hi dude nie board im thinking of getting the pro version but i know the sizes are 32x16x3.5 does the 3.5 inches mean thats how talll it is at the top bit?
Hmm - Although you have enough space underneath to fit another voodoo lab pedal power supply, the problem is that you will need to cut at least one exact hole in the front as you already have to expose the IEC power input. Does that make sense?
what exactly is a voodoo labs 2+ .. im new to this and and what does it do? does it make it so you don't need to use individual adapters for each pedal? thanks for any help!
I love this video i think its ace! Just a quick question because i am using pedals with lots of different voltages, i am building my own power supply unit so could you please tell me how much of a gap there is in the mounting spot so i know how big to cut the metal casing. Sorry if thats confusing i don't know if i worded it very well
Honestly, I think you would be better off by simply buying a power supply unit than building your own. I think by the time you figure out power filtering, voltage regulation, you might spend if not exceed the price of the Voodoo Labs 2+ that has voltage adjustment included, etc.
But if it helps, here are the dims of my Voodoo Power 2+: 6" wide x 3.4" deep x 1.75" tall (152 x 86 x 45 mm)
The pedalboard doesn't come with the cables. It is just a pedalboard frame and Velcro to attach your pedals. The Voodoo power supply comes with all sorts of cables.
If I remember well, the Voodoo power comes with the right power cable for the DL4. You only need to switch the power on that output of the Voodoo to 18v.
Routes as in drilling routers? I am using what they cal a UNIBIT - you need a 1/2 diameter hole for that Thick Panel Jack (see my prev comment on where to find it).
Excellent video on your board. I have a question regarding the yellow lead coming out of your DL4 delay pedal to the front of the Pedaltrain at 4:29? Where did you get this lead wire? I've tried Radio Shack and Guitar Center and cannot find this?
Any help on this would be most appreciated! Thanks again.
Thanks for posting the video. What do you call the extension/jack from your green delay pedal to the Pedaltrain front chassis at 4:36? Where can I get one of these? Really great idea by the way!
Is there a pedaltrain pedal board that can carry these? : Rocktron Zombie Digitech Whammy Snarling Dog Mold Spore Wah Dunlop Original Cry Baby Line 6 FM4 Line 6 MM4 Boss DD3 Boss DD3 Boss RC2 thx
I suspect the Pedaltrain 2. I suggest arranging them on the floor to your desired configuration then measure the length of pedalboard needed. The Pedaltrain 2 has a 24x12.5x2 inches frame.
Get it from (replace the (dot)com wit the actual dot and com :-): GABKITS(dot)com
you have nicest pedalboard man, i love how practical it seems, i am going to order my pedals that way too! just becuase it looks very neat and easy to transport
i had one of these i went through customs with one they look at it using a x ray and see all these wires and nobs and my metronome turned on it was ticking they thought iit was a bomb at the airport i cant go into detail but i got mad
You said you drilled that "jack" to your pedalboard...how did you connect the cable that is attached to it....cause I was looking at some guitar input jacks and they look similar to the one you drilled in there I just dont know how to connect mine. Can you help?
It does a little indeed but it really doesn't bother me. But then reading Peter Cornish's impressions on true bypass vs buffering, will leave you even more confused. I guess it comes down to try it out.
hey ive been looking around the guitarcenter site and im going to buy the dean vendetta xm guitar for 100 dollars and i have 200 left to spend on pedals. i already have the crybaby wah pedal and deathmetal distortion. someone got any suggestions on what pedals to get that are affordable? thanks
I would reccoment Neutriks since they are robust. But it really comes down to your personal routing, space issues, etc. Hang on until I'll post that video on how to make a patch cable.
I heard of those but to be honest I don't think it is worth the price. Wait to see how neatly an cheap you can make your own cables. I'll make a video soon.
Not sure what you mean by "don't use + or -". For sure you need to match the pedals polarities. That is if it is a "center -" than you have to use that. Wrong polarity connection can fry your pedals.
Adrian. Usually every pedal has (or should have) a symbol next to the adapter input (9v for instance) showing the jack input polarity diagram (showing what polarity goes on the inner connector of the jack).
It is the new MXR Phase 90. If you can, find the old version or mod the new one. It sounds harsh, and sterile to my ears, and it kicks the volume up somewhat.
hey saw your videos,m really impressd with your sound and set up brother.i bought stomp boxes bt m little confusd how to order up my pedals and all gears to get good professional sound.can u plz help with this?would be really great man ,thanx. i have, BBE pedal supply power, bossDD3, bossBD2, bossCS3, ibanez TS9, bossNS2, boss RC20XL(loop pedal), Joe satchurator dist pedal by VOX, boss CS3, line 6pod xt live, crybaby all kind of suggestions also welcome bro.thnks
Many guitarists put their volume pedal first, so they can do volume swells with their delays, or control the amout of gain from an overdrive pedal, but if you only want to use is for 'volume' and not to control other effects, put it at the end of your setup. Hey 1 really important question. Please reply back. I really like your idea of drilling an output jack for the DL4 but what kind of jack did you use? And how did you mount it? did you just simply drill a hole and stick in the jack and then mounted it with washers and nuts? Thanks please reply back soon.
hey man, I really like how you did this. It's very clean, and takes up very little space. Those low profile patch cables make a huge difference, so you can place as many pedals on the board as possible. I also like how you mounted the power supply as well as your line out jack mounting. Very clean, and I'm going to use what you have done as a reference point for my project. Great Job!!!
Thanks a lot for the comment! It seems like there are a lot who like this version and would like to know how to make the inter-connect cables and the output jack. I think I'll make a video tutorial where I'll show it. Stay tuned!
You look like someone who would appreciate the TOGGLE pedal. Just search on YouTube for "toggle pedal" if you want to see a new way to funk with your effects!
I have the same pedalboard and was wanting to add input/output jacks like you did on the chassis. Could you give some more info about that jack on the front of your board, and where could I find a jack like that?
Nice video, I also have one... the medium one with the soft case. I absolutely agree with the way you have connected your pedals, as well.
In mine, I have two pedal lines, one before the amp and the other in the effects loop of the amp. I have managed to hide and attach a Visual Sound One Spot under there. I must say your drilling work is perfect...

