robertfoeli1 My uncle owns a tattoo shop in California, and he specializes in calligraphy lettering and traditional Asian style. He always talks about practicing with the same materials as you work with on skin. Obviously he can't use his machine on paper, but he can try to get as close as possible with weighted pens and similiar ink.
Maybe it's not the reason this particular guy is wearing gloves, but others do this for consistency.
@NickSparkss ok, fair enough but dude, if you have tattood before its nothing like using a brush or any other medium for that matter, there are no calculated strokes like in calligrafi etc, its about nice steady lines to make it look as though it is a brush stroke or whatever, if you do it like a brush stroke ... well it just aint guna work
@robertfoeli1 Yeah I guess brush stroke wasn't really the best choice of words.
I've never tattooed before, and I don't know if I ever will. I think it's a really incredible skill though, and I have the utmost respect for the people who do it well. I can't wait until I get my first piece.

@asper783 how is this toy? its tattoo letters not graffitti, and he's wearing gloves cuz his writting is to damn clean
th4tguysmom 4 months ago
@asper783 All good tattooists practice with gloves on because they wear gloves when tattooing.
If he didn't practice with gloves, his brush strokes might come out badly because he's not used to it.
