  • any chance you could do one and say the names of household objects i want to make up a set of flash cards and stick them around the house to help me learn a little better....please keep doing these even if you end up repeating things once in a while....real big help to me

  • thank you for doing these videos, i would be lost without the spoken word as the pronunciation is so different from the written word ...you have made this hard language an enjoyable part of my study.....plus you are good to look at too

  • going to norway in a couple of weeks so could be usefull

  • 0:12 catchy title

  • Are Norwegians friendly to Americans (non rude ones :3)? I was thinking of visiting someday but am not sure how well received I would be. I've been trying to learn some of the language but I probably won't be very good at it for a while..

  • @Keepseeker I think most norwegians would be very open toward someone from America. We hear so much from it, and almost everyone speaks english, so communicating wouldn't be a problem ;D

  • i guess you could say vackre for beautiful

  • you sound more swedish to me when you speak norwegian

  • Beautiful - Nydeleg.

  • I LOVE YOUR ACCENT AND YOU AND SA PENE YOU ARE! <3 And you are my Norwegian language Teacher! :)

  • takk! Det var godt

  • The word for children is "barn?" LOL

  • @sobefobik eller "unger"

  • Also, can someone explain to me the difference between Danish and Norwegian when spoken? When she speaks it, I cannot hear a difference. What's the change in the accent?

  • @jalouchart Norwegian is more clear, we pronounse the consonants and vowels with the front of our mouth, while danish is a little bit more difficult. You speak with the back of you mouth and can sound a bit messy. Writing, the two languages is very similar, but not spoken. I favor norwegian ;)

  • I will soon need to learn a Scandinavian language for my work, I have the choice of Danish or Norwegian, part of my decision is which sounds nicer to the listener. Thank you for uploading this, it helped me to hear it more clearly and I can use it later for vocabulary. There are times in the video where your accent is perfectly American, congratulations on your skill.

  • Finally I hear the native language of my people!!

  • How many ppl say this shiet at the first meeting?

  • I hate the bad reputation that norwegians have when it comes to the accent of their english. Im 13 years old and i speak almost a cockney accent! :-(

  • In my opinion your videos are very useful for people, who want to learn norwegian.

  • Du er bedre enn meg i engelsk

  • Du er veldig pene.. keep it up.. mange takk!!

  • Beatiful language.

  • nice tits lawl

  • That's a very beautiful language. I hope to be able to speak it someday.

  • I love your videos, and theyre all pretty helpful, but you should make one about the music in Norway!! =D lolz, All the ones I find on youtube are all folk/folk metal, which I loveee, but I wouldn't mind hearing other cool Norwegian music. :))

  • @ICgoateee black metal lolololol

  • it is really very helpful, thanks alot, you are doing a fantastic job.

  • Thanks so much for this video! I'm moving to Norway within the year so I'm learning the language. I was born Norwegian but in The United States, so I'm very happy to be going back to my roots. :)

  • Here's a tip for anybody learning a new language, always write in notes what you what to learn, because you tend to retain more information in this manner.

  • you are really good at speaking norwegian! :D

  • @Wawanakwadude that's because she is from norway.....

  • Hm, luckily you're teaching standard/eastern Norwegian. I imagine foreign people having trouble learning bergensk/western Norwegian. :)

  • hi mi name Mariel^_^I am about to work with my norwegian host family and I really want to learn the very basic one like about asking a child of what they want like if they want something?food ?play?milk?water?or what they want to do?thanKS!!!'somehow I got words just tos peak with them a little^_^so also I want to learn more^_^'

  • im norwegian and i still don't understand! AND I WAS BORN IN MEXICO!

  • @morry3OO

    >Norwegian

    >Born in Mexico

    Wut?

  • @maxybbg There are many european groups mainly in Mexico City and Monterrey. Some places are more international and diverse than what you see in the media. I guess they have Norwegians also.

    Good

  • @morry3OO Dude I was just going to mentioned how I'm in freaking tijuana mexico trying to learn the native language! I guess i'm not the only guy that seems to be in a random situation.

  • Crienexzy You're a very good teacher! You get the lesson across. ..... I really like the way of your teaching. I like all your lessons because it is importan...

  • i have found out that so many norwegian persons can english but with the english speaking person they dont know the word "ja":O maybe they dont need to say norwegian cause there is so few countries speaking norwegian?: /

  • no offence and im just saying it sounds like you talk to an alien when you say the norwegian sentencesXD no offence dont take this comment serious i just said it i dont mean the rude part of this comment sorry if you find this comment rude: /

  • swedish and norwegian are almost the same languages :)

  • @retrofreak7777 No ahah

  • @M0vir No?!...I have heard swedish that is spoken in Göteborg and it's like norwegian alot :)

  • @retrofreak7777 Danish too. Icelandic is closer to what the Vikings spoke.

