  • Beautiful...The most beautiful performance of this song that you ever heard♥ I love this woman is stunning♥

  • In my book .. .she is just the best ! She really could do it all. I don't think there has ever been a better ballad singer. Thank you for posting. I never tire of listening to Doris.

Thanks pattie for sending my way !

  • Wow, what a lovely voice, Doris day. I'm floating on life!

  • whoever doesn't like this must be a democrat

  • Perfection... and beyond!

  • wow - wow - her sweetness and sensuality floats right up to the top of this song.. what an american treasure

  • ohhh yes, I have this album and for me is the best of the best of Doris Day!!!! I love her!!!!!!!

  • I used to watch her TV shows in the mid 60s as a little boy, i cant believe when i saw this, that she sang a bossa nova tune, and one of my fave ones ! 40 years on and I'm only beginning to learn what a fantastic singer she was with a most beautiful voice. By the way now i know where Queen Latifah got her lyrics for her version from, cos its different than the one other singers did, like Frank Sinatra.

  • man it took me years to appreciate what an incredible singer she is, now her voice simply melts me...

  • This inspiring singing Icon, set the pace for all girl singers to follow. Thanks. Laura.

  • She had the most brilliant style of phrasing. Her & Nat King Cole. They sang lyrics taking priority over the song's time signature. That's the real meaning of a jazz singer to make the statement or expression come out as you'd speak it but stay within the musical measure. Notice Cole often let's 1/2 a measure go by before he'd then start singing the whole lyric of the measure giving a stunning conversational effect. Only he & Doris could sing as if they were intimately singing just to you.

  • @Thunderbird7090 Frank Sinatra and others also had/have what you are speaking of here.

  • Beautiful song. Beautiful voice. The perfect combination. I love both Doris Day and Tom Jobim.

  • Man, if Doris Day could sing in Portuguese!! Just imagine!

  • @nauort23 She could, as in those days, you had to beable to master anything. If they had set the song before her in Portugese and told her to master it, she would have, she is an amazing intelligent actress.

  • Dreamy.

  • Was this Doris singing to the orchestration of Andre Previn? Wasn't this album "Doris and Andre" or something to that effect? Patrick

  • This from Doris' album LATIN FOR LOVERS.

Her album with Andre Previn is called DUET.

  • perfect.

  • A great music. A great singer.
