  • Where's the "vs." information?

  • This video doesn't really say anything....

  • I'm happy with my 2010 650, at 125 mph three acceleration slows and you need a long long straight to get faster

  • i know my 08 ninja 650 can do 150..

  • whats the 1/4 mile times? i like the kawi!! i might buy 1 because insurance is cheap and they are nice looking! did he say they 150mph?

  • @kyjelly5524

None of the bikes in this test will do 150mph anywhere but down a steep incline with a strong tailwind. I assume that his comment with purely about the utility of having weather protection from fairing using that speed as a hypothetical. I'll also add that these bikes are not about speed or 1/4 mile times. They are tuned to have power for street use with power coming on in a manageable and practical manner. Most will still be faster than the majority of cars on the road, however.

  • @opmike343 owned a 650r good bike, but a shocking fairing buzz on th 06 model, great round town, crap out of town due to ducking all time to escape wind, good beginners bike, ride zx6r now far better big step up,whole better ball game.you will never do 150 on a 650r,more like 125

  • great real world / do-it-all / jack of all trades bikes for those who want to tour, play with the twisties and commute with comfort... cheap and more than enough for the roads. i really like mine.

  • Considering the fact that most of the supersport riders I see have never been on a track day and are nowhere near capable of riding their bikes at the limit, they should've bought one of these.

Fact: you don't need and can't use the full potential of a supersport like a R6 or CBR600RR if you haven't spent hundreds of hours on the track. A professional racing rider would dust most if not all of the supersport riders you see on the street on one of the bikes in this video.

  • @jklsd

You can't use the full potential of MOST motorcycle on anywhere but a track. However, I do agree that buying a super sport for 100% street riding is overkill. That's not to say I'm opposed to it, I like most bikes, but buyers should ensure that they are keeping this in perspective when they buy them, and perhaps looks are more comfortable options. They may find that they like something more upright with more streetable power, and they may actually ride the thing regularly.

  • These are cool bikes. I want them all.

  • I love my 650R. Perfect first bike.

  • Thanks for the comparison and summaries ...

  • These are all "f" bikes, all come from naked models that have added a fairing.

These are considered sport-turism bikes, perfect for traveling.

  • In case there are viewers who are still not looking at video descriptions before commenting or rating... the link to the full written compare/review is there in the description.

  • What about the 2009 SV650SF? Best 650 out there imo and the most fun!

  • I've owned a 2008 gsx 650f and also own a 2009 fz6r. I know for a fact the fz6r is a bad mother if you ride it right. As far as top end fz6r. On the other hand the gsx650f is better for reaction time and throttle disbursement and has lots of torque. The mother will will on demand if you throttle it right even in 3rd and 4th gear. Trust me I've owned both and currently have a 09 fz6r and 2006 BMW k1200s the baddest bitch alive. Will fuck a busa up from start to finish but trust me the fz6r will

  • Where is the review?

  • LMAO! Guy drags some parts @2:49 and starts to stand up mid-corner. Think it spooks him.

  • ninja (nuf said)

  • f*cken

  • does the Fz6r have enough power? would it be better to get the new ninja 1000? i am looking for a good amount of torque?

  • @lawdog2111 I would say the 650r is torquier in lower RPMs, but the top end is better on the FZ6R. The Ninja 1000 is awesome, but Insurance companies in the US class it as a Hypersport, same as a ZX-10r. So get your pocket book ready. Insurance payments were gonna be almost as much as the bike payment for me, and I'm over 30 with a clean record.

  • that yamaha scratches the foot pages at 2:48

  • @Gravexero in the written review they pointed out that the yamaha has very low pegs and the writer scraped them damn near off in no time.

