I never think about it as a pattern...I just strum a rhythm that I think represents the song...so I couldn't tell you a ..well you know up down down up whatever thing...ha in fact whenever I try I find it burns too many useful braincells...:) I would recommend tapping along with the song to get the beat of it and then picking the guitar up...mute the strings with your hand and strum the same beat you tapped out...:) @cowgrl142
