And to those saying Pavarotti's voice was louder than Sutherland, that's only because of the recording. Many voices sound HUGE in recordings, but are actually not in real life. Sutherland's voice was always said to surround anyone when she sang, and her voice was far bigger than Pavarotti's. I'm not saying his voice wasn't strong, though, because it certainly was. Sutherland's voice was the size of Nilsson's, only with a more lyric, less steely sound.

@Gaspipenicklioni I'm a huge pavarotti fan, but sutherland could blow anyone away, you have no idea of the size of her voice. She's up there with nilsson flagstad and vickers in voice size... Much bigger voice than luciano.
@FeelinMinnesota No way, you can barely hear her when they hit the top notes together. Listen to them seperately, Luciano's voice hits you like a giant laser. Both legendary singers though. Later
@Gaspipenicklioni But this is a recording, it isn't the same as live in a theater.. Everyone who attended opera those days said there was not a bigger voice than sutherland's except for nilsson. Famous as she may have been, voice is very hidden. She should release and open her throat. Unlike Pav., he was brave and vulnerable with a colourful voice which was well defined n controlled.

Saluti
I was sitting here thinking how intimidating it would be to stand up there and sing with that giant austrailian woman. But Pavarotti really had the goods to bring it and handed it back.
Courage to all those without a loved one who is sad, but God is taking strength in your despair and you will become Fort hear these songs that gives you peace and love

I seem to remember him saying that his breath control was taught to him by Joan during their Australian tour.

rinarix1 1 year ago
AleBro83 1 year ago
rinarix1 1 year ago
Saluti.
AleBro83 1 year ago
rinarix1 1 year ago
Saluti
AleBro83 1 year ago
rinarix1 1 year ago
AleBro83 1 year ago
rinarix1 1 year ago
rinarix1 1 year ago
rinarix1 1 year ago
AleBro83 1 year ago
rinarix1 1 year ago
Saluti

I was sitting here thinking how intimidating it would be to stand up there and sing with that giant austrailian woman. But Pavarotti really had the goods to bring it and handed it back.
