spydergoalie35 Unless you were his doctor.. and you were not... trust the rest he is and was the true best singer for opera on recent times. It was not about his voice, it was about the whole. Pavarotti had everything: Voice, Personality, Acting abilities. He is truly missed
I don't care if he was lip singing or not ! He was there, and it was his voice that's what counts. He was the best at bringing people to opera. I'm not an opera fan at all but I still like his singing over any other singer in the world, so I listen to his opera .
I liked this telecast of the ceremony because it had my favorite news anchor Brian Williams co-hosting and he said, "And the master brings the house down," after Pavarotti's surprise performance. I loved that phrase. The performance is my favorite. It would have been better if the entire telecast was shown.
It was too cold for him to sing and for the orchestra to play it so he said he wouldn't do it. They finally convinced him to record it some weeks earlier and he did.
He really is lip synching, he was in a lot of pain at the time from his cancer and they thought it best for him not to sing live due to the conditions in Italy at the time, so he recorded it a few days or weeks (i forget) prior...
His last performance and his best performance!
