Beautiful, anointed and impressive. Never heard a version quite so amazing. Very clean cut and raw. You can feel the emotion radiating from his voice. It's like the Spirit of God is just flowing from the words that he sings.

I think its silly to attack anyone who has covered this song. David Crowder made a song with so much anointing available to MILLIONS of people who would have otherwise never heard it. This song is not anyone's but God's and I'm positive that as long as we sing it to Him and mean it, it doesn't matter what "version" we're singing.
Love Jared Anderson's version of this song. He carries an anointing along the lines of Keith Green and Kevin Prosch... not sure what his story is, but it's as tho you can feel the love and presence of God flowing from Jared's brokenness. Only when the most beautiful and precious things are crushed... can the true fragrance of worship for our Lord be released. Rose petals are the most fragrant when they are bruised and crushed, torn and inhaled, lingering on the breath of God. Suffering/Worship.

Ohhhhh Yes it can. When a song like this is written, it should be used for WORSHIP, which this and the original from John Mark Mcmillan do. The very short David Crowder version was specifically produced to be "commercially comfortable". Short, sweet, not to deep, & "proper language", as in the line "Heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss" at 03:55, being exchanged for "unforeseen kiss" to please the record company & keep everything squeaky clean. God's language of love IS sloppy, not clean..
Changing that one line does not make this song NOT worship sir. This is one of my favorite worship songs, and do I care whether it is "sloppy wet" or "unforseen"? no. Either way it is still a beautiful representation of G-d's love. I'm 16, so you can blow this off as an immature kid comment. But i don't think it's right to say that someone worships incorrectly..
True. The words, the music, the sound, all pointless if the heart is not there. However the intention of the line change may have the wrong intention. Or it may have the right one. We judge why? Let's take for example that worship can be two-fold. Independant one-on-one response between maker and creation, and congregational unified worship.
This doesn't just pertain to music I must add, but back to the topic, let's say the line was changed to make it less distracting for congregational worship.

life cannot be contained. I am at a very dark place and this song brings me great hope. it reminds me that god somehow loves me even when i rebel and walk around confused. my only hope is jesus and his love. i cling to him. pray for those walking in darkness that he will lift them out after their strength is gone.

Each day the sun rises bringing light to a dark earth kissing each star goodnight. & Each night the sun sets allowing the stars to once again shine. Jesus when he was in the storm, he was asleep in the back of the boat. He wasn't praying. He was simply asleep. God is our Abba Father. Like a father watching his child learn to walk. I love this version by Jared because it's so much like John Mark McMillians version. I truly believe that all the artists who've done this song very well have a story about their own heartbreaking situation. That's why they're able to do this so well.

Anytime you're going through a problem or you just feel need for something or someone... this is the song to listen to. I first heard this song at Aquire The Fire in February. Totally made me forget about all that this world has to offer, and focus on what he offers to us. Amazing songs. I thank God for touching people to make such beautiful songs! I think its silly to attack anyone who has covered this song. David Crowder made a song with so much anointing available to MILLIONS of people who would have otherwise never heard it. This song is not anyone's but God's and I'm positive that as long as we sing it to Him and mean it, it doesn't matter what "version" we're singing.

Love Jared Anderson's version of this song. He carries an anointing along the lines of Keith Green and Kevin Prosch... not sure what his story is, but it's as tho you can feel the love and presence of God flowing from Jared's brokenness. Only when the most beautiful and precious things are crushed... can the true fragrance of worship for our Lord be released. Rose petals are the most fragrant when they are bruised and crushed, torn and inhaled, lingering on the breath of God. Suffering/Worship.

I'm glad someone's covering this correctly, compared 2 a certain super short, squeeky clean version on the radio. I don't know who Jared is, but I appreciate this version.
Hope you'll allow my video response to be posted. Other "Big names" that are covering this don't allow it. :-( Hey, I'm wondering why the writer of this song isn't put in the title here. I'm sure John Mark gave permission to do the song, but why not let people know who the genius is behind this song? 5 stars here...

Ohhhhh Yes it can. When a song like this is written, it should be used for WORSHIP, which this and the original from John Mark Mcmillan do. The very short David Crowder version was specifically produced to be "commercially comfortable". Short, sweet, not to deep, & "proper language", as in the line "Heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss" at 03:55, being exchanged for "unforeseen kiss" to please the record company & keep everything squeaky clean. God's language of love IS sloppy, not clean..

Changing that one line does not make this song NOT worship sir. This is one of my favorite worship songs, and do I care whether it is "sloppy wet" or "unforseen"? no. Either way it is still a beautiful representation of G-d's love. I'm 16, so you can blow this off as an immature kid comment. But i don't think it's right to say that someone worships incorrectly..

True. The words, the music, the sound, all pointless if the heart is not there. However the intention of the line change may have the wrong intention. Or it may have the right one. We judge why? Let's take for example that worship can be two-fold. Independant one-on-one response between maker and creation, and congregational unified worship.
This doesn't just pertain to music I must add, but back to the topic, let's say the line was changed to make it less distracting for congregational worship.

It's pretty ridiculous that we're arguing over this. Really? Please don't get all upset as if the actual words of scripture have been changed, this is certainly not the case. If we're going to throw tantrums over the one person's choice of a word to describe their reaction to the gospel message, we might as well become legalists and argue about "snip snip" too (if you know what I mean, hint hint, book of Galatians). The Lord is glorified by the heart, which only He knows, who are we to judge?
