What I love about Wikus is how he's such a believable charactor. I mean he's not some cliche' action hero who somehow manages to stay cool through tons of crap (like the kid in the Transformers movies, my god >__>) but he starts off as just a normal guy trying to get by, and is kind of a douchebag (Wikus himself is cool, but his job requires him to be a douchbag to "prawns" :/) then when all this crazy stuff happens to him he doesnt just get a gun and go Rambo, he did what anyone would have--

I laughed all the way through this film at their accents, especially when they say prawn and cat food, it's hilarious! But then when I saw the end where he gave his wife the flower I was quite sad. I can't wait for the second one.

it's a fookin outrage that this movie didn't get to win Best Picture.I have no respect or regard left for the choices of the Academy.Always have to send an overrated drama movie over an action or sci-fi based film.The previous year they screwed around with The Dark Knight and then this.The Hurt Locker was very over-hyped by critics and in reality is very overrated.But what can I say,the last movie i remember being Oscar worthy was Crash in 2004

@receiverhitch, yeah its good humor. I've been laughing my ass off trying to imitate wikus and his lines. He does so well in the role with that dumb/ignorant smile he carries for much of the story. Truly what makes it comical.

If you don't recall the TV Series (probably on NIck At Night in syndication now...) H.M. (Howling Mad) Murdock (played by Dwight Schultz on TV Series) was the always bickering genius who, "crazy like a fox" could in the shows (like another TV Show's eponymous star MacGuyver could also do) construct a gun out of odds and ends.
