@roadcree: It takes a real dumbass to start a debate to someone on YouTube without clicking the "reply" button you thick idiot. Rondinelli was fine with BOC but unfortunately tarnished that reputation with Quiet Riot. Martin sounds dreadful here, and unlike Dio (who I also admittedly don't like), it's not as if he's even established through the rest of his work, and as for Nichols and Murray I speak for alot of people when I say "Who the fuck are they?"
If anyone started a debate, it was me, two years earlier. But apparently it takes a real dumbass to start a debate to someone on YouTube when another user said the exact same thing two years earlier in a DIRECT REPLY to you, you thick idiot. If you hate this so much, why the fuck are you here anyway? And why do you keep coming back??
And don't speak for everyone regarding Neil Murray, or anything for that matter.
@blacksabfan: Actually, seeing as how the person used, verbatim, the same words I did they're clearly responding to me, yet were too thick to hit the Reply button so I'd actually see it. And why am I here? To hear Black Sabbath, not Iommi with a guy who sounds like he'd get kicked out of a town fair BS cover band.
I also said I spoke for alot of people, not everyone you illiterate tool, and the fact that you blocked someone after your stunning reply shows even you know how weak it is.
Well, obviously you're fucking stupid, because you were here 2 years ago, said it was a "cover band" back then, and you're here again now expecting something different. Well, guess what dipshit? It's still the same "cover band" performing "Changes".
The definition of insanity according to Einstein: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
Sort of sums up your time here...
And you still missed the boat on the whole "logic" thing.
Ozzy and Black Sabbath rule. Who the hell is that guy on the far right. If you like video games check out my channel. All spammer or hater comments will be ignored.
The original is epic, but this version with Tony is touching. Martin puts a lot of effort and emotion into it. This song marks the end of the brilliant Tony Martin-era of Black Sabbath. If you want to listen to a bad version, then stay away from this, and listen to the rerecorded version, with a Parkinson-sick Ozzy staggering through it with his daughter.
THIS is an amazing song I have a 30 yr cassette of this song and also MOODY BLUES nights in white satin I used to listen to it every night when I went to bed.Iam now going to have a digital copy of the same :) awesome awesome:) Will let you know what other goodies are in it OH! The long and winding road is also one of the numbers and so is THE HOUSE of the rising sun ANIMALS!!!!!
@rockaires ya gotta love his dedication to the project that is Black sabbath, man i bet that dude was on the edge of just chucking it in many a times...thank god he didnt huh? \m/
Not sure what ya meant by it starts hissing toward the end. i dind;t hear any real difference in quality form beginning to end. Sounded pretty good for an audience recording.
No it's not....Tony wrote the music, Geezer wrote the lyrics...Ozzy only sang it, that hardly makes it his song. Bill and Ozzy is credited on it, but they didn't write any of it. Back in those days, the band credited everyone, but both Geezer and Tony has stated that they wrote it, not Bill and Ozzy. Nice of Ozzy to do a crappy cover version of it on his 'Under Cover' album with that ugly daughter of his though. I've lost all respect for Ozzy and Sharon after they sued Tony recently.
I hope you're not talking about this song, Changes, from the best Black Sabbath album ever: Vol. 4, 1972. If that's the case it would pretty muck make you the biggest fool on Youtube, dude.
Tony Martin was 14 years old when Ozzy, Iommi, Butler and Ward wrote this masterpiece...
Tony played piano on the track, and while Ozzy came up with the vocal melody, he, again, didn't write any lyrics to it. That, again, was Geezer Butler. Bill Ward didn't do anything on the track. And you know how I know, because I just read it on page 73-74 in Martin Popoff's "Doom Let Loose". Taken right from the musicians themselves. That should pretty much end this debate.
Thanks ! I met him briefly at the monsters of rock show at Donnington park 1987. Iron Maidon was headlining , I think at that time Neil would have been left whitesnake ,and joining with Vow wow . Anyway thanks -he douse look young in this picture.
I don't think it is I who comes across as a big idiot. If you bothered to read 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath - The Battle For Black Sabbath', it will proove you wrong. Extensive interviews with Tony Martin, Geoff Nicholls, Cozy Powell, Dio, Hughes, Gillan, Gillen etc etc. everything you need to know about Ozzy as well. I'm not talking about Tony Martin, but Iommi... ;)
@bufc1992 Stop giving Ozzy credit for something he never wrote himself. Ozzy has written VERY little in Sabbath actually. Iommi and Butler was always the music creater and lyricist in the band. He and Ward is credited on most songs, but Ozzy and Ward didn't write any of it, it was a band/friend thing. This comes from Geezer and Iommi themselfs. Look at Ozzy solo, who has written the majority of his hits? Bob Daisley, who Ozzy and Sharon backstabbed and left to rot without any credit.
You might be able to make that argument with Tony Martin, but Bobby Rondinelli and Neil Murray are hardly chumps. Anyone that knows anything about rock music knows that.
I agree with blacksabfan. It may not be a "classic Sabbath" line up but Bobby Rondinelli and Neil Murray are veterans from the likes of Whitesnake, Rainbow etc. I'm not sure where Tony Martin arose from, but he's clearly talented.
@PooPoo2U Tony Martin honored the Sabbath name and gave his best with love and passion. If you can't appreciate that then please keep your comments to yourself.
@overmatik: Normally I'm quite lenient on the subject of bands keeping a name without crucial members, AND considering this was one of Ozzy's better vocal ranges I won't even trash him for that here.
Well, you could of saved time by reading the description. Don't watch a 5 min video and then bitch about how it's a waste of time if you're not going to read the description first. Obviously you're too much of a lazy dimwit though to not watch something that you already know you won't like.
Pretty decent Matins performance. I myself am a huge Martin fan, but I've seen him perform twice with Sabbath and both it wasn't that great (also the Forbidden tour).
