Hey thanks for the very kind words. Any time one is compared with fripp is an honor. I haven't heard Fripp with the other's you listed but I will definately check it out now that you brought it to my attention.
Sorry for taking so long in getting back to you. I will hopefully have something else up in the near future... been busy. I will put some more ambient guitar stuff up though I promise.
Thanks for listening and the kind words.. I used the Line6 DL4 Delay Modeler pedal. The pedal is a little strange when it comes to settings. If you create a cool setting with it and then turn it off and back on again you usually end up with a totally different sound. I have to tweak knobs and mess around with it every time I turn it back on. Its not like other pedals that keep their setting as long as you don't move the knobs.
not very good for live performance dependancy haha :D
The thing i still dont understand is how u make notes seem to come in over time? I see you picking a note, then over like 2 seconds, it comes in really slow.. thats what i like about it. is it because the delay becomes more and more pronounced over time or how does that work?
The initial setting I started with was an auto-volume swell, which is what causes the delay to be delayed and then when I move the delay time back and forth I get these really weird pauses that hold back the original signal even more. I guess in a nutshell the auto-volume swell is the best place to start when trying to produce the effect, then mess around with the delay time and repeat functions. I'll see if I can shoot a short vid in the future to demonstrate how the effect can be reproduced.
P.S: One more thing to keep in mind is that the mix setting on the pedal is set so there is a lot!! more effect than original signal which probably contributes the most to the super delayed response between the time I hit the strings and when you can hear it start to fade in...
if youd post a vid short demonstrating how to reproduce, thats be awesome.. id definately try to replicate it.. well.. get something similar.. itll never be the same.. its the slow swells i really like. on my vid this is a response to, i have an auto swell also..
the rythm guitar and lead are on th exact same effect settings.. only the pickup switch on my guitar is in different places..
Very cool!

You heard Robert Fripp on FFWD?
(Fripp, Fehlmann, Weston & Dr Alex Paterson)
You wouldn't be out of place there.
