@Gellvos I can't think of once where it happened in the films, and even if it did happen many times in the story that still doesn't mean that these star wars battles aren't based on the battle of Thermopylae. The films the games and the books definitely have ancient Greek mythological and literary influences. Also, bearing in mind that the battle of Thermopylae has been a famous example of courage and sacrifice for thousands of years, it makes sense that you would find its skeleton everywhere.

How do you have a draw in a major battle? Perhaps the Sith had too few soldiers left after the last Republic defenders were killed and were driven back by automated defenses. Still, who controlled the planet after the battle? My guess is the Republic, and the Sith simply moved on.

think about it: in the current SW timeline, theres was only a handful of jedi and a handful of sith, the only war raged in the current SW timeline was between the new replubic an the empire with its so few installations, after the destruction of both death stars the war was over, in the new SW MMO it takes place 3000 yrs before the events of vader, when the entire galaxy was at war, not just on a small spacestation like the death star, its fun to be part of the great war an learn some SW history

@cupcakefacexx maybe revan and the jedi exile were defeated by the sith emperor and imprisoned in carbonite for 300 years, and part of the story for the jedi you play in the old republic will involve freeing them so they can aid you against the sith along with that jedi woman who is the descendant of revan and bastila, that's my theory anyway, I hope it is something cool like that.

I love the story of the Battle of Bothawui, it reminds me of the battle of Malta in 1565 when an army of 50,000 Turks was defeated by an 500 Maltese Knights and 8,500 other Christian soldiers from across Europe. Very inspirational stories. :)
