  • 5 people knew iris (don't normally make those kinda jokes but couldn't resist)

  • 2:26 Gangsta Shit

  • I don't know about everybody else, but I think he died after this and the scene that followed was a hallucination so to speak. Thoughts?

  • @californiarednek I just re-watched this a few weeks ago, and I gotta say, I agree with you. It seems like a little too happy of an ending for such a dark movie. I think this is how Travis envisioned things would play out after his rampage, but not the reality.

  • suck on this BANG

  • You don't know anybody named iris

I don't know nobody named iris

You sure you don't know anybody named iris?

I told you i don't know nobody named iris

So you don't know anybody named iris?

Should have went on for another 5 mins lol. Would have been hilarious

  • that's how i want my ending to be

  • 1:43 Le'ts give him a hand!!!

  • One of the greatest actors of all time in one of his best performances. 10 out of 10 hands down, De Niro is a resident badass.

  • lol scene* and metamorphisis67 ok will do just wondering cause of that 67 in you s/n are you an authentic hippie?

  • mohab18 you must be a pimp if you dislike this movie so much or that pimp was your dad there is another seen after this so the ending is better and this movie rules cocksucker and yeah

  • SUCK ON THIS.......... BANG!

  • The town I live in could use a few people like Travis Bickle, and a "real rain" to wash away all the scum

  • Terrible movie

  • @mohab18 Go see Twilight then Asshole . You should show some respect

  • @Lazar3451

Go suck some dick, this movie is actually the only movie worse than Twilight.

  • @mohab18 and why may i ask ?

  • @Lazar3451

Twilight at least has a plot, it has terrible acting, but I would take a horrible story over no story what so ever.

  • @mohab18

Are you really comparing this fine piece of art to Twilight? Piss off dude.

  • @mohab18 TAXI DRIVER DOESN'T HAVE A PLOT ????? MAYBE YOU ARE TOO STUPID TO UNDERSTAND BRO .But comparing twilight's plot to taxi driver YOU ARE PATHETIC !!!!Why dont you go and see the reception and the reviews of the film or maybe tell me something else Taxi drver is historical movie for the movie industry in many ways .What has Twilight or maybe other movies of the same kind offered ????

  • @mohab18 I guess if you just want to be spoon fed some horse shit you wouldn't like this movie.

  • worst movie ever....

  • Have you ever heared the italian dubbing?

  • De Niro is one scary muther fucker in this, you know you've got trouble when some cunt aproaches you looking and talking like that... brilliant actors..

  • ..Deniro and Pacino are both legends

  • @moviebuff383 Yeah, but De Niro has sold out more than Pacino has. There was a time before "Midnight Run" when I used to think De Niro will never sell-out no matter what, this guy is the last of the true artists. How friggin wrong I was. He does so much crap now it's pathetic. Pacino has sold out less, but has never worked with Scorsese. I wonder why ? You'd think he'd be a perfect fit for any number of Scorsese's films. Scorsese burned out a long time ago so it doesn't even matter now.

  • that is no the ending.

  • i love watching old school movies when im high which is alot hope my future wife is into that. love this movie. like the shining and movies like that up in smoke type of mov.s to that kind of think makes me feel like a summer of love hippie. peace and love Legalize it. ironic posting peace and love on this clip lol.

  • @alijacar You wanna laugh till your rolling on the floor? Watch the pilot episode of "Chico & the Man" stoned.

  • Fucking amazing movie

  • At 3:40 , What Travis is thinking: *clik*....WHAT??? Goddmit, I can't do anything right!!

  • "Hey Sport"

  • how is he considered a villain? time magazine put him in the top 50 for villains when he should be considered a protagonist...

  • @ScottAdams1993

    You mean anti-hero

  • I really identify with his character

  • @AllConsumingHatred What do you mean?

  • @AllConsumingHatred I know what you mean by viewing your profile.

  • Comment removed

  • 4:49 ....gives me chills, everytime.

  • I`m putting Taxi Driver" on right now!!Scorses`s pictures just happens to be an obsession of mine. Some of the comments upon here are mind boggling..¬_¬

  • In an interview with Martin Scorsese,he stated that Travis (De'Niro) actually did all of this,it wasn't a hallucination or dream as some think,Travis did attempt to kill Palentine and then succeeded in killing the three men in the apartment complex. He later recovered and went back to driving his cab,and in the end scene he has a look that Scorsese said was showing that Travis wasn't a hero,it was just a matter of time before he did something like this again and then he may be in the wrong.