  • That was fantastic. Thank you so much. Greetings from Poland!

  • smaker godt

  • thank you!

  • oooh im nervous its all so hard to pronounce i feel stupid actually <///<

  • @soniclover1997 Me too. D:

  • You're so cute saying "unbelieveble". Greetings from Brazil.

  • For your defense,you are beautiful :)

  • du kan også si nydelige barn

  • Det var veldig hyggelig a mote deg

  • How to speak Norwegian? Learn Swedish instead :P

  • Thank you very much!!! :) I love Norwegian! ;) Takk!

  • thank you very much! this really useful for me!!!

  • great video--do most people there speak english or to vacation there do you need to know your language-thank you

  • @daveevegas I'm not Norwegian, but the education system in Norway is very good. The vast majority of people there speak English (or so I hear). Scandinavia, by and large, is healthy, wealthy and wise.

  • she is explain very nice but i can't listening to her because she is so cute :D

  • This is really helpful thank you :) One suggestion, could you perhaps do a video of how to speed sentences up? I am fine with pronouncing each word by itself, but struggle when putting them together. I notice on the 'Det var veldig hyggelig a mote deg' pronunciation changes dramatically when put in a full sentence.

  • This is great! :)

  • Muy bien, muchas gracias. : )

  • i ovde bih te jebao

  • keep it goin , wanna learn more and more :D

  • it's so difficult to pronounce it, i sound like a retarded moron when i hear myself speaking norwegian...

  • oh god, i love youtube now more than ever for bringing me to these videos, i think i just fell in love...<3<3<3<3<3 im being serious, you are gorgeous, marry me <3

  • jeg elsker norsk

    Fra marokko !

  • can't you say 'jeg er sliten' for i'm tired??

  • @magsantug Yes you can :)

  • translate "you've just been served" 2:36 hehe that would be nice norwegian slang :D

  • I've also been studying old English and it's so weird now to say hyggelig knowing that if I said thu eart an hygelice cnapan, it translates to you are a foolish/stupid boy, not nice. It's strange how two related words could end up meaning the opposite.

  • hello was here to ask how do you make your video editing ? hope i can hear from your answers back :) tussen takk

  • If there is not a good word for "BEAUTIFUL" in Norwegian, then the word that describes "YOU" would do very nicely!

Bedre enn 'vakker't, i hvert fall :)

  • 2 people must be gay and in the closet.

  • Luv your accent!!!

  • you 're very nice . thank you very much.

  • Haha, you scared me when you said "Natta!". Reminded me of my girlfriend when she said "Natta!" aggressively to close our conversation.

  • Takk for hjelpen, hver dag blir jeg bedre.En gang til takk, fra Serbia.

  • @zlatkojovanovic samo napred :) super pozkazuje devojka :)

  • @Duca3108 da ekstra ucimo svaki dan takav nam horoskop :)

  • Jeg elsker deg! :(

  • a love you

  • i love you so moch

  • beautiful = vakker.

"Du har fantastiske barn" blir vel å ta i litt i de fleste sammenhenger.

  • kan du dialekter da??

  • And another one is not "This is wonderful meal" but "delicious meal"

  • There is word beautiful in norwegian language "vakre"

  • du er søt xD

  • How do i say the word 'elsker'? Just write it here how you say it in English. Is it like 'Alscare' when you say it in the English way?

  • @PaudinsDrawings El-scare we say E instead of I. you gotta learn that.

  • @misssofs97 Ok thanks

  • funny because in english saying you have FANTASTIC children would be considered a more over the top thing to say than you have beautiful children. anyway , i think you undervurderer ordet vakker . det liker jeg!

  • karin , maybe you'd better tell them that norwegians usually pronounce RS as SH

    jeg eR Syk

  • @tiddler111

    BULLSHIIIET

  • i love how english and norwegian are so close but not lol let me give you an example this WAS a good meal when would you ever hear that? this is or that was . karin your vids are utrolig

Takk Karen for denne fantastiske videoen. Jeg er en filippinsk.

  • Thanks. Very helpful.

  • you are fantastic.can you explain me if the norwegians grammar is similar to german or greek? I dont know how do it say in english, in spanish we say a grammar of case.

  • @esteban1able From what I've read on other Norwegian help websites, many have said that Norwegian is mutually intelligible in surrounding areas, like German, Dutch, and Swedish. I'm not sure how intelligible it is to Finnish yet.

  • @Rainhylda Finnish is a completely different language. The closest would be Finlands-Svenska, which is Swedish with a Finnish accent.

  • @Sonicmountain09 Yeah I pretty much knew that. I've noticed many differences in the alphabet. I'd considered learning Finnish in the past and learned to read (for pronunciation only) Finnish, but haven't seen anything remotely close to Norwegian.

