Well I don't understand why people criticize her for the Compaq deal, because while it performed less than expected, after she left sales of Compaq computers soared. I find it hard to believe that they just soared because of new leadership, I think they soared because her plan began to work. There have been numerous articles in both Fortune and Forbes that have comended her for her leadership and strongly criticized the boards actions and lies in past years.

I worked for HP for almost 30 yrs and Carly came in with smiles and promises. What she delivered was to almost destroy HP, completely destroy moral, and yes, she did increase jobs; by BUYING Compaq, then LAYING OFF 18K people. She ruined two companies, now wants to do the same to CA. Carly was fired, but the damage was done because she made HP "hell" to work for and created a bureocratic & political mess like Lucient before, leaving them in shambles and stock at $1. CA needs help, but not hers.

Recognizable as one of the worst CEO's in the world. I live in what used to be a huge HP and Compaq town. Once Carly took over, we watched it crumble drastically as she forced a merger against the will of the Board of Directors. Needless to say, those jobs are no longer in this town, but overseas and there are still huge, beautiful commercial real estate sites still ghosted in that part of town. When those jobs went, so did many of the supporting businesses surrounding them.

I live in the SF Bay area where Fiorina once worked, and I can tell you that she is one of the most incompetent executives who has ever lived. She bankrupted HP - a once powerful company - and many hard working people lost their jobs because of her. Even McCain had to fire her from his campaign because of her ineptitude. She ran HP into the ground! She steered the company through the dot-com bust better than any of her competitors. It's easy to paint her as a failed ceo, but the opposite is through.
Ya know what, she's an unconventional candidate. She's not a career politician, she's an honest to goodness woman with amazing life-experience. I think we need alot more people like her instead of the stale arrongant Boxers in Washinton.

Her REAL accomplishments:
A. She drove Lucent stock to nil value and basically almost put them out of business.
B. She did not create jobs at Compaq or HP... she laid employees off and busted the companies into rubble by selling off companies.
C. She is full of poop.

Well I don't understand why people criticize her for the Compaq deal, because while it performed less than expected, after she left sales of Compaq computers soared. I find it hard to believe that they just soared because of new leadership, I think they soared because her plan began to work. There have been numerous articles in both Fortune and Forbes that have comended her for her leadership and strongly criticized the boards actions and lies in past years.

When Fiorina became CEO in July, 1999, HP's stock price was $52 per share, and when she left 5 years later in February, 2005, it was $21 per share—a loss of over 60% of the stock's value.