  • The doorman gets part of his right hand blown off, stabbed in his left, & pistol whipped several times, but manages to follow Travis upstairs determined to kill him. That doorman was one tough SOB.

  • @mvembathegriot And also got shot in the gut before following Travis upstairs

  • Never saw this movie and now I know why. Brutal and vile!

  • how do you get shot in the neck and live?

  • @4AJWP The shot probably just grazed him. Besides, what law says movie shootings have to be realistic?

  • @DrSamba1 good point dog

  • @4AJWP Because the bullet skimmed his neck.

  • I love Checker Cabs..

  • 2:20 is the most epic pistol whip of all time

  • Is it just me or does de niro look like stza in this movie?

  • He's not dead, stop saying that he is.

  • hes dead and yet theyre going to be making a sequal... lol

  • AMAZING!!

  • NYC IN RUNS THIS TOWN,I GOTTA SHOW MY LOVE FOR TAXI DRIVER,DEATHWISH,FRENCH CONNECTION,SERPICO,MANIAC,MIDNIGHT COWBOY,THE GODFATHER MOVIES,AND MANY OTHERS THAT NYC KILLED IT WHEN IT CAME TO U.S. CINEMA.

  • @17234772918711255237 Dog Day Afternoon, Cruising, The Panic in Needle Park, Raging Bull, Goodfella's (although it's not only set in NYC)... I'm sure I'm forgetting some too :)

& Carlito's Way; although it's not considered a classic it's still a great film imho and captures that whole mid70's vibe of NYC and holy crap, the ending made me cry.

  • @skramamme Those films you quoted are absolutely astonishing! I love them all!

  • No wonder Jodie's a dyke.

  • does he die in the end

  • @messi910141516181930 watch the movie!

  • I finde this scene kinde of funny cause you aren't expecting him to take out that gun and shoot that other guy when he does. I mean theres no dramatic music or tell tale close up shots or verbal preliminaries, .. he just sudenly draws that gun on him and POP!! And, effectualy, your kinde of suprised right along with the guy that got shot on screen there .

  • @Skulldini yea alot of movies in the 70's didnt have that big build up where as today you get a sense something is going to happen....unless its a girl getting hit by a bus in final destination lol

  • Robert De Niro is one of the best movie actors ever

  • @92af In addition to his stellar acting performance, didn't DeNiro kinda set the standard for the punk rocker look, about a year or so before the punk phenomenon even really happend, in this flick, .. . and does he ever receive credit for THAT ?

  • @Skulldini De Niro, receives all the credit and respect in the world,he receives more credit than Martin Scorsese, and that truly is something to behold.

  • @92af I think Robert De Niro & Al Pacino IS the best actors of all time

  • @RestTonight Al Pacino???? no way, he is too booring, Robert De Niro is far better than him.

  • @92af Al Pacino is boring? don't make me laugh...

  • To violent!

  • A real human being

    and a real hero

  • @shirtfag that would actually be pretty cool if they played that at the end :)

  • The film critic Leonard Maltin called the movie "irredeemable trash".

Seriously, what the fuck does he know?

  • Guile's theme would go great with this

  • hold down 6 for gay butt sex

  • kk

  • 2:43. Might be the greatest look of shock ive ever seen on a mans face.

  • Probably one of the best endings in cinema.

  • Scorsese, should be knighted for being an absolute genius!!!

  • He`s totally lost it,poor fella.

  • haha that fagget that snuck up behind him got what he deserved pussy ass old man

  • hähähäh..so cool

  • If you mute this and play the ending of the song "East Hastings", by GodSpeed You! Black Emperor; if you synchronise it just right, you get a quite fitting soundtrack. I felt as though it adds to the film in some respect.

  • I don't get it...he gets shot in the neck but survives?

  • @Sappyspartan He never died instantly,,he died shortly afterwards with massive blood loss.

  • @Honeybowtie Wait so what about the stuff after this scene? Is that just his afterthoughts after he dies or what?