  • pick up my FZ6R in a few weeks

  • because harleys are for fags

  • Again all the hate between different bikes riders...Why not just enjoy what we ride and respect the other riders? I wave even to scooter riders, why not. I have 09 Ninja 650r, love it and wouldn't trade for supersport bike. It's cheap, comfortable, gets 50mi/g and cheap insurance. If not on a track, I'll ride with ANY bike, no matter size of engine. Think guys with liter's bikes just have some complexes, most of them have NEVER seen track anyway..But I don't bitch about them, neither disrespect

  • @1967vsi

I wave back from my Yamaha Vino 125 :)

  • @1967vsi Its not like that in the real world, a 150cc scooter/motorcycle gets the same biker wave as a streched fat tire busa/R1

  • Check out my Kawasaki Ninja 650R vids giving it full power :D

  • COMET 650 GTR.......

  • in france the 650r called er-6f, and it's very apreciated!!

  • @mattstar2192 in France 600's are for the women.

  • Tell us something we dont know!

I came here looking to see the pros/cons of each bike and which of these 3 is better or worse

  • I have an 07 Ninja 650r. Great bike. good for beginners or those looking for some good power and speed but not interested in shelling out the extra cash. Its a smooth ride, very comfortable in the turn or on the long trips. Please don't let people saying its not a sports bike deter you from buying one. Unless you go to the track or are a pro on the mountain twisties there's no reason to skip on this bike other than personal preference. The number one thing is be safe and have fun.

  • those are NOT sportsbikes!!!

  • @skslayer What are they then? These are sport bikes. Just not supersport bikes.

  • @tobearockstar0706 They tend to be called roadsters around here?

  • That huge can on the GSX650F looks, so old fashioned now..

  • Ya not the best review ever. I will say one thing. the gsx i have owned and they are great. I have heard amazing with a few unrestricting mods I.E. Powercommander and XTRE. but somehow i'd say if you like power and speed look into the Gsx 1250 FA i have heard its only about 30 pounds more. That is if your not into racing if thats the case your in the wrong area and dont waste your time.

  • I'd like the same video with subtitles!

  • The article contains more information, and is actually the VS. part. Would have been nice to see the video comparison.

  • I own a 09 ninja 650r. These bikes are perfect first bikes. They are fast enough to have fun with but the power delivery is smooth so when you make those early learning mistakes you don't end up on your ass. Sure the supersports are faster, cooler, ect. But there is nothing cool about totalling your first bike and your only body because your ego couldn't handle anything less than the cliche gxr-750 for the first bike.

  • @1337Brite i agree 100%. i moved up from a 500 to the '09 ninja 650r. very comfortable, good fuel economy, great handling, and it held its own just fine with any other bike on the streets. i have ridden my friend's suzuki jxr600, a good quality supersport, and the only difference i could find was i sat more comfortably on my ninja. hopefully soon i will be moving up to the ninja 1000. same ergonomics, just a little more sauce. all of these bikes are great though.

  • @1337Brite So true my friend. I own an 06, got it hardly broken in start of the 07 riding season and been riding for four years on it, I still love it. I'm wanting a bigger bike now, but it has been very good to me. I always loved flying by guys on track days in their 600's and 750's, even on the straights because I just carried so much more speed through the corners than them. The guys on the 1000's basically stood still they were so scared of their bikes... Kudos to you!

  • no clip on's!!!!

  • i'm riding 650R which call er6f here in south east asia. pretty easy handling and stable but the engine sound bit rough. Since the bike was assemble in Thailand so the price here also very reasonable than gsx 650f and fz6r...

  • Comment removed

  • sports bikes? hardly, more like under-powered half-arsed tourers... get a GSX-r and have loads more fun

  • @ndnoakes1234

They're made for two totally different things

  • @Trashjack101 true - im not saying that you should buy one for a different reason, but they can't be called sportsbikes as theyre simply not its more a beginners middleweight...

  • im getting a 2011 ninja 650r

  • 1. FZ6-R

    2. Ninja 650R

    3. p.o.s.

