Is it really not obvious that Obama is just a continuation of the Bush/Clinton sell off of America? 500,000 FIRST TIME unemployment filers PER MONTH for a yr. In that same year, 723,000 "NEW JOBS". Those the "OFFICIAL" numbers.
"Can't be fired". WOW.
Please hold your breath until next Tues. We the People need your help in this "JOBLESS RECOVERY". You haven't "woke" up to anything.
My husband and I HAD to cutback. My TV now sits in our closet, so no TV( We don't miss it either)! Had to make the decision of the internet or TV. Well, the TV went. We eat mostly at home and shop bargains only. Shop online QVC and HSN clearance only.( saves gas). Buy 1 gift per family for the Holidays. We don't mind cutting back. It's been a good thing!
How do you like your hope and change? 1.7 million jobs lost. Double digit unemployment not counting real unemployment. Tons of money on a stimulus package that hasnt stimulated a thing. Cash for clunkers hurt the poor and the taxpayers. Healthcare being shoved down our throats. Imagine the taxes on that. We'd be better off if Obama didnt touch a thing.
Why is it that all your video you posted comment about on how great the baby-boomer's where, you deactivated all ways to reply by comment?
Shall we interpreted this as an agreement from you, admitting that since you knew that all you said is false or an illusion about the real fact that occured in reality, this was your only way to be able to publish a false propaganda that idealize your generation knowing you would be getting numerous opposition?
Sorry For Missing This Video OF Your's My Friend GreaTly Said Your QuesTion's Are Amazing I Wish You And Your FamiLy The BesT OF Luck I WiLL ALways Be Friend's With You And Very Happy To Be HAPPY HoLiday's And ALL The BesT To You GOD BLESS ***** AngeL *****
Hey buddy, I'm noticing your comments. Why don't you grow up and get a life. I just commented on her one video, how interesting it was. People like you, or kids like you don't even know the aspect of life. You commented on how she looks???!!! Why don't you put up a vid of you lets see if you're REALLY 45. From your comments you sound like a little kid. In other words to put it short~ Put up or shut up~
I just saw this, thank you. Don't you just hate it when people are so stupid that they can't talk about issues and just a attck on a personal level? These people make me laugh. How stupid
I remember the author of this vid. I sent one of her vids to a friend from my hometown, during the elections. Where she is talking about the heart of stone. How cold a rock can be and hurt friendships for years. Well, it shut him up for about a week then he started whinning again. Needless to say our friendship is over with, which I ended. I don't talk to brainless people. I just wanted to say that was a remarkable video that you put up Fringe. Good job and keep up the good work !
Thank you so much, I've been getting really atupid brainless comments on this vid and I ignore them. Impotence is a sad thing. Now I think I'll subcribe to you.
How old is she?Im 45 i can still date women half my age! This broad probaly sit around smoking ,drinking and bitching her whole life.i see a smokers face.
As for me personally, I cut back on buying anything that isn't a necessity. No movies, going out, etc. I have worked at a temp staffing service for a client now for over 4 yrs, and while I do get paid well for the work I do, I have absolutely no benefits or any paid time off, and with the downturn in the economy, our bosses no longer respect the workers ( which is now back-firing on them ) and if you disagree with even a small detail, they let you go. They want robots now so nobody is talking.
Oh no,Lunatic fringe you made it sound like everything was fine w/the messiah in charge???So now the truth comes out when your talking to your idiot liberal friends!
You know what I've noticed when it comes to Obama and rethugs? They claim him to be a Messiah more than a liberal does!! They are the ONLY ones that think Obama is a Messiah, because if Obama does anything remotely debatable, they bring up the word "Messiah" and all the rethug friends just agree with them. Unbelievable!!
We say it in jest you moron! Are you that stupid?I bet you're a california liberal who moved to portland to get away from the very taxes that pay for all the shit that liberals love.
I don't really have too much faith in this new administration either. I get the feeling that they are making too many promises that they will not be able to keep. I also have a feeling that this "stimulus" isn't going to fix the economy either. Time will tell I guess, but I won't hold my breath.
I read your comments and I share your views. But I do have a little faith in this administration. I watched the town hall meeting in Elcort yesterday and was impressed. Obama has already kept alot of his promises. I choose to trust him. I think he's very different then what we had before. I guess time will tell
I am giving him 4 yrs because he has one hell of a mess to try to clean up. I am against the bank and insurance co. bailouts, but aside from that, Obama gets an A in my opinion.
Now, if we have a 15% unemployment, a dozen wars going, gas at $5-8/gal, the DOW at 3000, etc, then I would feel differently ( whew, I think we avoided that, at this point, by NOT electing McCain or that pain in the rear, Palin )
Who said anything about that we should drill for oil in our OWN country, much less need to drill for more oil at all?!?? Talk about being a dumbass!
and dumbass, explain to me that why was it when Bush stole the office, gas prices went above, for the first time in US history, above $2/gal, then above $3/gal, then above $4/gal, and some places reached over $5/gal?!?? what, because we never needed oil before 2001?
Here we go w/the conspirecy nuttjob shit.Bush stole the election, blew up the towers and drown all the brown peopel in new orleans..is that about right you liberal retard?
Here we go w/ assuming shit. If Gore had a brother who was the governor of a state he won by a close margin, you rethug pieces of shit would be saying the same thing, don't try to tell me different! NO, I NEVER said Bush blew up the towers or drowned the "brown" people as you put it.
Well, all these assumptions you make, you know what happens when you ASSume something, you make an ass out of yourself, but you retard rethug pieces of shit keep going--you're burying yourselves even further!!
