So, watching Nepalese forces attacking unarmed monks somehow instigates hateful rants towards the Chinese? How does that work? I am Buddhist, but it bothers me that the same people who criticize China turn a blind eye towards India doing the same in Kashmir. Just becuse India allows the Dalai Lama to set up a community in India, we are supposed to ignore their crimes. I don't agree with what China is doing, but we are not supposed to be hypocrites and encourage misguided hate.

I am a zen budist, and I am very concerned about the situation of the Tibetan people, but it must be said that THE SOLDIERS THAT WE SEE HITTING THE MONKS, WEARING GRAY UNIFORMS, ARE NOT CHINESE. They are soldiers from Nepal. These events happend in 2008 when nepal was still under the repressive pro-UK monarchy of the Gurkhas. Notice in 2:20 the sign that appears in western script behind the soldiers. And in indian script in 2:31. No chinese soldiers appear hitting the monks in this video.

Thanks, I have studied some Buddhism, although I am Roman Catholic. I have respect and see much truth in Buddhism. I don't see any Buddhist monks having in kind of violent protest, so I see no need for them to be hitting them with anything... I don't know where I stand on the whole Tibet VS China thing, I don't know enough about it, but now I want to get some info. For now I might lean more twords Tibet side, because I feel Communist China Government is not truthful about many things
@GuamKomudo In my opinion China has got long term plans for its future, the comminists are to realise these plans. Actually economically there's no communism in China but a special kind of capitalism. The official China offers Tibetans free food in exchange for their birthright to use their own language, customs, etc...I am sure the whole free world will suffer because of China's rule on this Planet. I hope Tibet will be free from persecution very soon. I urge everyone to contact their elected officials to pressure China into releasing Tibet from their iron grasp.
We can say free Tibet all we want. With out some one some way to act against it. nothing will change. In this reason i believe that humans have so much potential and yet little motivation to better them selfs. every nation is drivin on selfish motivations of power. even thoses that do nothing could yet be held responsible for not teaching other nations how they run. life and co-operation is so simple yet we focus on destroying ourselfs. that is a fact and id love you to disprove that.
The biggest messege i get from this is that america is not the only one that has had tyranic like government where the government is affecting other people. The only way to a world peace is in no desire of power. If no one wanted the selfish need for power it would be impossible to have tyranny. whats the worst part about that is its the least likely thing to happen. i would bet my life that any one of you who read this will be hit with lightning five times in a day b4 the world is set strait.
violence does not come from Chinese people, it comes from minds that are let loose with mental afflictions and ignorance of the true nature. Practice. Practice. Protect your mind and heart with wisdom and compassion. Watch this video again, and have no anger for the Chinese whatsoever, instead think about bodhicitta