  • Review Summary: These are pretty much the same as the old models, bikes you can use for school, blah blah blah, wow not a single specific detail about either bike. How do these magazine survive with such shitty reviews, seriously. Why don't you tell me more about how these bikes have fairings, I might really learn something I'm already seeing with my eyes. This guy even stumbled on the world :CYLINDER: as if hes just learned the word & i wont be surprised if he did either

  • @Bulgdoom How do these "magazines"

You do realize this was a 3 min video correct? If you'd actually read the review, you know, the written one, then you'd know they go into much more specific detail.

  • This was supposed to be X vs. Y but all he talks about is how much they are alike. Stupid review.

  • Actually Kawasaki should have brought the ZXR 400 to America as a detuned (for more mid-range torque like the Yamaha) version and it would have been a good comparison. The ZXR 400 is a 398cc inline 4 cylinder yes 4 cylinder 65 HP at 13000 rpm around 35 ft lbs. torque. Just look it up on YouTube. Hopefully the engineers at Kawaski will read this...lol!

    Gil

  • I think he was trying to say these are entry level bikes, the Yamaha and Kawi are starter bikes while the Suzuki is border line as far as being in the same class but really not meant for beginners because of the power and the weight.

    Gil

  • Dumb video. You just wasted our time doing nothing but explaining what mid-range sport bikes are for. As if most ppl who would click on this video didn't know??

  • Would the ninja 650r be very good for someone 6'4''?

  • actually are either the ninja 650r or fz6r good for someone 6'4''? and which would be better for passengers?

  • @ek467382007 No. If your over 6", you'll find the fairing small. Go with the fz6r. It is the perfect bike. That's what I plan on doing. The fz6r has a big fairing and looks just as good if not, better. I'm 6" and the fairing would be a bit small for me.

  • biglandfarm is right.... shit review. Save your time people.

  • Well Kawi killed the Ninja 500 so I guess it's just the 250 or the 650 now...

  • @Whitehorze The 400r is coming out for 2011 too. I just think a 7500 msrp for it is a lot.

  • @Lamaj96 Depends on the performance. If it has an Aluminium frame and 17" wheels it might be worth it. but for a 400cc to be worth $8,000 it'd better be A) faster than the 500 and B) cheaper to ride than the 500.

    Time will tell...

  • the rider on the 650 looks like a plastic figure.. that sitting position makes the bike just ugly

  • I thought that was going to be a review? I guess I missed the review part! Total pointless shit!!!

  • Did that FZ6R scrape at 2:45??

  • I could have told you all of that with out even riding them.. Thanks..

  • Just wish they would make it to where you could "undetune" they to their SS counterparts power. Because an fz6r would be mine

  • I beg to differ. They are NOT sports bikes, but STREET BIKES; the handle bars are for an upright position, not racing style! Suzuki/ Yamaha sports bikes have an R in the names, e.g. R6; GSXR 600.

  • @cynic150 Dude the yamaha has an R. lol

in the name its fz6"R" yeah right there at the end.

  • @hellicks The GSX650f is the best bike out of all these Super sport touring bikes, I have a Hayabusa right now and just recently got the GSX650f and i'll tell you this... you put and power commander, healtech x-tre and an auto-tuning device with a nice slip on exhaust and you got yourself a bad ass ride!!! I tried the Ninja650r "felt cheap" and FZ6r "not a big fan of yamaha" and Suzuki did an outstanding job on the GSX650 especially for the price.

  • @mikeswitzer12

Beg to differ. I've owned 750cc multis and 250cc thumpers and a bunch inbetween, and ridden all kinds of big guns. I sold Suzukis and bought the Kawi, in the city it's hard to beat, and punchy enough on the highway too. In second choice would be the FZ6 that they are discontinuing, the FZ6R is just butt-ugly :(

  • The GSX F series have NEVER been SPORTbikes... the Sport series from Suzuki are the GSX R series. But you wouldn't know that, would you.