Set them numbers real high, huh?a dozen wars? get real. Now 15% unemployment,,,YES WE CAN! 5 TO 8 dollars a gallon gas...YES WE CAN! All his programs are gonna do just that.mark my words!btw we know liberals dont like to fight so the war thing is an easy one for him.
Seriously--you can't be 45 y/o or whatever it is your profile suggests. You sound like a 12 y/o!!
BTW, no the nations unemployment is 10.2%--a FAR cry from 15%--but nice try there. Why don't you tell your rethugs at the banks to release their $ they got so our employers can hire these people, instead of hoarding on it like they're all doing?!? Why didn't you say anything about the DOW raising over 4k since 1-20? Just proves, it isn't all Obamas fault for jobs, TELL THE BANKS!!!
I suspect that many people these days aren't saying that "this can't affect me, why should I care". Now, those that are still employed are worried about their futures as well. This event is and will affect all of us.
Frankly, I think that we are WAY beyond a recession; I suspect that many people are feeling that is a DEPRESSION! We have definitely cut back on many, many things.
No, I blame Bush for among other things, the outsourcing of jobs overseas that he started just after 2001.
Remember, trying to get these jobs back is going to take years ( if we even get them back ), & the banks not giving credit to businesses is REALLY affecting the economy as they can not hire new employees. This is the fault of the banks--not a president. You notice though since Obama took office, the DOW has risen over 4000 pts!! but unemployment climbs? it isn't the president at fault
LOL I know what you mean, does this sound like an auction:
Do I hear Mark Foley? do I hear Ted Haggard? do I hear Larry Craig? Do I hear Sarah Palin? Do I hear Ted Stevens? Do I hear David Vitter? Do I hear John Ensign? Do I hear Mark Sanford? Do I hear Michael Duvall?
You're right about one thing--the rethug party committee of hypocritical Greats themselves sound like an auction too, and those are just a few that come to mind!
BTW, I got an email notification about your comment you left on my page, and I am leaving it up on there for 2 reasons:
1. to show what a moron you actually are, and 2. because I believe in FREE SPEECH unlike you rethug pieces of shit who want to silence everyone and hence, you don't allow comments to your profile!
You believe in free speech? You just badmouthed a u.s marine on another video for his opinion. You're a real pc of work.Btw obama claimed free speech on fox news cost him points in th polls...waa waa waa, crybaby hussein ,the truth hurts!
Yes, I believe in free speech!! I don't give a shit if I bad-mouthed another US Marine--if I feel someone is doing wrong, I am going to point it out--that is what us LIBERALS do!! BTW, you can tell that other piece of shit KNIGHTWATCHCAM I already knew he blocked my comments long ago because there was another comment on that same video I went to respond to, & it wouldn't post, and I notice he too, does not allow comments to his profile.
Tell him to stay away from MY gov't-funded V.A. care!
I truly believe that we have to share stories about what's happening. At the very least we can get thing off or chests and also see we're not alone suffering this reccesion.
Good luck to you and now that I'm a subscriber I can keep up with you
I noticed my 401k was not making any money last spring. So last April, I withdrew 17 years of my money that I had put into it. This was long before the financial crisis. The company rep called me a "fool" for withdrawing my money. I put it into a passbook savings account where it now remains safe. So I went back to my former financial institution 2 weeks ago and asked to speak to this guy who called me a "fool". They said, "Due to the financial crunch, they had to let him go." Who is the fool?
This is a great topic for discussion. When I bought my house two years ago, I got a fixed rate at a great interest. I bought a small house which is cheap to heat and the house also had a wood stove and the owner left a lot of wood. My one neighbor keeps her heat turned down and it is freezing in their house. They have to walk around with layers of clothing. However, the cost of food is outrageous. Sometimes, I think it is cheaper for my son and I to just go out to dinner.
No kidding about food prices. At least you don't have to pay throught nose for gas in the bargain lol. To bad Obama can't do anything yet until he's sworn in.
Ok,The messiah won...so where is all the jobs and low food prices?HE HAS'NT DONE SHIT!!! Even saturday nite live has turned on him!I love you tube b/s i can back and read what you fools wrote when you thought obama was gonna save you.Don't be a fool,Cap and trade, global warming and all the other crap he is trying to pass on staurday nites is gonna drive up utility prices...sky high!
I think you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned the real changes in everyone's state of mind and the reign of panic - there is potential for true danger there. (I don't mean to discount the real affect these economic times are having on people and jobs, etc. but our attitudes and fear are playing a role, too.)
I hear that. So are we. You work and work and can't seem to get anywhere. There are so many stories like yours and mine and I haven't heard one thing mentioned about us.
I am struggling financially but very positive. My personnal opinion is whilst we learn to live with few pennies we do have we also learn that those extra pennies did not bring the happiness that we share just by being with and doing the 'free' things we love to do. I will not accept the negativity because only good can come from this.
Glad your back, Joy! Financial crisis? OUCH! We have also cut back on the 'tiny indulgences'. We can see the ripple effect and realize 'everyone' is vulnerable! Yes, friends with 'pension plans' have been told it is bankrupt! OUCH! And, I can't deny, I do feel as if the 'urgent, quick fix' was contrived and insane, and since 'insanity' rules, no sane person can predict how to protect what they have left!
SO! Yes, I'm looking forward to your trips down memory lane! A 'free' distraction! Thanks!
Good to see you on my screen again, Joy. And yes, more Theater videos!!! As for the economy, it hasn't affected me directly yet, but I am avoiding unnecessary purchases in anticipation of some ripple effect. Someone close to be has lost a job in the last week due to the slow down. I never talk much about work (it is company policy - and mine- to keep one's personal activities separate from work), but let's just say we are operating with an awareness of what is going on.
