  • This episode kind of speaks for the decade that it was made in, although it was made (1961?) prior to a lot of the significant events that occurred in the decade. Rebellious youth ("Counter-culture"), adults/parents having a difficult time coming to terms with how quickly everything was changing (Nixon's silent majority, which would account for the inability of the adults to fight back against Anthony)... and of course Perry Como not having a place in it.

  • It's the 12th Imam that disappeared down a well and can only come about with a nuke exchange between Israel and Iran.

  • I can't even listen to Perry Como! Didja ever see The Simpsons TreeHouse of Horror where Bart turned Homer into a Jack-in-the-Box?

  • the ironic thing is ,,, parents of millennials acted this way to turn the Millennials into little monsters,,lol

  • This episode is a masterpiece of epic proportions. I am literally stunned at all of the gems found only in... The Twilight Zone. (Buuuhhmmm BEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHM... Bawm... BEEEEHHHHHMMMM...)

  • Loved the Simpsons take off on this one.

  • on Johnny Bravo they did a parody of this and talking tina

  • It's like if Haruhi suzumiyah was an evil tyrant... still, I would like to say it'll all be cool. If he grows up he might mature, if he doesn't, show him anime and at least he'd make the world interesting. XD

  • @Theearl444 If we ever see a parody of this with Haruhi as that reality warping kid, I'd be very impressed!

  • It's good I can't play it here!

  • 118 dislikes all must be people from the corn feild with YouTube accounts

  • What's so bad about the cornfield? Hang out, eat corn, doesn't sound so bad.

  • @posthumanfetus I don't think the cornfield is an actual cornfield where there is corn you can eat. It's some kind of hell that you can't escape.

  • 118 people are BAD men! I'm wishing you to the cornfield!

  • I've always thought of this episode as people who are trapped in Purgatory, and they are literally being tortured for deeds in another life that they clearly are no longer aware of. Maybe they hurt or murdered children and this is their punishment.

Imagine, you're in limbo with a demon that looks like a child, you don't know you're in limbo or why you've been sent there. The "cornfield" could be symbolic of another level or dimension in Purgatory. Anthony kills/sends you and you're free.

  • So i love this video because it makes me smile always reminds me of glensroom GLENSSSSSSSSROOM FTWWWWWWWW PEOPLE!

  • 118 people are pissing Anthony off.

  • @fubleduck Into the cornfield they go.

  • What did you just record this with your phone or something? oops sorry! It's good that you recorded this on your phone, Real good!

  • @iwannaseefunnyvidz Glensroom REPRESENT

  • The Simpsons hahahahahahahahaha

  • Considering the idiocy of the child's thoughts and his tunnel vision, if any of those adults could get over themselves, they could have blew his head right off.

Of course, that would have taken away a little bit from the story.

  • @ZhadoxFlamez i think the point is that people are too afraid or brainwashed to take matters into their hands and end the terrible situation they are in. you could look at real life examples all over the world where irrational dictators rule over people with an iron fist and they are unable or unvilling to do anything about it.

  • Quite disturbing.

  • @TheTrolologuy oh yeah with that stpid little man-girl who caused so much mysersy ...so much lol

  • HE GOT PWNED.

  • That cornfield is full of everything, except corn.

  • For years if I wanted to make my mama laugh....I would stare at her and say in a horrible sothern accent "you betta stop thinkin bad things about me"

  • lol

  • You know what that town needed? A SNIPER.

Tell Anthony that we're gonna play catch outside. He'll probably say yes, you both go outside "hey Anthony, go stand over there, right there.... perfect." Both of you play catch with the ball for a minute or two. Waiting 1500 feet, lying prone in the tall underbrush, is your marksman with his CheyTac M200 Intervention, or Barrett 50.cal. Wait for it...wait for it....Now take the shot! BOOM! Kid goes down. Town and world saved. The end.

  • @MalcolmRandall Nice try but Anthony can sense your thoughts regardless of location and he'll send you to "the Cornfield" which is probably a fate worse than death.

  • Today's YouTube is better than YouTube from three years ago. VEVO, UMG, WMG, and content IDs are just wonderful. Why, it's...real good. *Real* good.

  • You did a GOOD THING banishing those dead Osama photos to the cornfield, Anthony! You did a VERY GOOD THING!

  • Never watched that. But it was parodied in Johny Bravo cartoon.

  • wheres the twist in this episode??

  • fist of all, i really don't like the part where the man's severed head is on the jack in the box. It's creepy. Second of all, TELL ME WHERE THAT KID IS, CUZ I GOT A LIST OF PEOPLE TO SEND TO THE CORNFIELD! 3rd, if you've actually seen the video, it's really stupid at the end when the drunk dude is rambling on about perry como. Fourth, you should see the yer a bad man sparta remix.. That's all.

  • wish that his Will Robinson character did that to Dr.Zackery Smith.

  • the kid bears an eerie resemblance to me when i was little and alfred e neuman

  • It only holds 10,000 people? Well, there goes my list...

    Great episode!

  • 1 Person got sent to the cornfield.