  • @hellicks

Well......GS in Suzuki-speak stands for Gran Sport. And GSX stands for Gran Sport eXperimental. GSX-R is for Gran Sport eXperimental Racing. So......

GSX-F is a Suzuki 'sportbike' - while GSX-R is a racing sportbike. But I guess you wouldn't know that would you?

  • @fastfil Although I do appreciate fine irony and I praise your excellent knowledge of Suzuki's range denominations, I do wish to maintain my opinion, as a rider who has ridden pretty much everything in terms of japanese sport-touring and supersport bikes, that the GSXF series is rather a wooden log than a sportbike. Poor throttle response, poor handling, massive weight (all these in terms of a sport-bike). GSXR series=different story. Ride safe and have fun!

  • still waiting for one of the companies to pay you, so you can declare a winner? lol..

  • ninja 650?????

  • all within 10 horsepower of each other. So how much hp is that, then?

  • @haygoodb Kawasaki has 72, Suzuki 86, and Yamaha 78.

  • wtf i didnt realise this video was going to be - standard motorcycles explained for dummies

  • Yamaha is for the win in this "comparo"

  • Ninja 650?? thats a ER6F !!! The ER6F is Two cilinders VS 2 Four Cilinders

  • @zeth609 Kawasaki USA calls it the "Ninja 650R"

  • @zeth609 the ER6F doesnt does not have a wind screen or ferrings. but it is pretty much the same as the 650r.

  • @zeth609 to correct myself before the hate mail comes, I thought you typed ER6N, oops

  • @zeth609 650R and ER6F are the same bike. just a different name in the US.

  • @zeth609 its also sold as the ninja 650r and ninja 650rl in australia the model code is er6f but sold as ninjas only tha naked is sond as a er6n and a er6nl

  • @zeth609 same price range. same power.

  • @zeth609 so? its a fair match up, it produces the most low end torque and yes it is a ninja 650r, thats what its called here in north america

  • @zeth609 in north america it is for sure called ninja 650... dif names in dif markets...

  • @zeth609 In the US it is called the Ninja 650r everywhere else it is a er6f.

  • Says VS but I didn't see any comparison. I own an 09 FZ6R and love it......

  • @JayzBeerz Agreed, it's worthless as a review.

  • @JayzBeerz i wasnt a fan of it when i sat on it.. the tank just seemed MASSIVE. and im 6"3 and 240

  • @jeepnix1 yeah I agree the tank is huge but i feel comfortable on it. I'm a noob and love the power. Above 7000 RPM the FZ6R becomes a beast. I'm 6 feet and 240 pounds and I can get it to 130 MPH.

  • @JayzBeerz i sat on one and thought it felt a bit bit and bulky. especially the gas tank. and im 6"3 and 230lbs..more of a sport tourer

  • i didnt see much comparison either.

  • @JayzBeerz Hows it on MPG / Or how many MP- tank ? Under normal riding. Or just best & worst. Thank's,yl

  • @ylism I ride normally and get around 220 miles per tank full. if i ran it to empty i could get maybe 230 miles out of it.

  • @JayzBeerz That's not bad at all. Around 48 mpg give or take. They say they will get around 43 mpg, So your doing even better. Makes the choice a bit easier to make. I am looking to get one of the bikes listed in this video. Or one of there variation's. Like the FZR6 it has a good seat height, and feels good to boot. Just haven't been able to ride one yet. My EN500 is a nice cruiser but I want more of a sport standard like these.Thank's for the info, yl

  • not a very good review at all. Why keep comparing super sports with these bikes as opposed to a bit more to each other like the title suggests? Most people looking at these bikes already know they are different than super sports imo

  • Comment removed

  • So which bike us the winner?

Any meaningful comparisons of how they ride?

    Personalities of each?

  • pretty shitty review.

  • @biglandfarm Read the article that they were so kind to put up for people like you.

  • @biglandfarm the written review covers the three very well, this is more of a teaser to make one want to read the review.