Hi Phil, I'm so happy you saw this. Not one video so far has talked about what's happening to us so I thought I would. I'm back and besides Paul Newman, I'm going to talk about the night The Rocky Horror Show opened on broadway. That story is wild
well its about time you come back young lady =P Missed ya. Looking forward to your stories again. As far as your question, how has the market effected my life. All i can say is i haven't seen a major difference. Each month, living on disability is extremely hard to make ends meet. And having to rely on a credit card to get food on the table is only prolonging the inevitable. I just hope we can pull out and change before that limit is maxed out.
Fortunately we haven't been affected yet though I've lost about 15% of my business.
---
It's going to be difficult no matter which party gets the white house. I just hope that the overheated rhetoric from the supporters of each side will quickly die down. Enough of the hate.
It's certainly affecting my business in a negative way, and other people in my family in even worse way I guess. Ive had a family member who lost their home because of losing their job due to cutbacks, and it just SUCKS.
Yanno the comments on this video where incredible. Some people were embarrased to say that they lost a job or a house, as if it was their fault. My other daughter can't find a job and she and my grandson may have to move in with me.... It's bad. Thanks for comming over here
if everyone boycotted fast food restaurants, the economy could collapse...we need consumer spending to be up. WHY? b/c those spenders make money for my company that pays me and then I SPEND at company C & D and those employees there get paid b/c I spend my money there and then the C & D company employees spend their money xyz... and so folks- if you quit spending money--- whole industries could collapse. IN ORDER for the ECONOMY to survive CONSUMER SPENDING must increase!
It's true that we should start spending again. But so many of us just don't have any money to spend on anything right now except for the essentials. That's how bad it is
In 2001, when GW Bush stated "Spend Money" That in no way meant go in to debt!!!!!
He meant go out and do what you do, ok, argue that point, Im sure many will!
NO ONE took a loan that they did not have a right or a responsibility to read, and if they signed that loan and are surprised it ballooned in 5 years....shame on them!!!
It is not the tax payers responsibility to pay for inept, or STUPID buyers.
Of course they should have read their loan. But you know as well as I that most of them were just happy to hear that a bank would give them a loan. Soften your heart there kiddo
if i want to throw away money i'll give it to my DIL and she will spend it on meth. of course she'll deny she's using, and promise to pay me back, but after 10 years of the same actions, somehow i just don't believe her.
i don't, haven't in years. considering that my 73 yr old mom is now raising the great-grandchild, and we had to spend and sell everything we had to pay lawyers because DHS, CPS, welfare nor the police did not do their job to protect the child and took her from me and sent her to an abusive home when we have dozens of family members who were more than willing, including myself, to take the precious baby, i'd say we're beyond that.
except the child, she will be messed up forever in some ways.
Let me tell you something. I may be in the same position soon. I may have to take my grandson in with me to raise. It's a long story but I'll do anything for that little boy
Oh Lew. You're being to ridged here. Did you ever hear of predatory lending? Of course you did. The bank tells a customer not to worry because now they can own a home due to new guidlines. Who wouldn't want to listen to the so called experts and have their dream. Common my friend
Yep I know about that. But in my friends case they are subbing. Here also teachers are not being hired and a few have been fired, but they still need those subs. Man it's bad
i have seen people go to jail because they can not support their families and did things they otherwise would not have done except for the desperation directly caused by the ruthless practices of industry particularly the shuffling of manufacturing around the globe so as to avoid responsibility for the impact of said industries on the universal environment.
good to see you back! yeah, there's anger- we've all started to fight each other and not what we should be fighting. exactly what the neocon elite wants. it's depressing. if a person hasn't cut back, or isn't worried about their job- if nothing has changed in the last couple of months- those people are either rich, or rely on other people for their financial responsibilites. peace
I have cut back completely on all my entertainment expenses. Instead of dinner and movies, I gather with friends to play cards, its free and still fun. I also try to drive very little with the cost of gas. I am on disability, so it doesn't affect my job. Congrats to your daughter on getting a great new house at a good price. Now is the time to buy, for sure. In fact, I am condo hunting now, too. I think I have found one, as well. Great price, too. Nice to see your videos again!
Joan hugs to you. It's good to see you again. We are also feeling it. We don't drive unless we have to. But I have to tell you I think we're lucky in that I'm on dissability like you and my husband has his social security. Plus he subs at our schools. I never thought that being on a fixed imcome would be a good thing. Good luck on your condo, I'm so happy for you
good to see you back,it is affecting us in the uk in a big way,i am safe at the moment,i work within the building industry, love and respect scotty and libby:0)
I heard you guys are also feeling it. I also heard that your banks are failing like ours are. This is world wide now and I'm really scared. Mostly for my other daughter who has lost her job.
Hi Joy, nice vid as allways! Here in the Netherlands it is not that bad like in the USA. One bank was in trouble and is taken over by the state, but infact it had nothing to do wich the crash. The other banks seem firm. Personaly, i had some loss on shares. I hope it comes well with all the people that are less lucky.
Hey good to see you again. Well it looks like our gov't is taking partial ownership in our banks now by buying up shares. Maybe that will help. Our new President (Obama), fingers crossed will have a reall mess on his hands after this
