haha no. actually this song was written by james hetfield as a response to his mother's beliefs which ultimately brought to her own death due to cancer. she refused to take medication as she was believing in a sect of christianity which rejects science and anything to do with it. I don't think Metallica is anti-religion. If not wrong James is a Catholic and some of the members are Christians.

@vader33300 Actually, this song is about the corruption of church and religion. The song title "Leper Messiah" basically means worshiping a false entity, or the truth of religion. This song is really anti religious... But, the line "send me money, send me green, heaven you will meet." is saying that the churches are corrupting you to give them they're fill of money and still feel good about themselves knowing your blissfully unaware.

Back then they didnt know much about diseases so they called it Leprosy, which was a thought as a disease that was nasty and horrible and could be contagous. It also talks about paying your way into heaven by paying the church.
