@jonathan1234911 IN REGARDS TO YOUR COMMENT, BE THAT AS IT MAY, PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THEY ARE SINGING IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE. WHAT CONSERVATORY DID YOU STUDY AT? ALSO, HOW MANY FOREIGN LANGUAGES DO YOU SPEAK?
@dimiali You don't have to study in a consevatoire to see that the timing is bad. The fact that the people in the video study in a conservatoire mean that their timing should be perfect. It clearly is not.
I speak 2 foreign languages personally and am able to sing perfectly well in both. Singing in a foreign language does not mean that you sing out of sync with the orchestra. Flawed argument.
@dimiali Yes I could - I lead music in my Church and I do do better than this- and even if I couldn't, I'm well within my right to criticise the timing during a performance. If you go to the cinema, you can say it's a bad movie without being able to actually act or direct a Hollywood blockbuster.
@monkeyinaspasm PLEASE POST A VIDEO OF YOURSELF SINGING THESE PIECES IN ARABIC, AND THEN WE WILL SEE HOW "PERFECT" YOUR TIMING IS. MY ARGUMENT IS NOT FLAWED IN THE LEAST, AS I WAS MERELY SUGGESTING WE KEEP IN MIND THAT ENGLISH IS NOT THEIR "MOTHER TONGUE" AND THESE SONGS (FOR THE MOST PART) ARE NOT TRADITIONAL MIDDLE EASTERN SONGS. HOWEVER, I SUGGEST YOU REFRAIN FROM POSTING COMMENTS ON YOUTUBE, AND PAY MORE ATTENTION TO YOUR ENGLISH GRAMMAR (I.E. - "I DO DO BETTER THAN THIS").
Peace to our Lebanese Catholic brothers in Christ and may 2011 fill your country with Love and peace as only our Lord can give. Merry Christmas. A.M.D.G.

@cixelsyd40 Lol. In Greek X=H. but only this. => Hmas. It refers to Jesus Christ, but it's not the same. this is used by atheists to replace our Saviour's name with some freaking X.
We refer to Christos as Jesus Christos not Mr X or something, ok?
@divineplusplus chi and rho are commonly used by Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox churches to represent Jesus so it is definitely not an athiest creation.
Fantastic. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this. Especially since the choir still used the original words in Silent Night. Here in Britain many churches avoid such as "virgin mother and child" and many other 'un-politically correct' words. As a result I avoid their Christmas carol services. But now I know where to come to hear them performed properly. Lebanon. What a strange world we live in.
this concert is shown every year on Tele Liban (Television Lebanon). In Lebanon the birth of Christ is what Christmas is all about. Our Saviour is Alive!!
actually "xmas" came from the greeks im pretty sure, their word for christ was Xristos, so it substitues the christ in christmas making it Xmas. So it doesent matter

Though there are more and more religions that do not celebrate jesus's birth. (And atheists, like me)
I've always believed that carols and chants are the best way to learn of our own history.
and most importantly
learn of love that passed through so many centuries and so many families.
as you can see, not all atheists disrespect believers.

I think that the disparity between choir and orchestra is due to the placing of the mic's and/or the mixing process.

what is the name of the song they sing after 'deck the halls'? I love that song but I don't know it's name.

The song after "deck the halls" is "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen!"; first published in 1833 when it appeared in "Christmas Carols Ancient and Modern"