Hello Joy! Things around here are no different and i'm so afraid i loose my job! That would mean a lot sadness, not being able to see some people i love because of moey would be very very hard!
FELIX, hugs. I hear this is going on everywhere. One good thing for you is that your young and you'll survive. This will pass but it may take years. I'm so happy you commented on my vid
It's nice to see your optimism, especially about your daughter getting a great deal on their new home. I myself am still quite cautious about ever having a mortgage and/or car payment right now because I feel that the worst (unthinkable)is yet to come.
I agree with that. I also think the worst is yet to come. My daughter bought their house just 2 months before this crash. Had it been two months later she wouldn't have been able to do that. But my other daughter has lost her job and I'm worried. She can't seem to find another one. Thanks my friend for sharing this.
I don't know what your daughters work capability is, but tell her to try applying with auction companies. I work for one, and we are busy as bees....
Also another thought.... If governments around the World are bailing out their banking industries to keep the credit markets/economies going, then what's going to happen when these(& our)government(s) become tapped out. It's going to be World Bank/IMF to the rescue. They will take over everyones debt, and that includes car, home, school, etc. loans.
Auction companies? I swear I've never heard of them. I'll look into it and tell her. She's in the dental field which is the most horrible field to be in when it comes to benefits. They don't give health insurance and pay low. But she has her degree but the Dr.s are not hiring now. I'll tell her about this
Can you give me more info about the auction field?
There are basically 2 common types of auction companies. There's the type that sell homes & their furnishings or automotive auction companies. Both are booming right now. I work for an automotive auction that picks up over 1,000 vehicles per week to auction off every week.I would suggest looking in your local yellow pages to find out which ones are near you. Most are still accepting applications for drivers, clerical, prep people, etc..
A vaccine produced by Baxter in China killed 1380 americans. Melamine in food as an additive, lead in plastic-based products, toxins in candy. This has been planned my friends. Planned by incompetents who assumed Americans would not pay to buy American quality at an American price. The USA is now officially a WalMart state.
To bring the economy back is simple; buy from you local stores for food and everyday needs. For clothes, etc, if made in China leave it on the rack... Be smart...
Great advice, I wish more people would do this. Give the corporate types hives. Just say no to suspect goods made in a country with even less regard for consumer safety than the Bush Administration.
To use the cliche from the Queen Bitch of the eighties, when it comes to crap from China "Just Say No"
Wow! Thank you! You seem to be aware of whats going on and truly concerned, keep putting out the good message, time is running out and we have no room left for maneuvering.
The reefs that will sink our ship of state are named Palin shoals and McCains folly. Please everybody, make sure we steer clear, they are plainly marked and well 'lit', but if we are asleep at the tiller, BOOM, we are sunk.
I love how you put that. Palin shoals and McCains folly. It's true and their dangerous for us now. Obama has a major lead right now and I pray it stays that way. He'll be on network TV for a half hour on oct 29th. That should do it.
LMAO! I'm glad to brighten your day (and darken the Neo's)
I think that humor is like Kryptonite to Neo's, and I try to be an A-10 circling the political battlefield looking for fat smug conservative T-62's trailing smokey plumes of B S which I swoop in on and unload armor piercing Kryptonite rounds into.
I really enjoy watching them explode in indignant (and sometimes vulgar) frustration.
After 8 years of W's drunken frat house toga party kegger administration, I have a load of ammo.
Oh you are hysterical. I love your way of putting things. I just tried to subscribe to you but I see you don't make vids :(. How can I find you. Or how do I sub to you.
That's coming to a theater too near to you soon ;-)
In all reality, I am seriosly thinking of doing a few, and I guarantee you, not everyone will be amused. But those dear sweet lefty loony moon bats will. And I dare say I will be cleaning up my comments board quite often.
i was thinking that too. matter of fact I said it to the screen as I was watching her vid. Love her to pieces though. I will post a vid response soon.
To make one more penny per share, corporations have closed plants in the USA and moved them to China, only to have their technology copied by the chinese. social conscience at its best...
The end result has been lower wages here ''to stay competitive'' (humm) and faster product turnover as you have to purchase crap, the only things selling on the market. Blame your corporations and their immense greed to satisfy even greedier shareholders. And to top if off, what is being imported can kill you.
Thanks for commenting. It's true what you're saying. The imports are sub quality and because of deregulation people are getting sick. Lead in toys plus all the other crap is a by product of what's happened here
I'm in central Texas, work starting to get slow.. we make medical tools and implants for the spinal industry..thats about it.. not many fourclosers.. resturants full..my family lives in california and i cant say the same for them... from what i hear.... I moved out of california because of the housing bubble.. was born and raised there .. never had a credit card or a car payment.. was not going to get an interest only loan on a house.. like my friend was trying to talk me into..so we left Ca.
You did the right thing. Good for you about not wanting to owe money. Here in Naples Florida, we are seeing restaurants close, bussinesses close and this is a well to do town. I think it's going to get worse before it gets better. Thanks for commenting
woooohoo glad to see you back! thanks for posing the question too, you're right, I haven't seen that one addressed on YT yet...way too much to say than can do here in a comment...I will post vid response soon :)
Good video..I started cutting back when gas prices hit the ceiling. staying home more, buy only what is necessary. I have faith it will all work out, God willing. Who ever gets to be president, they have there work cut out for em.
