  • Still working on the cartwheel thing...

  • i could follow that...after a few more beers!

  • This is amazing! I like how the guy is flashy and sexy too instead of just showing off the girl the whole time. I like watching the guys, but not if they're always "hiding" behind their more flashy partner.

  • WOW! i don't get impressed easy but this is just WOW!

  • wow - great dance, even tho it doesnt look any like swing

  • @suzsiz There's more than one form of swing. This is west coast swing.

  • @lindyhop411 thx, ive never been familiar with this one ;)

  • this is so not swing dancing...however the part where she slides down him while curled up lol that the part where they alternate cart wheels was pretty cool :D

  • @stephanielynnewoolf There's more than one form of swing dancing. This is West Coast Swing which is a modern form of swing dancing that's danced to pop music. If you're looking for traditional swing dancing, then look up Lindy Hop.

  • I was watching then I recognized Heidi then Benji then I saw the names. That is awesome.

  • Don't hate just because it's mind-bogglingly good :).

  • This is the kind of dance they should teach in school not that line dance crap. Obviously not as good as these guys but this kind of dance actually looks fun.

  • This isn't swing - it's lame

  • True Bro. Lame.

  • @BonjourBit your full of shit

  • Yeah this is hardly swing - its king of like somebody took salsa, waltz, and a bit of swing and put it in a blender...

Nothing like true East Coast swing...

  • @noonedude101 that's because it's WEST COAST SWING. It's completely different than East Coast Swing. Look it up.

  • @noonedude101 East Coast Swing isn't true swing. It was created by ballroom associations to compete with Lindy Hop, the original swing dance created in Harlem, which white ballroom dancers thought was too risque. The dance being done in this video is "West Coast Swing" which is a modern form of Lindy Hop. The danced was developed on the west coast by dancers who kept dancing as music changed from swing, to rock n' roll, to rhythm and blues, to disco, to pop music, which explains the style.

  • @lindyhop411

Ahh, this makes so much more sense.

Allow me to rephrase my statement - this isn't "STEREOTYPICAL" swing haha

  • Damn! So precise! Awesome pair.

  • wow nice i wish i could move like that lol

  • They look like they would be best friends

  • @ameyoshida thank you :*

  • You know her fine ass is as solid as a rock.. Respect!! Gets it..

  • extremely good xD interesting hiow they call it swing when it's all straight quavers :P

  • omg omg omg its soooo fuckin perfect <3<3<3<3<3

  • ... Anyone else recognize the solo Benji used to save himself during Vegas Week, Season 2? He totally reused the middle section of this routine!

I mean, if you can get away with it, why not... but...

Still AWESOME dancing, no doubt about that.

  • @epa2113 well..its HIS routine. he has a right to reuse it. ur rite it was awesum

  • Very nice, but isn't swing dancing lindy hop based?

  • @LindyLoon West Coast Swing actually is Lindy Hop. The dance just evolved as music changed over 60 years.

  • Our favorite swing couple of all time!

  • This isn't swing dancing what so ever this is like figure skating on feet.

  • @blairstandring The dance they are doing is called West Coast Swing, which is a modern form of swing dancing that's done to modern pop music. What you are probably looking for is called "Lindy Hop", the original swing dance.

  • @lindyhop411 oh thank you!

  • @blairstandring its called west coast swing retard get with the program

  • @blairstandring omg that was EXACTLY what i was thinking. And yeah this isnt swing dance at all!!

  • AMAZING!

  • Super genial....wow wow wow

  • they are so good

  • i think this dance is amazing

  • Damn these cats were smooth.

  • Ok that ending was pretty damn epic . . . *nods head* yup . . . pretty damn epic

  • THIS IS LIKE SEX

  • That was magnificent!

  • WOW!

  • Thumbs up if your only here due to the sexy pink outfit...

  • pfft--they'd never make it in a place that does real western swing dancing, in part because of their music choice--that disco crap wouldn't be played by the band--but also the moves have nothing to do with the rhythmic flow of real western swing--it don't mean a thang if it ain't got that swing...sorry to see such a graceful dance form turn into rhinestones and acrobatics...

  • I just have one word: PERFECT

  • she look like Reese Witherspoon

  • To me, this looks like swing dance meets ballet

  • I think that was a couple of dancing angels from heaven! :)

  • damn that girl has a nice ass

  • WOW!! that was incredible. I really enjoyed that a lot. fantastic job. I am very sure that is so hard to do but they make it look sooooo easy!