  • someone shoulda killed him while he was thinking about the man

  • @TheRealGadiG big enough to hold 10,000 people and animals

  • when I was a kid. Thought it would be neat to be Anthony Freemont! (also, Gort)

  • "But it's....it's good that ya done that Anthony, why it's real real good that ya done that"

  • Anyone know the title of episode that has a woman living a lone in a huge house after the death of her father and she ends up talking to a mannequin of her father to keep company. The woman talks to it and cleans it. One night when she's alone in her room she breaks down and starts to cry because she is alone. Behind her a strange shadow of a man walking moves down the hall to her. Door opens she turns around and it's the mannequin of her father and it talks to her. THAT FREAKED ME OUT!!

  • A very classic thriller

  • I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS!

  • Is he already dead as a jack in the box or not until he's wished into the cornfield?

  • Gotta love the money they spent on special effects back in those days...

  • 6motion6, Nightmarish is right! Rod Serling and his writers had an uncanny knack of knowing the things that truly frightened people. Watch the episode called "Night Caller." He plays on that fear that arises within us when the phone rings in the middle of the night. Very spooky.

  • I wonder if when he wishes the people to the cornfield that they become the corn. So when he also makes it cold and snowy outside it kills everyone off as they were the corn. Or maybe this episode has a mean like we are all the children of the corn. Or maybe this episode isn't ment to be figured out because it's way too corny!

  • ok thats just creepy

  • BILLY WISH ALL THE MEXICANS INTO THE CORN FIELD PLEASE LOL

  • @stalag58 I think he did already. That's where corn chips come from lol.

  • I love the drum playing as he points his finger.....hahahahaha that's what he gets for being a very bad man and thinking those bad thoughts about him

  • The Jack in the Box imagery-creepy, creepy, creepy. It's the stuff nightmares are made of.

  • WOW<, what an episod. Twiglight zone was in reruns when i was 7 or 8 years old. This episode was on tv one evening.. WOW The talk at school the next day... DID YOU SEE TWILIGHT ZONE LAST NIGHT!??? He turnded the buy into a jack-in-the-box! WOW CHILLS!

  • I think the dilemma was that no one was willing to kill a cute, blue-eyed, pudgy-cheeked little boy, despite the fact that he was using his power to totally screw up the whole world. Except for the one guy after he got blitzed on peach brandy. Kids always want their own way.

Superior storytelling. That's what the Zone was all about.

  • @kurtb8474, I am wondering if some one will wish corrupt poiliticians into the "corn field"!

  • @kurtb8474 I'm betting some people HAVE tried to kill Anthony. They just failed because he can, you know... read their minds?

  • @kurtb8474 Kill him and then what? Either the kid blasted the rest of the world into oblivion or whisked Peaksville, Ohio away into some closed universe of its own. The kid might be the only thing that's keeping everyone in the town fed. Crazy as it seems, things might be worse if he dies. The only real hope is to try to reason with the kid as he matures.

  • @kurtb8474 Just like what Freud said - if a child had the power he'd destroy the world

  • they could of jst thought one thing and then killed him..such as prepare a dinner and say its time to cut the meat...but the meat could be him take a knife and keep telling ur self that..and slash across the neck

  • Or poison the meat?

  • Please son, wish it into the cornfield....

  • Hey, Billy looks like LBJ-

    oooops! Indiana Beach

  • I wish I could do that to my supervisor and my dad lol.

  • I wish he did that to June Lockhart on Lost In Space!

  • Wish it into the corn field? Ha..ha..ha!

  • I wish I could do that sometimes , especially to those whom park in my spot, LOL....

  • Absolute power corrupts absolutely. But then again, the weak often call themselves "good" and the powerful "evil". That's Nietzsche's legacy.

  • But, what if the weak eventually gets strong?

  • @geekgo4

If the weak eventually get strong and surpass/overthrow the powerful, then, as the new powerful, they will call themselves "good", just as they will call the new weak "bad". That's still Nietzsche's legacy. Although, for Nietzsche, it's rare for the weak to surpass/overthrow the powerful. Usually, they just drag down the powerful to their level.

  • one of my favorite only one i think that better than that one is the one with talkie tina

  • I'm reminded of this episode every time I see B-HO on the news. "You're a bad man. You're a very bad man!"

  • LOL

  • I actually met Bill Mumy a few years back. He was playing with his band, the Jenerators, at the Santa Monica pier, Rusty's Surf Ranch IIRC. I told him, "It's good that you played here tonight," and he came right back with something about the cornfield :)

  • the ghostbuster guy?

  • @Mosux2007 billy mumy is my best friend. i know his secrets.....

  • @Mosux2007 did he try to send you there?

  • @Mosux2007 OBAMAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I always wonder how this episode got a sequel.

  • what's it called?

  • Its still a good life.

  • cant some one kill the boy is he like a god becuse thats not rigth fucking liitle kid

  • But everybody wants the power of that kid, right? :)

  • No, he knows your thoughts wherever you are. At least he doesn't ask them to worship him.

  • great episode

  • Don't ever go to the cornfield...

  • my favorite episode. some family members of mine belong there.

  • It's a good thing you did Anthony. My favorite episode after the one with Shatner and the gremlin.

  • lol hilarious

  • wow as a kid i remeber this wanted to kill tthat boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! evil

  • I remember seeing this years ago. TZ owns!

  • Oh, so this this where the simpsons got that idea for that tree house of horror espisode.

Suprising effect scence because that quiet a grotesque image.

  • @OlaftheFlashy no the simpsons thing was a spoof of this episode

  • @luigiblox I did realise that hence "where the simpson got that idea", but I concede that I perhaps didn't make myself clear. Sorry about that.