Paul Newman great, great actor but an even better person. One of my all-time faves. Emprie Falls and Nobodys fool..two roles that he took on late in his career and was still able to steal the show! I remember listening to 20 something actresses swooning over Paul..and he was in his mid 70's! RIP Paul. A gentleman who always gave to those in need. That is the best compliment a man can get in my opinion.
Great to see you back Joy. I need to get a vid up myself but once I get started I just dont stop...just too much to bitch and moan about to squeeze into 10 minutes. I think depression is here just a matter of time before everyone gets it. The worst time I can ever remember and yes,we all said this would happen with the GOP economic system. Time to throw the bums out on their ass!
How has it affected me? The KRW has dipped 30% in the last month. While inflation here hasn't taken up roots, so I haven't had to change things... but when looking at helping people back home, that means in the last month I've lost 30% of my salary.
Glad to see you again so sorry about your friends. As a previously vlogged, I work for the airline industry and my wife for the financial services industry 2 industries that are not in the healthiest condition. So both of us are worried but to date, we are still both employed. Like you we cut back and hope for the best. As far as the market its not considered a loss until you sell so we wait and hope. Welcome back.. Paul will be missed.
It's really great to see you vlogging again! This stock and credit thing is beginning to hurt a bit. My business is down a bit compared to past Octobers and it's a little harder to keep up with the bills, but my investments have been taking a serious dive. I hope things go very well in the next twenty years or retirement won't be good at all...
So nice to see you vlogging Joy. Good for your daughter! Overall I'm not too affected by whats been happening in the financial world. But like you said it does affect us one way or another. I know for me going to the grocery store and seeing that money isn't going as far as it use to is unsettling. So I can't imagine if I were trying to feed a family.
Whoohoo Joy is back and better than ever! Can't wait to hear the theatre stories again. Plus of course your great political vlogs. :)
Hello again :) The subject matter here is a bit distant to me being over in the UK etc, although they are talking doom and gloom. I personally work to maintain a positive attitude - there are always opportunities in every environment, although granted it takes effort to look for them when things change suddenly etc.
You met Paul Newman - wow!
Look fwd to more videos from you....I think it is fine to take breathers now and then on YT!!
I am definitely feeling it. My IRA's valuation has dropped from $150K to $90K alone. Overall loss is more than $100K this year, with no end in sight. Am waiting for even ONE Wall Street CEO to come forward, and say "We scrwed up and we will make this right."
My situation has been a little different from most because I'm still finishing school so I'm out of the full time job market right now, plus my financial "tightness" wasn't related to the economy. I HAVE drastically cut back my driving - and overall spending.
Graduation will soon come and it will be time to rejoin the workforce, though... I gotta say, I'm concerned.
Hey Joy it's so good 2 see you make a new video!! The thing that sucks 4 me is that the price of Coal and Nat Gas is going down I think you know thats how I make my money so whats good 4 most people is not good 4 me...
Welcome back, I just started to get to know you and then you were gone so I am happy you have returned;)
Yes, the market has affected us. We no longer can afford gas, food, electricity, purified water, health care...just had to give up a few luxuries!
Not trying to be a smart ass, simply trying to make an important point. This financial situation WILL affect us all!!! I am so happy you made this vid, it is real and very important. Hope you will do more;)
Hey you're not being a smart ass at all. I think we are all embarrased to tell our stories. That's why I did this video. Most of us are hurting big time and we should let everyone know about it. You do everything right and boom this happens. I'm so glad you stuck with me during the time I was gone.
how is your daughter doing lately? welcome back...i was complaining but i just got a well paying job that started monday past...can i still complain? yeah, paul newman was mack! lol...take care ms. joy:)
Joy, good to see you! As for the economy, I was forced to close a business that was in my family since 1960. It broke my heart. I inherited it from my Mom in 1988. During the 90's I was doing well. Business was awesome. Then things started to decline. I blame the Bush Administration. People started to cut back. Now I'm a self-employed/independent contractor. The stress is better, but the money is not. Thanks for doing this.
Mimi hugs to you. Wow closing your family bussines must have been heart renching. In our town we are seeing established bussines and restaurants closing their doors. My other daughter, not mentioned in this vid is in dire straights. They both lost their jobs and can't find new ones. They may lose their house next month. I also blame the Bush admin.
lil things are going up...cat food by FIVE DOLLARS A BAG recently...i am good at being frugal tho...bush's cut to many things over the past few years have had me paying more for all sorts of things already...
my job? well they say its fine. they say.
i have this sick feeling in my stomach about our future right now. still some hope tho, not sure from where, maybe thats just me?
Good to see you too. I'm finding that food has risen to rediculous prices. Milk has risen to 4 to 6 dollars a gallon depending on which brand you buy. I have two friends who've lost jobs and can't find new ones. We are ok for now since ny husband is a teacher but I'm really scared.
You look marvelous Joy! It hasn't affected us personally, and I don't know anyone who has lost a job, but then I haven't seen our 401K statement yet and don't look forward to looking at it.
Marvelous is a good word in light of how I'm feeling these days. Thanks my friend. We are ok so far but like you I have know idea about my 401k. My other daughter though is really struggling. I'm worried about her.
I'm so glad you're still with me after all this time
you rock :)