  • @Sappyspartan Aye,you`re on the right track. He reenacted his future before his day`s begun. He was under the impression his mission was in good faith. The scum of the streets drove him to insanity, almost. He pictured himself as a hero for saving,Iris from the pimp.He then pictured himself being the local hero, and the girl whom he was besotted by gave him a second chance. He accomplished his mission before it happened.

  • @Honeybowtie if he thinks hes a hero, then why did he try to kill himself at first?

  • @Relayer1968 He imagined himself as a hero before the happening. He never killed himself,he attempted it. He died from being shot in the neck.

  • @Honeybowtie No he survived he got in a coma for 4 months

  • @1337wuzty1337 No he did not.The man lost his mind. You`re winding me up,,are you serious? "A coma"okay,,He was shot in the neck, the arm and lost his mind in the process,. he also.killed a couple of guys,,don`t you think he would have been jailed for murder,if he survived?

  • @Honeybowtie ok i admit i accually dont rembember exactually bot he survived thats the point. He had already lost his mind when he got back from vietnam

  • @1337wuzty1337 He never was in Vietnam" It was all in his head. I had to watch it,,my answer remain`s the same. He was under the impression his mission was to save the day,,.He received a letter from Iris`s Mom and Dad,,the letter shows it was written in his handwriting,. Somebody had to wipe out the scum on the streets,.

  • @Honeybowtie no he was in vietnam they don't talk about it but he says that he left it in 1973

  • @1337wuzty1337 I`m too tired to dispute it. Even if he were in Nam,don`t you think he`d have a better job than just being an old taxi driver? I think so.

  • @Honeybowtie he had no education need more info?

  • @1337wuzty1337I say different.I disagreed. Nope,.Your info`s not relevant nor helpful.

  • @Relayer1968 My apologizes(I just read your comment properly)you said,"why did he try" I misinterpreted what you said.Still,my answers in the first response.

  • @Sappyspartan I meant to send you a message and ended up sending it to myself,,it don`t matter, though.

  • @Honeybowtie Which film do you find to be scarier,,"Cape Fear or "Taxi Driver.I`d say Cape Fear`s the scariest..

  • @Honeybowtie Mine ano!!!!

  • @Sappyspartan Small calibre gun.

  • bloody epic

  • You know that DeNiro still looks the same after thirty years

  • @Shinigami88X1 No he doesn't, but the facial expressions haven't changed.

  • @PopVulure nah he does, like some actors and actress without the drugs and surgeries shill look the same. A bit older but the same.

  • @Shinigami88X1 Uh, not at all. His facial expressions are obviously still there but he looks way older.

  • this ending is not exactly perfect visually. marty had to d-saturate the color so that the violence would not be "too graphic" for the shoot out.

for that i say to the MPAA: FUCK YOU!!!

no one messes with martin scorsese' s masterpiece.

  • @MrGamer990 the desaturation works for it though. it makes it feel surreal and separates it from the rest of the movie.

  • Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this movie, but its funny we're 'allowed' to see violent scenes like this over and over in media but you're not allowed to express your opinion and say anything "hurtful" towards another person (lol hatemongering)... they really do have us by the balls...

  • The funny thing is that a guy gets his fingers shot off at 1:45 and doesn't make a sound. Yet, when the same guy is shot in the shoulder with sparks flying at 2:17

he freaks out and starts with the "i'll Kill You".

I watch this when i feel down and can't stop laughing.

  • @LeCorky That was .44 first, then was 38 and he misseed him.

  • You got a gun? suck on this.

  • awesome scene

  • This sums up last night for me

  • Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!Ill Kill You!!

  • 2:38 - Woody Allen's a terrible shot!

  • I love how he paid $125 for the walther 380 and never used it

  • @Thespankonater yea he did...he shot a spook in a supermarket and the clerk took it from him you unattentative cocknocker.....

  • @killa420herb Lmao!

  • @Thespankonater yeah, remember that Clerk taking it from Travis after he shot the black dude in the market?

  • I don't know nobody name Irissss

  • De Niro in his prime.

  • I think the guy wants to kill Travis, just a hunch.

  • ....timeless scene......one of the best in all of "modern" cinema.......imho

  • De Niro is a shell of his former self as an actor, this is such an impressive performance he put on in Taxi Driver.

