Yes, I knew they are level 5, but I tried to say with the "new cheer" that now all star are the trend.. well in u tube.. i dont know if this happen in all USA...... well i mean now the most of the competitions videos is about the all star so.. where are the videos about college championshion 2008? ..so you can wacht a few videos about college this year.. i remember in 2006 or 2007 in this month in you tube there were a thousand of videos of college competitions.now is different,it´s my opinion

What happened with the REAL Cheerleading like kentucky, Ucf,, i couldn't wacth videos of them this year , just a few... so now there are a lot of videos about the "New Cheerleading" like Top Gun, Cheer Athletics.. yea that teams are great in showmanship, tumblings, but they dont have rewind one arm, 2 & 1 piramids... well i mean WHERE IS THE REAL CHEER----- where iS KENTUCKY???

The first two were pike open double fulls, and the next one did the exact same thing, HOWEVER, I think she did a triple full. I play it over and over and she rotated three times.

1) The jogging (not prancing) between stunts looks better visually than simply running with your arms at your side like most teams do.

2) It also keeps your energy up, body moving, etc in prep. for the next part of the routine.

It seems to be working fine for them ;)

They've got great stunts, but they could add a little more choreography between moves, instead of some of the women just standing there whenever their teammates are doing stunts until it's their turn to participate. I still love Kentucky's squad. They are the best.

in response to aaholubik you made a great point...but your routine is your offense and defense...i.e. you try to score points to beat the other teams by having a hard routine and you work hard to get a difficult routine to defend your score against theirs...just like in basketball,baseball,football,e­tc....so in my opinion you cant really use that as an argument to why cheerleading isnt recognized as a sport yet...because in a roundabout way one routine is your offense and defense in cheerleading

Checkout Bangkok University Cheerleading Team at 2005 Nationals. They would destroy the University of Kentucky and Louisville in a College Cheerleading competition. Their transitions are insane!!! I think UCA should hold a world championship so they can compete with UK!

I gotta disagree. Transitions are definitely insane but they also have minimal tumbling (only a couple of fulls versus 16 for UK) and no true partner stunts (they needed 3 bases just to do a regular rewind while UK only needs one to a round-off one-handed rewind). UK also has higher and more difficult baskets.

I understand. I just think Kentucky's transitions are too slow and intentional. Everything's muscled and the excitement behind college cheerleading is missing here for me. I remember their routines from the 90s and I don't understand why the explosive nature is no longer there. They win on difficulty only to me.

I, too, have to disadree. UK wins on dificulty, TUMBLING, execution, timing, etc, etc. I watched that Bangkok routine. Not BAD. But definitely NOT Kentucky. They had 3 guys doing rewinds and DROPPED their pyramid.

Well, to be fair this UK performance had its fair share of wobbles, but what disturbs me most is how text book the routine is you can all but predict what they are getting ready to do. There are no elements of surprise. It's the same thing every year. They are good, but I'm ready to see something exciting.

Dropping a stunt is entirely different than a wobble (especially when the drop occured with 2-3 bases and the wobble occured with only 1). I don't get your point about no element of suprise either. This year they did for the first time team fulls, the new transition to sweedish falls, round-off rewinds, and those awesome baskets. Using flashy transitions to mask easy stunts and grinding to music doesn't get you a title at UCA.  Dificulty and hitting does.