We'd be better off if Obama didnt touch a thing.

soory to post this here but it's my only way:
Why is it that all your video you posted comment about on how great the baby-boomer's where, you deactivated all ways to reply by comment?
Shall we interpreted this as an agreement from you, admitting that since you knew that all you said is false or an illusion about the real fact that occured in reality, this was your only way to be able to publish a false propaganda that idealize your generation knowing you would be getting numerous opposition?

Hey buddy, I'm noticing your comments. Why don't you grow up and get a life. I just commented on her one video, how interesting it was. People like you, or kids like you don't even know the aspect of life. You commented on how she looks???!!! Why don't you put up a vid of you lets see if you're REALLY 45. From your comments you sound like a little kid. In other words to put it short~ Put up or shut up~

No, I don't believe in government handouts, bailouts, redistributing the wealth or any other concockted non-sense you rethugs dream up!
I don't believe in going on welfare by choice either.

cobraman96 2 years ago
You know what I've noticed when it comes to Obama and rethugs? They claim him to be a Messiah more than a liberal does!! They are the ONLY ones that think Obama is a Messiah, because if Obama does anything remotely debatable, they bring up the word "Messiah" and all the rethug friends just agree with them. Unbelievable!!
portlanddem 2 years ago
We say it in jest you moron! Are you that stupid?I bet you're a california liberal who moved to portland to get away from the very taxes that pay for all the shit that liberals love.
cobraman96 2 years ago
I don't really have too much faith in this new administration either. I get the feeling that they are making too many promises that they will not be able to keep. I also have a feeling that this "stimulus" isn't going to fix the economy either. Time will tell I guess, but I won't hold my breath.
SkedBoard 3 years ago
I read your comments and I share your views. But I do have a little faith in this administration. I watched the town hall meeting in Elcort yesterday and was impressed. Obama has already kept alot of his promises. I choose to trust him. I think he's very different then what we had before. I guess time will tell
Fringe111 3 years ago
Show's how stupid you are.You are so antibush you buy into this b.s. last time i checked we have 9.8% unemployment
cobraman96 2 years ago
I totally agree with you, Joy!
I am giving him 4 yrs because he has one hell of a mess to try to clean up. I am against the bank and insurance co. bailouts, but aside from that, Obama gets an A in my opinion.
Now, if we have a 15% unemployment, a dozen wars going, gas at $5-8/gal, the DOW at 3000, etc, then I would feel differently ( whew, I think we avoided that, at this point, by NOT electing McCain or that pain in the rear, Palin )
skylarportland 2 years ago
Yeah drilling for oil in our OWN country would have drove oil prices thru the roof.....NOT! dumbass.
cobraman96 2 years ago
Who said anything about that we should drill for oil in our OWN country, much less need to drill for more oil at all?!?? Talk about being a dumbass!
and dumbass, explain to me that why was it when Bush stole the office, gas prices went above, for the first time in US history, above $2/gal, then above $3/gal, then above $4/gal, and some places reached over $5/gal?!?? what, because we never needed oil before 2001?
What a moron!
portlanddem 2 years ago
Here we go w/the conspirecy nuttjob shit.Bush stole the election, blew up the towers and drown all the brown peopel in new orleans..is that about right you liberal retard?
cobraman96 2 years ago
Here we go w/ assuming shit. If Gore had a brother who was the governor of a state he won by a close margin, you rethug pieces of shit would be saying the same thing, don't try to tell me different! NO, I NEVER said Bush blew up the towers or drowned the "brown" people as you put it.
Well, all these assumptions you make, you know what happens when you ASSume something, you make an ass out of yourself, but you retard rethug pieces of shit keep going--you're burying yourselves even further!!
portlanddem 2 years ago
Set them numbers real high, huh?a dozen wars? get real. Now 15% unemployment,,,YES WE CAN! 5 TO 8 dollars a gallon gas...YES WE CAN! All his programs are gonna do just that.mark my words!btw we know liberals dont like to fight so the war thing is an easy one for him.
cobraman96 2 years ago
Seriously--you can't be 45 y/o or whatever it is your profile suggests. You sound like a 12 y/o!!
BTW, no the nations unemployment is 10.2%--a FAR cry from 15%--but nice try there. Why don't you tell your rethugs at the banks to release their $ they got so our employers can hire these people, instead of hoarding on it like they're all doing?!? Why didn't you say anything about the DOW raising over 4k since 1-20? Just proves, it isn't all Obamas fault for jobs, TELL THE BANKS!!!
portlanddem 2 years ago
I suspect that many people these days aren't saying that "this can't affect me, why should I care". Now, those that are still employed are worried about their futures as well. This event is and will affect all of us.
SkedBoard 3 years ago
Frankly, I think that we are WAY beyond a recession; I suspect that many people are feeling that is a DEPRESSION! We have definitely cut back on many, many things.
SkedBoard 3 years ago
So here it is seven months later and nobama has 9.8% unemployment...now go ahead and blame it all on bush and those crazy republicans...lmao
cobraman96 2 years ago
No, I blame Bush for among other things, the outsourcing of jobs overseas that he started just after 2001.
Remember, trying to get these jobs back is going to take years ( if we even get them back ), & the banks not giving credit to businesses is REALLY affecting the economy as they can not hire new employees. This is the fault of the banks--not a president. You notice though since Obama took office, the DOW has risen over 4000 pts!! but unemployment climbs? it isn't the president at fault
skylarportland 2 years ago
ok,Now its 10.2% lunatic fringe...Still love your little hussein obama? lol

