They've played exactly the same set that they did earlier that year in another venue and it was all the same whohoo stuff (boring). But I've been twice to ltj this year in 2 small venues and it where total different shows, it was fun, it was surprising and so on. THATS because they do whatever the fuck they want and dont get told what they have to do!
If Green Day And LTJ both wanted to bring out a cover album dedicated to 50 cent or something ridiculous like that. Green day would be told they weren't allowed to as it would obviously flop. Where as LTJ would do it anyway, because thats what they want to do, thats the difference between them. It is size of fan base. Its writing with album,fans and money in mind against writing with yourself and your own love of music in mind.
Green Day sold out because from their entire back catalogue of very mild if any political influence they decided coincidentally on the back of all the wank things your American president did to decide to write songs about that.
They basically took advantage of everyone feeling pretty messed up about what to do and made some dollar out of it, Less Than Jake when they signed to WB at least played the same kinda stuff, and they got out of it when they got told they couldn't.

I like Green Day, just heard of them like a year ago, and I have all of their albums, from 1,039/SOSH (The compilation, not the original, 39/Smooth) all the way to American Idiot,I like all of it, an I'm not some fucking fangirl like alot of the retarded fuck for fans they have these days, but the only difference is that they are more mature now. Green Day is my favorite band, but I'm oppen to Bad Religion, NOFX, Sex Pistols, Clash, Ramones, Operation Ivy, Rancid, Dead Dennedys, DK Murphys, B09
