That's not a Cupra R, it's a standard Cupra and therefore nearly 30 horses down. The Cupra R is the same as the Audi S3 and Golf R. It also has two late exhaust pipes which come up under the centre of the rear diffuser. The Cupra has one large exhaust on one side (is that car has). Good driving mind you although if it was a Cupra R there would be a better race!!

i´ve owned some clio williams, renault 5 gt turbo ´86, r5 gte .... about 5 renaults - driven nearly all fast renaults and now for the first time i bought some new leon cupra! i think the seat´s attitude of steering isn´t that much accurate as the renault´s but the engine and brakes beats the french by far and altogether the leon is a better package ;) greetings

@Woozillor Yea well , new Leon Cupra R cant compete with new megane in any way , its not as good to drive , its not as fast, its more expensive and has worse interior ( yes renault finally made a good interior not made from cardboard )

In fairness these are both pretty poor cars, quick but poor. They both can't handle there power for love nor money and they are both poorly built, however i have to say the Seat is probably the better of 2 evils, it nearly kills you when you come out of corners but it is probably the better all rounder and marginally better built. A golf or an ST/RS would probably be a better choice.

Im surprised the Megan got around the track without something falling off it or it breaking down, like that time 5th gear were testing one and it broke down after about 10 minutes, it was so embarrassing, French cars are really made out of spit 'n' tissue, its no good pretending, they really are hopeless when it comes to reliability, biggest selling hot hatch is the FN2 Type R and there's a big reason for that and thats the reliability/overall package of the Honda....

you can tell the megane can easily keep pace...even with some messy driving and gear changes missed, though the cupra seems to like to be thrown around corners..may be more fun, but the R26 is a better sport car

Megane R26 is the hot hatch of the year 2007. Better than Audi S3, Golf GTI, Civic Type-R, Focus ST, etc. Cupra wasnt even in the top six.

go back to driving school, next u will be able to compare car like theses ones, he could pass the cupra thousand times but he dont no what driving means so he stay back, why he pushed the engine into limit like he did, thats inutile , it breaks engineand make u loose time to upshift, and downshifting is shitty like the driver and the cupra .

Best handling Car is the clio 182 cup and for a 2.0l non-turbo there rapid...all these new cars got to much technology...clio williams/172/182 cups are the track cars to have!

I work in SEAT but I really have to say that Leon Cupra, with 261 real HP, coundn´t get rid of R26 with less power but, here´s the difference, with autoblocant, mechanism that distributes the force depending on the grip of each weel on that moment. I´ll wait for the Cupra II R, sure will come sooner o later...NO FEAR

Well.. the Exeo is not replacing the Toledo (but filling the necesary space above them) and the Current Leon R is producing over 260 in bank so not much new in the R (yes, i know it maybe will pull 270-280) unless they fit a LSD once for all

Thats not a CupraR... Only Leon 1M has the "r" in their 210 and 225hp versions.

"R" is from Seat Sport, and i dont think this new Leon Cupra will haver the "r" version.

Mate, every FR and Cupra series car are build in Seat Sport. The "R" was a "surname" to call a powered version of the Leon Cupra I (Cupra 210Hp, Cupra R 225hp). Leon Cupra II will be launched in 2008 with 4WD and the 265hp 2.0 TFSi engine of the Audi S3.