You're right about one thing--the rethug party committee of hypocritical Greats themselves sound like an auction too, and those are just a few that come to mind!
portlanddem 2 years ago
BTW, I got an email notification about your comment you left on my page, and I am leaving it up on there for 2 reasons:
1. to show what a moron you actually are, and 2. because I believe in FREE SPEECH unlike you rethug pieces of shit who want to silence everyone and hence, you don't allow comments to your profile!

I think you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned the real changes in everyone's state of mind and the reign of panic - there is potential for true danger there. I am struggling financially but very positive. My personnal opinion is whilst we learn to live with few pennies we do have we also learn that those extra pennies did not bring the happiness that we share just by being with and doing the 'free' things we love to do. I will not accept the negativity because only good can come from this.
Good to see your posting again.

Fringe111 3 years ago
Glad your back, Joy! Financial crisis? OUCH! We have also cut back on the 'tiny indulgences'. We can see the ripple effect and realize 'everyone' is vulnerable! Yes, friends with 'pension plans' have been told it is bankrupt! OUCH! And, I can't deny, I do feel as if the 'urgent, quick fix' was contrived and insane, and since 'insanity' rules, no sane person can predict how to protect what they have left!
SO! Yes, I'm looking forward to your trips down memory lane! A 'free' distraction! Thanks!

Fringe111 3 years ago
Good to see you on my screen again, Joy. And yes, more Theater videos!!! As for the economy, it hasn't affected me directly yet, but I am avoiding unnecessary purchases in anticipation of some ripple effect. Someone close to be has lost a job in the last week due to the slow down. I never talk much about work (it is company policy - and mine- to keep one's personal activities separate from work), but let's just say we are operating with an awareness of what is going on.
FantasticBabblings 3 years ago
Hi Phil, I'm so happy you saw this. Not one video so far has talked about what's happening to us so I thought I would. I'm back and besides Paul Newman, I'm going to talk about the night The Rocky Horror Show opened on broadway. That story is wild
Fringe111 3 years ago
well its about time you come back young lady =P Missed ya. Looking forward to your stories again. As far as your question, how has the market effected my life. All i can say is i haven't seen a major difference. Each month, living on disability is extremely hard to make ends meet. And having to rely on a credit card to get food on the table is only prolonging the inevitable. I just hope we can pull out and change before that limit is maxed out.

