I like how the one young lady tried to comfort the little kids. I noticed some people said they should have turned the keys off or called 911. I think the kids did about as well as they could. The driver may have tried to prevent them from turning off the keys and cause an accident during the struggle. I hope the driver is no longer driving.
every bus passenger in my state is required to participate in 2 (!) separate evacuation drills.
IF the driver was drunk, they should have stayed in their seat while 1 who knew how to disable the bus stopped and secured it, then evacuated through the primary exit (front door) only if it was too dangerous to remain on the bus.
your kids need to know these steps!
every professional bus driver should be teaching these skills; all the kids who ride my bus do.
