i have alot, i actually dont know right now because i moved and things have been stressful so my camera work is very very limited until we settle in. ill let ya know tho.
simple camera trick. focus towards an object in the distance. make sure its within your depth of field on your camera. press record and pull back the focus until the second object is sharp and crisp(in focus) and there you go.
spadastunter: Theres no HD4, thers only GZ-HD3, 5,6 and 7, and the GZ-HD6 has the best quality so far, as it is the newest, records in full 1920x1080, and handles low light better then both the GZ-HD3 and GZ-HD7.
gta363: No, GZ-HD3 records in HDV (1440x1080i)
and streches it into 1920x1080, ive got one and the image quality looks like poop compaired to other HD camcorders
The GZ HD3 record in SP and XP. This moron doesn't know what he is talking about. As far as I've seen the HD3 and 7 are the same. The HD7 has a view finder, only difference.
Yes, with the the exception of the viewfinder. HD7 has it, HD3 doesn't. The viewfinder is useless anyways and the HD3 actually saves more battery than the HD7 because the viewfinder isn't always running.
I have the GZ-HD3, and my friend has the GZ-HD7, they took exacually the same on the tv,because tv screens have larger pixals, but once you put it on the computer, the GZ-HD3's image as horrid lines around everything, GAH
I dont know if something is wrong with my camera, or if its ment too look like that.
I don't know man. I haven't checked to see if there is a factory default setting on it yet, but if there is try it. I haven't thrown any film on my PC yet because I'm in the middle of moving but what editing software are you using?
Im about to buy this camcorder model i have it on layby.. the quickest and easiest way for adding full hd filming onto a blank dvd is first you need JVC CU-VD40 which is called share station dvd burner. then you need a blank dvd that carries DL and not normal blank disc. from there u are directly adding full HD filming directly to the blank dvd. rather then going so much complication with software on pc and so on... trouble free and faster too with the JVC burner thing. Ill be getting it soon.
the longer the video the more quality is goin to get distorted. its hard to explain with type but sumtime this week ill make a vid on converting files with the gz7.
That is not true. The quality should be consistent through out. I have am hour clip video recorded and have it all on Full HD in N2t format for Bluray playback. no problems whatsoever.
You can view and ask current Vimeo HD7 users about this. You can also view the files in Full HD if your computer can hold the feed with a good graphics card. Look for JVC High Definition channel when you're in Vimeo[dot]com
wut i mean is....the longer the vid the more the memory the more the memory the more you have to size it down. the more you size down the less quality. unless you got really fast internet
Internet speed upload or download has nothing to do with the quality you post with or view with. You should not have to size it down. If you've compressed it correctly to suggested preset for web viewing Highest quality on youtube is 480x360 at 960kbps. Compare this to Vimeo's 1280x720 in progressive mode at real HD.
MOOSEJVC: hes not all correct. the higher quality upload to youtube u do. the better the video will be. change your account to director,a dn you will suprised how much more u can uploaded in terms of the video size. eg 150mb
How do you do this on the camera? Or do I have to buy a lens?
KillerPebbles 1 year ago
@KillerPebbles there is a focus ring on the hd7. simple as twisting your wrist to focus on an object in field of view
MOOSEJVC 1 year ago
@MOOSEJVC Oh, my bad. I didn't check the model name with mine. I have a different one.

Have you messed around with many of the manual settings? White balance exposure etc. What settings are you seeing the best results with?

Hey I have the gz hd3. PRETTY much the same. and I dont THINK my videos are too bad quality so heres wat i do:
Download mpeg_streamclip version 1.81
Download quicktime alternative.
Use the software and convert it to wmv. Works like a charm.
yankee178 3 years ago
that seems alot easier. my files go on my computer from my cam in .tod and it takes for ever to convert
