What memories this song has for me. It relates exactly how I felt about my wife when I first set my eyes on her (and still do). No, nothing vulgar or ignorant, but how I knew that we would be blessed together to have two beautiful children and to continue to raise them with the same love and devotion that we swore we would. My favorite part begins the second verse @ 1:55 when Billy says: " I want my baby to have shiny eyes like you - I hope and pray that he smiles the same way you do!"

Young brother it was truly a magical time to a young person. I was 15 in 1979 and I had the time of my life listening to classic grooves from the likes of The Isley Brothers, Barry White, EWF, Cameo, Slave, The Ohio Players, The Commodores, Rufus and Chaka Khan and of course this timeless classic from Billy Paul. I'd play the slow jams over the phone to the honeys that I was talking to and they'd just melt. House parties with blue adn red lights. It was a great time indeed!!