  • @Rainhylda

Finnish is quite easy to read, it seems. Much more like English than Norwegian but both languages are cool.

  • This is so so SO useful to me. Tusen takk, Karin! I am so happy to see every new video from you.

  • This is FANTASTIC!! i'm leaving to Norway in a week and a half!! Wish me luck!! Thank you soooo much for making this :)

  • could you maybe do a video on basic foods please? Bread, milk, eggs...ect. thanks for all the videos they help a lot!

  • Could you maybe do a video on basic foods? milk, bread, eggs...ect.

  • You are not suck !!! you are wonderful, I write it honestly ! =D

  • Du er så pen Karin. =) jeg er frå Litauen... Jeg bur her i Norge for 2 år nå. Og,du hjelpte meg å lære norsk... Tusen takk Karin... ♥

  • are there any ugly girls in norge? cause i havent seen none

  • "Present time"? Present TENSE! Hihi hoho... I think I should come up with a Bergenish version of your channel. Just because... the world need more foreigners with a Bergen twist on their Norwegian. Like this if you agree.

    Great channel btw!

  • Can't believe I just spelt your wrong, in my own language lol

You're videos are good fun, keep up the good work!

  • hallo karin, i have a question,, how to lyou know when to use deg or du and jeg and meg, bye

  • This was such a great video! I learned so much! This is perfect! Iove hearing the sentences! Can you and your friend do a video where you have a conversation using these sentences, so we can hear them in context?? You are so great! thanks!

  • @Odinsonn yeah kind of, but i think its horrible. Nothing says beautiful as beautiful does!

  • @kennijntje1 I just came back from my trip to Norway, did love the mountains & the Norwegian people but found Oslo a little boring to my taste, prices are a littlle demotivating too, but u live in a grand country with stunning scenery!! And a strong Norwegian Krone.

Have to go back to see Stockholm got to miss that in Sweden, BTW Sweden isn't nearly as pretty as Norway is!! You are sooo lucky : ))

    Greetings

    Ken

  • unbelievable, ikke unbelieveble :p uttale var helt feil :) takk for videoen. keep it up !

  • tusen takk!!!

  • Du har mye fint hår.

    Du har fanastikse trine.

    Du er så pen.

    Dette er et nydelig lært.

    Takk for læreren.

    Veldig godt.

    det er gøy.

    Tuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuusen takk

  • Omg ) My tongue hurts ..

  • the video was useful again but you seems like sick or tired really. best wishes.

  • @deryler Im not :) I have vacation now :D But to my defence this was made at 1 am :P

  • great, congratulations!

  • Thank you for this lesson and greetings from Kiel

    Nils

  • Ahh, Seyma! :D

Jeg antar du skjønner hva jeg skriver, hahaha xD

  • fantastic, love it

  • why is it sometimes "god" and sometimes "godt"? can you say both or is there a difference?

  • @justwatching777 Different about which word it describes. If its neutrual or masculine!

  • @Crienexzy thanks for the explanation :)

  • @klownn gmm.. "maten" er jo Mat. Så du sier Thank you for the food"..

"thanks for breakfast/lunch/dinner".

  • @Crienexzy ive heard that 'å mate' can mean 'to have sex', so 'takk for maten' would b 'thx 4 sex' ;)

  • @tafikaa Never heard that before. Takk for maten means thanks for the food. We all learned that this was the right thing to say after a meal.

  • Mange takk for dette video, Karin!

  • Niceeee, thank you very much.. You are helping a lot, expecially with the pronouncation of the words, becouse in our learning book that is not so well covered .. thank you a lot :))) kiss from Croatia :P

  • Very interesting. I wish I had a head for languages, but I've never been able to learn any other than english. I do like listening to them though. When I was a kid I had a shortwave radio in my room, and I would listen as I fell asleep.

I believe the closest I have been to Norway is Sweden, but I was there for less than a full day.

    STAY AWESOME! :)

  • It is a ''rule'' to skip some letters when you talk fast? Or it is just because... you say it fast?

    Thank you! :)

  • THANK YOU! These videos are great!

  • It's good to hear from you Karin! What's up?

  • your amazing i wish I could talk norwegian like you!!

  • So I would have used "sliten" instead of "trøtt". Is that also alright? Or does it mean something else than tired?

  • @youngjay12345 Trøtt is more sleepy and sliten is more tired, or worn out. That's how I'd describe it. I'm Norwegian too, just in case you were wondering :]

  • @Athiinaa Tusen takk :)

  • Takk for videon! :D

  • make a video on the alaphabet!

  • unbelievable : P nice show karyn. you should have an introduction clip - something that says "welcome to the crienexzy show"
