You know, I have always loved Chris's smile, especially when he smiled playing the Doctor...and this song was perfect for him...for some reason I have a tear in my eye and an urge to watch series 1 again!!! as Tiggs said..beautiful vid!!!
@OlafurNeal thanks, the idea for this video came out of a discussion on twitter about how Nine seemed to often seemed to smile as a way of covering up his pain, and someone said that this would be the perfect song for Nine. I am glad that came across for you. :)
@PsychologicalPower hmmmm... series 1 was the most successful series audience wise till series 4. I think over time David became very associated with the role because he was in it for so long. I think thats why he is seen to overshadow Chris more than anything. I think all three post 2005 Doctors have been excellent. Chris I think did a wonderful job relaunching the series for a new generation...:)
You could argue that it was only so successful since it was the return of the series, and people want to watch to see what the Show's like now. Also, I don't really like Matt Smith that much, not that a great a Doctor really, almost 2 Series in and I still haven't got used to him :P And don't get me wrong, I like David, but he's no better or worse than Ecclestion IMO.
@PsychologicalPower i personally think Matt is the the best of the three tbh. He captures the very essence of wo the Doctor is...the mad man with a box, old and young at the same time. And no, i don't agree people just tuned in to see what the show was like, a big part was because of it staring Chris, he gave the product so much kudos and respect at the time, when till his announcement the project was being mocked in the media with suggestions that Paul Denials would be cast!
Wow, you think Matt is the best of the 3? To me that seems crazy, but we all have our own opinion I guess. And I was glad when they announced Chris also, just because I loved him in Shallow Grave :D
@PsychologicalPower i actually think he is the best of eleven actually. Fell in love with Peter D when I was four years, but Matt tops even him in the role. He was born to play the part. I know a lot of other people feel the same, actually. As you say, it's all personal opinions, but i really don't think it's a crazy opinion to hold...;)

I think David Tennant just overshadowed Eccleston because David appeals to a larger audience, but Chris was definetely one of the better Doctors.
