It explains everything he could possibly have said in the short time before the plane crashed and his untimely death. Him walking and whispering to her is basically representative of his spirit telling her he loves her and everything is going to be okay although he's gone. That's how I interpret the video. Love the song.

I remember that this video was the most played vid in 1999. Brilliant, but sad. I doubt that this version will NEVER be played at the music video channels (Vh1 Soul, Padilla, etc.) Instead, they'll play the short version.