if everyone boycotted fast food restaurants, the economy could collapse...we need consumer spending to be up. WHY? b/c those spenders make money for my company that pays me and then I SPEND at company C & D and those employees there get paid b/c I spend my money there and then the C & D company employees spend their money xyz... and so folks- if you quit spending money--- whole industries could collapse. IN ORDER for the ECONOMY to survive CONSUMER SPENDING must increase!
Rosetteismyname 3 years ago
It's true that we should start spending again. But so many of us just don't have any money to spend on anything right now except for the essentials. That's how bad it is
Fringe111 3 years ago
This may take a couple comments:
In 2001, when GW Bush stated "Spend Money" That in no way meant go in to debt!!!!!
He meant go out and do what you do, ok, argue that point, Im sure many will!
NO ONE took a loan that they did not have a right or a responsibility to read, and if they signed that loan and are surprised it ballooned in 5 years....shame on them!!!
It is not the tax payers responsibility to pay for inept, or STUPID buyers.
On that note, it is not......
Lewismadmax 3 years ago
...The taxpayers responsibility to pay to mismanaged lenders.
I say..let the bodies hit the floor, we will clean the mess up when it matters...once you hit bottom, the only way to go is up.
Dont lend to those that cant pay back!
Dont take loans you cant pay back...READ YOUR LOAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lewismadmax 3 years ago
Of course they should have read their loan. But you know as well as I that most of them were just happy to hear that a bank would give them a loan. Soften your heart there kiddo
Fringe111 3 years ago
seriously simple and true.
if i want to throw away money i'll give it to my DIL and she will spend it on meth. of course she'll deny she's using, and promise to pay me back, but after 10 years of the same actions, somehow i just don't believe her.
same thing as the bailout, exactly.
iMBBonlyone 3 years ago
I get that. Just a suggestion. Stop enabaling her. You're more important right now
Fringe111 3 years ago
i don't, haven't in years. considering that my 73 yr old mom is now raising the great-grandchild, and we had to spend and sell everything we had to pay lawyers because DHS, CPS, welfare nor the police did not do their job to protect the child and took her from me and sent her to an abusive home when we have dozens of family members who were more than willing, including myself, to take the precious baby, i'd say we're beyond that.
except the child, she will be messed up forever in some ways.

It's nice to see your optimism, especially about your daughter getting a great deal on their new home. I myself am still quite cautious about ever having a mortgage and/or car payment right now because I feel that the worst (unthinkable)is yet to come.
june201955 3 years ago
I agree with that. I also think the worst is yet to come. My daughter bought their house just 2 months before this crash. Had it been two months later she wouldn't have been able to do that. But my other daughter has lost her job and I'm worried. She can't seem to find another one. Thanks my friend for sharing this.
Fringe111 3 years ago
I don't know what your daughters work capability is, but tell her to try applying with auction companies. I work for one, and we are busy as bees....
Also another thought.... If governments around the World are bailing out their banking industries to keep the credit markets/economies going, then what's going to happen when these(& our)government(s) become tapped out. It's going to be World Bank/IMF to the rescue. They will take over everyones debt, and that includes car, home, school, etc. loans.
june201955 3 years ago
Auction companies? I swear I've never heard of them. I'll look into it and tell her. She's in the dental field which is the most horrible field to be in when it comes to benefits. They don't give health insurance and pay low. But she has her degree but the Dr.s are not hiring now. I'll tell her about this
Can you give me more info about the auction field?
Hugs and thanks
Fringe111 3 years ago

Be smart...

I nominate you for........something!

Plutonwolf 3 years ago

Well that would make it all go away if our stores weren't closing down now as it is in our community. I think it's gone beyond fixing

One of the problems with where you're starting point is: you said you've been watching a lot of TV lately.
Chrisnoscrub047 3 years ago
i was thinking that too. matter of fact I said it to the screen as I was watching her vid.

TheNewArmy 3 years ago
Thanks for commenting. It's true what you're saying. The imports are sub quality and because of deregulation people are getting sick. Lead in toys plus all the other crap is a by product of what's happened here

Methadone4Life 3 years ago

My heart goes out to everyone that is suffering from the losses due to this fragile economy and fear on wall street.
I lost a job of 12 years, was under threat of foreclosure, but worked it out - painfully - many sleepless nights.
With all of this uncertainty & fear, any thoughts regarding a campaign to insight fear & hatred on top of what all Americans already fear?
I am very disturbed by the direction one campaign has chosen to take when I would normally roll my eyes as nonsense - thoughts?

Good seeing you on camera!
That's terrible what happened to your friends.
Good question.
Very concerned.
Welcome back!

Glad to hear about the return of the "Broadway Series".
And about the other ? I think we're all effected by the money situation, but because of the taboo associated with money, it's hard to talk about it.

Hey Joy it's so good 2 see you make a new video!! The thing that sucks 4 me is that the price of Coal and Nat Gas is going down I think you know thats how I make my money so whats good 4 most people is not good 4 me...
Peace...

I hear that. It's bad on both ends. You can't sell and people are not buying. This is affecting everyone.
Thanks for watching. I always respect your opinions

Hope you will do more;)
ps Can't wait to hear about Paul

Hey you're not being a smart ass at all. I think we are all embarrased to tell our stories. That's why I did this video. Most of us are hurting big time and we should let everyone know about it. You do everything right and boom this happens. I'm so glad you stuck with me during the time I was gone.
You'll be seeing more vids from me from now on

I'm with you about Obama.
Hugs my friend

Good to see you too. I'm finding that food has risen to rediculous prices. Milk has risen to 4 to 6 dollars a gallon depending on which brand you buy. I have two friends who've lost jobs and can't find new ones. We are ok for now since ny husband is a teacher but I'm really scared.

Marvelous is a good word in light of how I'm feeling these days. Thanks my friend. We are ok so far but like you I have know idea about my 401k. My other daughter though is really struggling. I'm worried about her.