  • At one time SYTYCD was dominated by this family. Benji won the season, Lacey (sister) and Heidi (cousin???) came close to winning.

  • @musicteachjw ..Travis should have won! TRAVIS!!

  • Her butt is...unreal amazing. Just sayin.

  • That guy looks like Ellen Degeneres.

  • @illegiblerumblad its called west coast swing and through the whole routine they follow all the rules of dance. So don't be a hater just because its something you will never be able to do.

  • @JotanShinta Most people have never heard of West Coast Swing, or even know there's more than one kind of swing dancing. Most people also associate swing dancing with swing music, hence why when most people see WCS for the first time, they don't recognize it as a swing dance.

  • Oh, boy ! If "I' could ONLY do this....AS WELL AS she does !!! (I'd be happy forever if I could. Maybe I'd better "try!"

  • Whatever they are doing...(who cares)........it is pure Fire!

  • wow, this was AWESOME

  • wow this was awesom3!

  • awesome!!!!

  • Nunca vi algo igual...

  • Amazing. They are fantastic dancers!

  • That was amazing! THey interpreted the song perfectly : )

  • the best ive ever seen

  • Despite of all that acrobatic stuff.. I LOVE how she points her toes at the end! :)

  • troppo forti, bravissimi

  • merveilleux west coast !! merci

  • that was sooo awsome the BOM.COM

  • @sy24225, so post a video of what you're talking about then. Video's worth a million words.

  • Way Hot!

  • oh heidi was on so you can't dance.. she was good!!!

  • i just wish they would rename this because it is NOT west coast swing.

  • @sy24225 What do you consider west coast swing? This is what west coast swing looks like.

  • @lindyhop411 , in your opinion. this is a very watered down version of wcs. it is slow and boring .

  • @sy24225 Like I said, what do you consider WCS. When most people want fast WCS they are thinking of Lindy Hop.

  • @lindyhop411 , i don't know how to explain it , and there isn't any on youtube to direct you to. the swing wcs that i learned was much faster and more intricate than what is being taught today. i started taking lesson in 78. it was much more challenging and fun. what i see now is a lazy version. and it is not the lindy hop that i am talking about.

  • @sy24225 Well, personally when I look back at video of US Open in the 1980s, WCS was definitely danced faster, but to me it looks very much identical to Lindy Hop. Have you watched the dancing from movies like "Don't Knock the Rock" and "Rock Around the Clock" from the 1950s? This era is really where the two dances blur together.

I understand where you are coming from, but whether we like it or not, the dancing in the video is what modern WCS looks like today thanks to Buddy Schwimmer.

  • @lindyhop411 , i understand that this is the new wcs, so be it. i will look up the suggestions that you made. for the record the swing that we were taught was not the lindy or the swing of the 50's era.

    thanks for the chat.

  • Man, I miss "Welcome Back, Kotter!" What a good show!

  • amazing

  • I like how they adapted that routine to the James Brown music. Very well done.

  • He Is Much Better Than His Sister! & His Partner is toally Amazing!

  • @notallthere18 you say that only because you have not seen Lacey's work. all the schwimmers are excellent.

  • QUE BARBARAROS, EXCELENTE BAILE, CON UNA ENERGÍA QUE TE CONTAGÍA TREMENDAMENTE. QUEDE ESTUPEFACTA. SORPRENDENTE.

  • dam she has a Nice BUM!!!

  • @p00wn4g3 yes :)

  • the name of the second song plz!?!??!?

  • SEN-SA-CI-O-NAL!!!!!!!!

  • Not Swingggggggggggggggggg nah

  • @issy3607 its called west coast swing its different from regular swing dancing like the lindy hop or something

  • @issy3607 It's not necessarily like more traditional forms of swing like Lindy Hop, Balboa or Charleston, but WCS is derived from Lindy Hop in part, especially in the footwork. But on the other, it has inherited a lot from ballroom dances, especially in the elastic-like quality of the movements.

  • this is really good but i couldnt see the swing in this so much just because of the fact that their bodies were very stiff and uptight

i unerstand it was for a competition though

but it would be cool to see them put a lil more "umph" into hehe

    they r still great dancers

  • DIDNT THIS GUY WIN SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, AND THATS HIS COUSIN WHO HAPPENED TO ALSO PLACE TOP FOUR??

  • @p00wn4g3 Yes.

  • @p00wn4g3

Yes he did! The best part is that when he was in danger of being cut in the initial stages of the audition, he did this w/ Heidi to save himself!