  • suck on this yeaaaaaah

  • ahhh don't shoot him -- SPLAT!

  • this movie ended perfectly.

  • this film was very epic & interesting :D one of my favorite movies ever made. But was this all a dream to Travis?

  • It's strange; Right after this scene, they call him a hero in the papers, and never hold a trial for the murders. But today they will throw you in prison for triple homicide, regardless if the murder victims deserved it or not. I don't understand why they don't do that anymore. It's okay to kill people who deserve it!

  • @MrChicago44 Actually that might not be the issue. The ending scene could be his last thoughts as he is dying. The fact that he isn't convicted strengthens this theory..

  • @JuliusDr scorcese came out and clarified it indeed happen and it wasnt as roger ebert had though when reviewing the movie, that the ending scene were his dying thoughts. So the part after this scene, the letter and taxi drive, indeed occur. I believe the ebert open ending of the dying thoughts would have been cool but it was just an idea.

  • love the soundtrack dont think it was needed in this scene

  • are you talking to me?

  • HAHAHA I LIKE IT HOW WHEN HE CHECKS IV THERES ANY BULLETS LEVT HE POINTS THE GUN AT THE GUYS HEAD XD

  • lol, that pimp kick 1:05

  • The pimp is dressed like Jack Sparrow lol Pirates of the Carribean

  • why wasnt he arrested? i know he killed a bunch of scum bags but thats still murder to the police.

  • @scouser96100 its called trying to be the hero

  • @holysaintspanos hmm...

  • @scouser96100 and what is wrong with killing scum? it's not like they are human.

  • soooo coolll......

  • I LOVE IT HOW HE SAYS SUCK ON THIS.

  • Three people weren't interested in knowing how everything was in the pimp business.

  • Crazy motherfucker

  • ill kill you!!!!!!

  • 1:41 "HEY!" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH!

  • At the end of the day, was Travis a psycho, or a hero???

  • @JBoogeyman Both but really more of a hero because he wasn't shooting innocent people these are drug dealers and pimps

  • @Bradster420 dont forget is first target wasnt the pimps, and drug dealers. But you got to wonder, would Travis, snap again, and kill other people?

  • ill kill you loool

  • Robert DeNiro...Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The Godfather part 2, Casino....now....Little Fockers.......WHAT. THE. FUCK. HAPPENED.

  • @CormacCamus you forgot HEAT, that movie was fuckin sick

  • @GodlessMartyr666 Heat in my opinion is on par with Taxi Driver, i'd say both are classics.

  • @CormacCamus Don't forget Goodfellas.

  • @CormacCamus

It's not his fault that there are no good movies and no good parts out there anymore.

Almost everything on TV and Film nowadays is shit, and I wish I were exaggerating.

  • @CormacCamus modern hollywood doesnt give an F. Thats what happened. That is why I hate modern hollywood.

  • @CormacCamus Don't worry the man's going back to te awesomenessthat made him famous right here, I just found out he's going to be in an upcoming action flick coming out on September called Killer Elite with Jason Statham and Clive Owen

  • @CormacCamus what about godfellas?

  • Comment removed

  • the deer hunter

  • @CormacCamus He got older, plus the movies of today pale in comparison to those of years ago.

  • @CormacCamus he needs to collaborate with marty again

  • @CormacCamus money

  • @CormacCamus dont forget Goodfellas

  • @CormacCamus you forgot about goodfellas de niro was in that too

  • @CormacCamus He got old...

  • @CormacCamus He's getting older, ya dumbass. I don't think he gives a shit anymore now that he's worth like a trillion dollars.

  • back in the days when de niro made good films...............that was rather a long time ago.

  • @suttonguy Limitless doesn't seem too bad

  • badass modafuka

  • 2:41

  • I always imagined it that the gun really did go off the first time he shot it into his chin. The following scenes are just the lights in Bickle's head flickering as they go out. But now I see it kind of differently.

I just love his face as he goes through this.

  • you know this isnt the ending scene right?

  • @underbightdog23

It should have been; that would have made it the best film ever, rather than just a great one.

  • @DouglasHall1947 sorry, but the ironic ending made it for me. The fact that he is praised for his violent acts makes it better
