i am taking college algebra. and looking at the catalog. Linear algebra is even more advanced than calculus. omg. this looks impossibly hard. But why is it called algebra.

It's not the same thing. That matrix multiplication is not commutative. Put it on paper. You'll see the difference. huangdiwaijing is right. It should have been u(100) = SΛ100c