    2nd Place- Travis

    3rd Place- Donyelle

    4th Place- Heidi! Yay!

  • I know them from "So You Think You Can Dance". They're both great dancers.

  • Um, can we just get the men's costumes out of 1975 please? They have NO sex appeal. I'm really sick of seeing the almost-naked women with less and less fabric covering them while I have to look at a guy in fucking bell bottoms and a butterfly collar. Can we have some equally appealing men's costumes please!?

  • To everyone who says this isn't swing, educate yourself about dancing and realize there are different types of swing. This is West Coast Swing. The dance is dance to R&B, Hip Hop, Blues, Contemporary, some country... basically if it's in 4/4 time between about 60-120 bpm, you can dance to it. They demonstrate many patterns in west coast swing in this dance. It is a showcase routine which means they are allowed to do lifts like that making it look a little bit different but it's def swing,

  • To everyone who says this isn't swing... it's West Coast Swing... and they do a lot elements that keep it west coast swing. In a Showcase routine, you are allowed to do lifts and different things like that. If you'd rather see less of the showy lifts and stuff, you could watch a classic routine. In any case, they definitely do a lot of west coast swing patterns. If they didn't, they wouldn't have won the open and they wouldn't be some of the top west coast swing dancers.

  • If this is WCS my name is SANTA !!

  • @zxcvbnrebus HI SANTA!

  • So New Age swing (West Coast Swing) is turning all the old school stuff into provocative dancing, all the while to music that isn't even swing? It's stupid looking, and the music doesn't work as dancing music. I think I'll just stick with the traditional stuff, thank you. This is horrible.

  • @MangledPuppets Dancing is an expression of the music being played. I think they did a find job dancing the music they chose, but I agree with the fact that I like the older stuff more. That's why I dance Lindy Hop, but hey, to each his own.

  • Wow that was so LEGIT!! I wish i was that good!

  • I'd like to see the 185 people dance who gave them a thumbs down. A-holes. This is the best WCS routine to the best song ever. I am addicted to this video.

  • @mrsmjackson1 Everyone has a right to their opinion doucher. I for one think they are good dancers but i really disliked the routine. Deal with it :)

  • theyre good but i didnt like that routine and its not swing

  • @oktoberpanik The dancing in the video is "West Coast Swing." It's a modern form of swing dancing and looks the way it does because of the music. When the music is smooth and funky, then the dancing looks like that. What you are looking for would be traditional swing dance, like "Lindy Hop". :-)

  • @lindyhop411 yeah yeah i realized that after looking up types of swing.

  • @oktoberpanik theyre good and it IS swing. Its west coast swing new age. lets see your video.

  • @mrsmjackson1 hey kid i already said something about this so read the other comments before saying dumb shit. kay thanks :)

  • WOW

  • Great dancing but its not swing.

  • @xChibiAkumax The dancing in the video is "West Coast Swing." It's a modern form of swing dancing and looks the way it does because of the music. When the music is smooth and funky, then the dancing looks like that. What you are looking for would be traditional swing dance, like "Lindy Hop". :-)

  • Nothing to do with swing. Just some athletic bodies and good dressing don't give you swing.

  • BENJI IS MY LOVER

  • Look at that man's feet! He is Killing it!

  • absolutely awsome :)

  • I'm so blown away that I don't even know what just happened! - Amazed

  • Great moves! and they looked like they had a ton of fun! Thats kind of hard to find in dancers!!! :-)

  • Oh. My. God. I can't even walk properly in heels, and that's the least impressive thing that girl is doing, lol :D. The guy is pretty amazing too, of course.

  • @janetjw short heels.. maybe you could do it!

  • @janetjw My friend got me into ballroom haha. We use heels because a lot of heels already have soles that hold less friction to the dance floor and they look more graceful. But if you change the soles, you can make just about any shoes ballroom shoes.

  • @janetjw those heels are actually really easy to dance in. they're only about two inches. but yeah, they're amazing dancers :)

  • can somebody please tell me how she spins SO freaking fast? O.O

  • What is that song that starts at 0:39 please?

  • @chachacha3nOs "Get Up Offa That Thing" by James Brown.

  • regardless of what you kinda dancing you like, you should know amazing dancers when you see them :)

  • lo mejor de lo mejor unos grosos...

  • Обалдеть)))

  • охренительно!!!!!!!

