Also, she recorded 58 unreleased songs for One In A Million alone, so why have they been unreleased for the most part all these years? Also, why not an album that remixes Aaliyah's songs that had Static Major demos with the demos and call it something like 'The Static Edits'. Who's with me???

I believe that Aaliyah was more lucky than talented. She just happened to be at the right place at the right time. When she met Missy and Timberland. I like Aaliyah but she's no real singer. She's actually mediocre, you know, she'll pass.

I believe that Aaliyah was more lucky than talented. She just happened to be at the right place at the right time. When she met Missy and Timberland. I like Aaliyah but she's no real singer. She's actually mediocre, you know, she'll pass.

I said she was a mediocre singer, there's a difference. I have a background in music. What about you? I play keyboards very well, what about you? I know an A Flat from a B Flat, what about you? I know when someone is singining off-key, what about you? I still stick by what I said. She was OK but she was not a strong vocalist.

@gfine2000 you claim to have all this knowledge in music, we're suppose to take your word for it? But then again she's famous & you're not. Your going to judge her singing abilities off of a club song were the beat is more important than the vocals? Listen to at your best/ other slow songs she sang. And her version of ava maria at 14 years old. She sing for the president clinton, was one of the youngest performers at the oscars, but thats not a strong vocalist- just luck. Yeah right?

Mediocre? I can't get over that. She displayed more talent( not luck) than most people have under the age of 17 than others can mustard in their entire life. If she was so mediocre why did she have 2 platinum albums and get into Detroit best performance arts high school at while 15.

Personally, you're taking this much too seriously. With all due respect, when Aaliyah was alive she didn't know you from a dead fly so why are you going out on a limb for her? You couldn't do anything for her but buy her music! Oh, I never claimed to be a producer but she had great producers that's what helped her succeed not just singing.

@gfine2000 First of all as a fan, i can go out on a limb for whoever i want. you can make as many assumptions you want but you don't know her either u wasn't with her when she was building her career, so who are you to go out on a limb and talk about how much talent someone has or doesn't have. As a person that supported her career & legacy i'm going to take up for her. And she did have great producers but so do a lot of other musicians, so what does that have to do with anything.

And aaliyah was one of the artist that acknowledge her fans appreciation. I don't care if she didn't know me from a dead fly on the wall, aaliyah has encouraged me in more ways than one. She don't have to know who i was but i know who she was-Amazing- what she did in her short life is amazing. it encourages me to learn & do more.

Another mediocre singer whose making a fortune and is on top today. Britney Spears, need I say more? It's not your talent these days, it's how much money is behind you. There are people in the recording industry called "Idol Makers" that can take a bum off the street and turn them into an overnight sensation! Believe me!

Aaliyah brought individuality and a unique style that nobody else can duplicate. Her music was so forward, and before its time.
