  • 8:23 Heh, some Alkanian deadpan humor rather than the usual "intensity"... kewl!

  • I like how he plays slight accents on the weaker chords at 03:20, making it sound like "bass - chord - bass chord" :D

  • Fantastic playing ,close to the Arrau version. Both of them never disregard "the big line".

  • Just another useless recording of Liszt's Sonata. Stooooop!

  • @Darrning Just another useless comment on YouTube. Stooooop!

  • @OrangeSodaKing Do not feed the trolls please.

  • @TripleRhu Yeah, you're right. Back to the video, I overall like this rendition.

  • @OrangeSodaKing Just another useless user(OrangeSodaKing) on YouTube. Stooooop!

  • First of all, the playing is great, nice phrasing very crystal clear technique but sadly and this is something I miss in almost every performance of this piece, it lacks fire. Are they all afraid of the piano?

  • @masterofsynapsis Check out Khatia Buniatishvili's recording on Sony Classical. She has a great supporter in Martha Argerich (who herself has a lot of 'fire' in this great piece). Khatia's performance is my new favorite and benchmark performance. She is really into the emotion of F. Liszt and intense as ever I heard with the Sonata in B minor! Plenty of color and light & shade as well!

  • @masterofsynapsis Check Cziffra's performance, or Horowitz's from the 50s, but I suspect you already have. Perfs with ballz.

  • 我有買這張 XD 超棒的!! Good!

  • A beautiful interpretation!

  • only aimards interpretation can affront to this. This is just indescriable :D

  • Hamelin is the only man who can make sounds warm yet sharp. TYSM for uploading this.

  • This is the ultimate version of the Liszt sonata.... I'm speechless.

  • Heard this, now going straight to the record shop. Hopefully this video will induce others to do the same.