  • that aint swing

  • @illegiblerumblad This is West Coast Swing, and while it's not a traditional swing dance, it's still under the "swing" term umbrella. What you are looking for is "Lindy Hop" the original swing dance form the 1930s. West Coast Swing is an evolved form of Lindy Hop, which changed as music changed from swing to rock to soul to disco to pop.

  • @illegiblerumblad educate yourself and check his background and his dancing before you start saying what is and what is not swing

  • @illegiblerumblad It is West Coast Swing.

  • @Kailaa3 not

  • @imsofreakingcooldude I think you're looking for "Lindy Hop". Check out my videos to see what it looks like.

  • @illegiblerumblad uhmmm yea it is... It's called West Coast Swing... -.-

and really good West Coast at that!

  • @illegiblerumblad west coast swing is like this. personally i prefer east coast.

  • @darn808pinoy Lindy is better than east coast. :-)

  • @lindyhop411 lindy is better than both

  • @illegiblerumblad This is the best kind of swing.

  • @illegiblerumblad maybe not, but it was still pretty amazing!

  • @illegiblerumblad That is actually a very fast west coast swing. Your probably thinking of east coast.

  • @illegiblerumblad this is west coast swing :) its a different type of swing - more smoothe :D hope this helped

  • @illegiblerumblad . google buddy schwimmer and also west coast swing and check out the wiki info. buddy is benjis father. also at the competitions there are different categories, age groups, etc. this is in the showcase division which allows for a more loose interpretation of the dance while adhering to the basics from my understanding. benji and heidi both competed on "so you think you can dance" and benji won.

  • @illegiblerumblad So what i bet they swing too. I am certain they can out dance you any day.

  • Their dancing is good. But, no offense, but it's not that classic 1940s swing [their dancing isn't traditional.] The west coast version.well.as for me, i favor the 1940s version.

  • Needs more energy, edge, It's BORING.

  • @RubytheHedgehog123 ...maybe you should get the crustiesout of your eyes, cuz i think it's your inner energy level

  • @RubytheHedgehog123 I think what you are looking for is "Lindy Hop".

  • I dislike this for not being real swing

You know the fast moves and stuff

But as a dance other then swing, this might be okay

  • @ArnacMGS This is West Coast Swing, and while it's not a traditional swing dance, it's still under the "swing" term umbrella. What you are looking for is "Lindy Hop" the original swing dance form the 1930s. West Coast Swing is an evolved form of Lindy Hop, which changed as music changed from swing to rock to soul to disco to pop.

  • @lindyhop411

    Let me guess

    you prefer Lindy Hop :p

  • @ArnacMGS I'll let my videos do the talking. Feel free to take a look.

  • I get that it's not Lindy Hop, it's West Coast swing - but it's not actually "swung" though is it? Surely that's quite an important part of "swing" music...?

  • @DurbsBT That's why some purists just call this "West Coast" and drop the swing part, but the steps are still almost identical to Lindy Hop. The difference is the music, because dance is an extension of the music, so this is what swing dancing changed into as the music changed through the decades.

If you look back at US Open competitions from the 1980s, the West Coast most people are doing is looks pretty much like Lindy Hop.

  • that is Benji who won a season of So you think you can dance! and Heidi (the actual girl here) was on the show as well!

  • wow...they dance sooo good. She is hot!!! I really like her bright orange costme. It really suits her body.

  • that was gold

  • my god this sucks!!! and that dude looks gay as ever. i mean if you're gonna swing dance have some brian setzer or cherry poppin daddies playing and go all out. (like in their videos)

  • @MrAdam4409 This is West Coast Swing, which is danced to modern pop music. If you want the kind of swing dancing you are talking about, then look up Lindy Hop. You won't be disappointed.

  • @MrAdam4409 Brian Setzer and Cherry Poppin Daddies is East Coast/triple time swing. This is West Coast. They are completely different. West Coast is more modern while East Coast is what you would see in the 1950s.

  • @amcgee07 ::rolls eyes:: Swing dancing came about during the 1930s, and the original swing dance was the Lindy Hop, although there are many other swing dances. East Coast Swing came about in the 1940s, and while you can dance to "Neo-Swing" it's nothing like the actual music that the dance is associated with. It's more appropriate to dance to some Count Basie and Chick Webb.

  • Great dancing but they have a very ballroon look, The plastered on smile is foreign to swing dance , Still the overall dance is first class

  • @slitmjst This is West Coast Swing, which is different than say Lindy Hop, a traditional swing dance.
