@thebulldawg the boss 302 has ran 11.75 on just radials n/a the laguna seca does 0-60 3.9 standard the zl14.0 standard 3.8 auto the zl1 for 55,000 I don't think it all that great is rather get a gt 350 r which would kill the zl1 and go to American muscle and snatch the time they ran with there auto gt. Gm only has the vette.
The zl1 barley beats the boss 302. And still you have the gt 350 r which the zl1 dosnt even come close. Hennessey s/c the boss and its faster then the zl1 so gm lost before they started.

More power than anything else, more technology than anything else, and more car than anything else. Even the retuned, modified, and Ford suggested setting Boss 302 LS (the track-spec version of the track designed car) on barely legal tires couldn't even sniff the tailpipe of the manual ZL1.
Also, what would you call the video we're commenting on then? Clearly it must be a massive victory for GM, since it's a video of a supercharged GT500 competing against a standard SS, no retuned engine, suspension, and aero even like the Boss 302 LS. Yet the SS was able to stay within 1 tenth of a second of the supercharged $20k more expensive GT500, while the $48k 302 LS couldn't even stay within 3 tenths of the $55k ZL1...manual even. Not the faster automatic lol

@wolfpackfan2317 another way to look at it is this.with the GT500,and lets say the zl1.power wise you will get more with the GT500.they have 1000hp GT500 out there.you WILL NOT get that from a stock zl1 block.also from the factory FORD has a supercharger kit they will put on a 5.0 and you can get 624hp.ask them about that and compare that to what the ss cost and see if there is a huge difference.

Regular drivers will get worse times like this guy, not 11.9s. so i look at it like this: since a normal driver like myself can get low to mid 12s while saving 13k it seems better. zl1 and gt500 is a more fair comparison but the average performance differences between the ss and the gt500 isnt imo

That's right, an unbiased professional driver working for a mostly unbiased reputable source confirmed that the ZL1 is the most refined muscle car to date. More power than anything else, more technology than anything else, and more car than anything else. Even the retuned, modified, and Ford suggested setting Boss 302 LS (the track-spec version of the track designed car) on barely legal tires couldn't even sniff the tailpipe of the manual ZL1.

Regular drivers will get worse times like this guy, not 11.9s. so i look at it like this: since a normal driver like myself can get low to mid 12s while saving 13k it seems better. zl1 and gt500 is a more fair comparison but the average performance differences between the ss and the gt500 isnt imo

The car at the top of the list is Tanner Fausts racing Fiesta beating the second place car by 2s, and those cars included the Viper and the ZR1. @wolfpackfan2317 The 2012 5.0L Mustang GT beats the 6.2L Copycat SS Camaro and in 2013 it gets even worse for the Camaro. Chevy fans have proven they prefer style over substance as the Camaro keeps outselling the Mustang month after month. If you put the same rear tires on both of the above cars, the GT500 will run away from the Camaro like a bad habit and trip the lights a second and a half quicker in the 1/4 mile.

Chevy says the 6.2L SC ZL1 will do 60 in 4.0s 6M, & 3.9s 6A and gets 12 mpg city driving economically, not to mention getting slapped with the Gas Guzzler tax, and the Boss 17.

I know what the track was like. 4000+ ft. elevation, temps under 70, and clear skies. 2.5 seconds on a 2.2 mile track is HUGE..we're talking more than 10 car lengths, and it would've gotten worse with each lap.