Can you explain each pedal?..its uses and names..
pls..
coz I want to get one.
the problem is I dont know its uses..
blackace68 2 years ago
I'll try, from IN to OUT:
TUNER - tunes
DOD 440 - home made envelope pedal made popular Johnny Greenwood from Radiohead - it acts like an auto-wah.
SMALL CLONE - chorus, made popular by Curt Cobain of Nirvana.
MXR Phase 90 - a phaser made popular by Eddie Van Halen in the 80's or so. It is hard to explain the tone shaping in words.
LINE6 DL4 - a delay modeling pedal. Also a looper.
DS-1 (the good one) - overdrive pedal
TREMOLO - home made tremolo pedal.
Hope it helps.

How you powering your DL4 With the Voodoo Lab? You need a special cable to power it? I haven't got a cable i can power it with on the Dunlop Brick
TGA92 2 years ago
If I remember well, the Voodoo power comes with the right power cable for the DL4. You only need to switch the power on that output of the Voodoo to 18v.
Hope it makes sense.

GuitarPedalBoard 2 years ago 20
Routes as in drilling routers? I am using what they cal a UNIBIT - you need a 1/2 diameter hole for that Thick Panel Jack (see my prev comment on where to find it).
GuitarPedalBoard 2 years ago
why are you only useing 5 outputs on the voodoo lab pedal power, if you have 8 pedals?
Fender7Gibson 2 years ago
I had to daisy-chain a couple of them because of space issues, I used the right angle daisy-chain power cable (bought separately).
The power cables shipped with the voodoo power are straight (not angled).
GuitarPedalBoard 2 years ago
I wanted the stereo output of the DL4 for the ping-pong delay effect.
GuitarPedalBoard 2 years ago
where can i get one of those routers for guitar outputs? i'm custum making my own pedal board and i may need one of those.

Your local hardware store should have them. They are called "Unibit". You need one that goes up to 1/2" diameter.

Good point of the Volume pedal but I ran out of space. Thanks!

Stay tuned!

what cables do you use to cennect your pedals
riles6789 3 years ago
I will be posting a tutorial demo on how to make them and I will be listing the part numbers and the source. Check back soon!

You look like someone who would appreciate the TOGGLE pedal. Just search on YouTube for "toggle pedal" if you want to see a new way to funk with your effects!

what cables are you using to connect the pedals. If you built them yourself, where can I buy some like that? Thanks
riles6789 3 years ago
built them myself - will be making a video to show you how to make them. really easy.

I have the same pedalboard and was wanting to add input/output jacks like you did on the chassis. Could you give some more info about that jack on the front of your board, and where could I find a jack like that?

hey, if i get a PT-2 for this, will it still have the brackets for the voo doo lab 2+? and will the ac inputs be in the same hole?
vepino13 3 years ago
Yes, the PT-2 has the same brackets and the vodoo lab 2+ will align perfectly with the holes.

is it a line selector?i am looking for a pedal that could switch 2 or more individual pedals at a time.
arkinneas 3 years ago
Nope I don't have a line selector on this one. Boss has a good one (A/B Box).

hey how did you make the 1/4 output jack? can you teach me.
vepino13 3 years ago
what cables did you use to create your train?
gheston11 3 years ago
I made them myself using the 90 degree angle jacks and regular instrument cable.
GuitarPedalBoard 3 years ago
What brand are those 90 degree angle jacks? I am looking around but I only find ones by neutrik an they are too bulky for a pedal board set up
truthsandrights 3 years ago
yep - Neutriks are bulky. I am using some generic name but very well made. I'll post a video soon on how to make them.
